I just passed that Brush fire while going up the Cajon Pass. I saw it from Mira Loma before heading to Idaho to deliver Coca-Cola. Brush fire season just started
The 2 items in the GE wrappers must be the 1923 steeplecabs and oil electrics (just kidding) very impressive and rare all TOFC train reminiscent of a Prosperity Special with all those new trailers. Lastly I hope the happily married couple is on the CSX wedding registry
Seems like the bnsf & up train crews in the Pacific Northwest know there's a vrf cam in Chehalis. And what was Mike doing in that last clip? Giving the Ashland cam shell a cleaning?
@parailfan 8:25 A local will need to confirm but what likely happened here, track/line rationalization, has taken place in many towns where freight customers in town, lost or moved (such as coal docks, etc), and ongoing road and commercial development dictated more modern metro land usage. This happened in my hometown Lexington, KY where an entire main line (C&O) thru downtown relocated thru loss of in town customers and urban renewal program.
@T Hoog So in this case were 2 and 3 always the thru main lines and 1 and 4 (and maybe others) only siding and/or run around tracks where needed or has there been instances of removal/rationalization with track designations and/or usage changing over time?
The nicely illuminated rail cars at 7:43 onward, is that something new freight companies will be doing with LED lighting? Or is this done for specific freight only?

Amazing with all of the rain and snow in the Cajon Pass this year, that brush fire season has already begun.
That area has alot of offroading. And is near highway 138.
Yeah, geez I was just gonna ask what's next for Cajon? Earthquake??
That’s exactly what I thought too.
Ya gotta love Mother Nature. Nothing or a double helping is her way...and sometimes both in one year!
@@Purchaser. Good points.
I can smell that fire. Just seeing it on here brings back memories of all those fires I’ve seen and smelled while living in socal
12:45 and 21:21 Thanks for all you do bringing us these grab bags and bringing great train watching spots into our living rooms
20:46 😂
Thanks for all the time you put into this footage..⭐⭐⭐⭐
It was awesome seeing you at the end VrF. I was there when you came to town, and I hope you had an awesome time at Ashland Train Day.
Oh wow, was that you?! How neat to have a face to go with this super-great channel!
Notice, too, at about the 2:00 mark in Cajon, there's still some nice swaths of wild flowers, the not quite super bloom isn't all gone yet!
Great Grab Bag, Joe. Missed the trio of Heritage Units at Tucson including three passes of the UP ONE engine.
Great video 👍 love how the railfan SUV is parked at what looks like a no parking sign 😅
If you look 20:50 sign is for only 4/29 Saturday 12-5.
Think for this grab bag keep up with the good work virtual railfan

18:36. Those odd containers look,to,me as though they are airfreight boxes, shaped to fit into odd nooks and crannies in the fuselage.
those a re floating roadways for the military.
@@kingdomsbricks4762 Thanks for the info! Every time I watch one of these I learn something new.
The brush fire is very concerning...enjoyed the video very much. Thank you for uploading and sharing!! ❤🔥🙂❤
Никогда так не радовался за поезда США, они меня волнуют и всегда даже изучаю по возможности их историю

We put up a sign that says Thank You Train Crews. Several engineers participate in our chat at Chehalis.
Another great Grab Bag video VRF .
So much action at Chehalis on this one! Amazing video
Nice variety of shots!
8:24 Okay so where is main number one track located at?
Idk
Most likely removed in a prior line rationalization.
@@kennethhanks6712 So maybe at one time there were three tracks that ran through Ashland back in the day?

Great Grab Bag! What's in the carbon black hoppers?
8:40 generally the product "carbon black", a carboniferous material (usually a fine powder) used in many chemical and industrial processes.
