The Working Committee on Futures and Options has recommended increasing the minimum lot size of derivative contracts to Rs 20 lakh-Rs 30 lakh from Rs 5 lakh presently, restricting weekly options to only one expiry per stock exchange per week.........

Correct. They want ppl to invest in MF and cash equity and forget their money for years so Big business houses, AMC and government enjoy ppl money for long term.
But this rule won’t stay for long as ppl will move towards real estate and investment in global markets and business houses will loose their profit and government will loose taxes.

My one more suggestion to sebi if possible. Main function of derivatives mkt is hedging this is possible only with future no need of option in derivatives mkt because Most of the volume in option trading is lost there money in mkt so option may be removed from mkt if possible after that no fatigue of option daily or weekly expiry.

If govt actually wants people do long term investment only one solution long term capital gain tax should be zero % and short term capital gain tax should be 15 to 5 %. Automatic Most of the volume is diverted from f&o trade to long term investment and 2 nd solution govt should focus on long term brockrage charges.

I think most of the committee members have no expertise in stock market because all recommendations are not meaningful except one exchange has one weekly expiry this is meaningful.

अगर सेबी को इतना चिंता था तो डेली एक्सपायरी क्यों बनाई, इतना इंडेक्स लाने की क्या जरूरत था निफ़्टी बैंक और निफ़्टी 50 ही रहता। ऑप्शन को जुआ तो सेबी ने बनाया। अब लोग Forex की और जाएगा डब्बा ट्रेडिंग करेगा ऑनलाइन जुआ खेलेगा ।
क्या ऐसा नहीं हो सकता था ऑप्शन बाइंग सेलिंग और फ्यूचर मैं ट्रेडिंग करने के लिए सेबी की ओर से कोई कोर्स रहता कोर्स करने के बाद एग्जाम होता है जो पास होता वह ट्रेडिंग कर सकता था।

If SEBI think on bhief of these recommendations they control volume in f&o is totally impossible because most of the retailer are option buyers when you increase lot size they decrease quantity of number of lots suppose a person trade in 10 lot after lot size increased he will trade in 3 to 4 lots overall quantity is no change on the other side lot size increament has one major disadvantage if sebi want to know contact
