Turns out out there are lots of cynical assholes who dont want people to enjoy horrible music, just like me. fr tho these shitty songs are taking up peoples attention when much more talented artists are living on pennies
Just those pompous losers being called "artists" is disgusting. What, you think I can create a 3 word nursery song with bass or tape a banana to a wall and people will say I'm an artist? No way that could be real 😲
The generic pop trash that is popular nowadays should one day disappear and these so called "artists" deserve to be forgotten. I will never fully understand how and why such watered down and shallow garbage got popular in the first place.

This video is how every musician feels after by now decades of seeing absolute corporate trash propaganda get popular and people telling him he's a hater:
These kinds of songs aren't "killing music". Commercial art that doesn't have much deep meaning has and will always be popular. Just like how the more interesting music you enjoy will always be here, even if it's harder to find.
Its making anyone who doesnt have 10 producers 20 songwriters and massive recording studios with access to full orchestras unable to get a foothold in the industry unable to make money actively discouraging new artists and new sounds
There were times were commercial popular music actually had some intricacy and a good level of real artistic content. Even though we can still easily access less popular music that is great, it's a bad thing that the mainstream sounds, which are a lot of people's only relationship with music, is trash. It's bad for the collective
@@TheWitch- Art itself is subjective. And much of the music that is mainstream has less and less artistic components to it. There are plenty of factors that are not subjective, what with "artists" performing prefabricated sons that were carefully created (not by themselves) with the sole purpose of becoming a hit or to cater to (not lead or start) a given trend and exclusively make loads of money. I always love a good elitist complaining about modern music. These are not new problems. For every old song that has heartfelt lyrics like the one you pointed out, there are 100 old songs that have junk lyrics like the ones you hated on. You complain about the music being formulaic and stolen from other genres, but that's how it's ALWAYS been. Rock, funk, metal, hell even jazz, were all iterations of existing music. If anything, music is way more diverse today than it was in the 20th century. It's time to take off the nostalgia glasses.
