You might slip the wiper cowl back in from behind the hood. If you go at it from the front, you will scrape your paint off. Figured that out the hard way when I replaced my wiper motor.
I see you changed shorts. A little black over spray on the red ones? Also, could removing one of the hood struts allow easier installation of that plastic piece?
actually I can't remember what stained them - maybe tires. I eventually got them clean. Removing a strut would probably help a bit but if I recall the hood hinge is still an issue
Great video.. had some low lifes try to steal my 08 cvpi last night.. now when i drive at freeway speeds im getting a whistling sound & i can hear traffic as if my windows down. I reglued all rubber door seals & realized on the end of my winshield cowl (the litte rubber pieces on the very ends that protect the bottom of the windhsield & keep rain out where the hood hinges go down through) are gone.. thanks to your video here i see how the are supposed to be attached. Its such a specific part i cant find anywhere selling just those end pieces. Im gonna have to drive out to a junkyard & see if i cant find some... i hate thieves!!
@WJHandyDad no kidding! I appreciate the response. I was thinking the wind noise was coming in from those end pieces missing now but it ended up being the window. I could see a spot where the paint was missing just inside the window & on the door where they wedged something in there. I put gorilla tape all along the inside of the drivers window & im no longer getting the wind noise. Sucks sacrificing my window, but it was pulling my wheel at freeway speeds. I have them on camera. Cops came out 2 nights in a row & i later found out that they caught one of the guys. I bought a "unpickable" steering wheel lock according to amazon, alarm system & now I pull both the interior fuel pump fuse & exterior fuel pump fuse every evening.. i refuse to let some low lifes steal the car i worked my booty off for when i was in highschool. Id park it in my garage but my garage is full of motorcycles & lawn equipment. I appreciate your channel man. I got this vic back in 2011 & i remember coming across several of your videos helping me with my vic over the last decade or so. Take care bro... keep up the good work.
you must have skipped through the video... I clearly said that I cleaned it twice with isopropyl alcohol, once with lacquer thinner, and once with paint prep.

I tried it that way and it didn't fit and was worse... unless I was doing something wrong

When I had to remove that piece to change the wiper motor I removed the drivers side shock that made it much easier.
