@@nehguhtiv6873 Hey that's awesome! I think it just looks so 90s, that I'd buy it. I mean I'd probably hate working on it, but I also do that with my 3.4 Firebird, so...
These things were unbelievably cheap inside. The seating position was odd, the steering wooly, the wood trim offensively cheap and scarce, and the dash groaned and rattled from new. The Bravada offered nothing over the Envoy except Smartrack, which no one cared about and could have just as easily been an option on Blazers and Jimmy/Envoy. It was a cynical marketing exercise meant to be aimed at import buyers. It was proof positive that GM didn’t have the foggiest idea what Oldsomobile was anymore and therefore buyers didn’t, either.
Mine has a rebuilt transmission and a Jasper long block. Going into its 200 thousandth odometer miles. I had to epoxy a blend door actuator gear 5 years ago. I upgraded from a 94 just to get rid of the spider injector that went to shit once China took over delco.
I've owned a 1999 since 2016. I'm not letting go of it. These things were the symbol of luxury compact SUVS back in the day. The Bravada started the turn from an SUV to a luxury SUV. I love mine to death as it has the luxury of a late 90s sedan and the power and handling of a Chevy Blazer. It was my first car. It's still in mint condition 20 years later. Sadly though, I'm having trouble getting a decent engine for it. The factory one was abused by the previous owner. The 2nd one had the oil pressure relief valve get stuck open on the highway. The 3rd one has a weird ticking sound. It goes away when on the gas and the truck runs fine so it will give me time to save up for a crate engine. My Bravada deserves it. Lesson learned. Never trust a junkyard engine. People told me they were fine. I should've just saved up and paid the extra for a crate one. Thankfully my mechanic was cool and put the 3rd one in completely on him. Not too many mechanics like that anymore.
I'll admit, I was not driving in 1999; maybe things were different... But the "Flash when Passing" feature just sounds like the *fastest* way to get shot at while driving, short of cutting someone off.
ironic that it's an "unpretentious" SUV and then the narrator goes on to describe how the original interior and exterior colors have been renamed to new pretentious colors
Oldsmobile found itself competing with Hyundai at that era on the race to the bottom. Hyundai was lucky enough to make a stop before falling even further.
Luxury? It's hard not to notice even on video how shiny and cheap the interior plastics look. I haven't seen one of these on the road in at least 15 years or so and I remember that 1 because it it had the most squeaky and annoying interior and the carpet smelled like mildew because like all GM cars of this era it it leaped like a sieve.
Ah yes. The UA-cam algorithm has sent me here after RCR absolutely trashed on this vehicle lol.
Me too! Lol
RCR was onpoint
He trashed it pretty good lol.. I'm the fat kid in the video.
@@nehguhtiv6873 Hey Logan! At least it was a cheap buy. Who cars if it sucks!
These actually looked really nice when rolling into a ditch. Grandpa is still watching this video brochure in hell.
Did anyone else just see the RCR review of this?
I did. "Unpretentious" is not a descriptor I'd use for a car.
YESSSSSSS
Hey, you're talking about my Bravada lol.. glad you saw the video. it's kinda funny seeing your comment here. What are your personal thoughts on it?
@@nehguhtiv6873 It's an overpriced Blazer with more stuff to break. It is just a runaround though, can't fault you for that.

Rofl 🤣😃👍
**RCR moment**
Gm put a oldsmobile symbol on a blazer and jacked up the price.
I don't think Chevy Blazer had powered leather memory seats

Oldsmobile: "Unpretentious"
Also Oldsmobile: *renames exterior colors to sound more pretentious*

I have a 97, its my very first car i ever had, even though its older than me, this suv is awesome

Thank you for uploading this oddity, love it,
Why oddity? Oldsmobile was a top shelf manufacturer.
I sold these for the entire priduction run: 1991 to 2004. Higher class buyers, better credit and virtually no cross shopping.
I bought me a 1997 Oldsmobile bravada with 212k black on black a leather with the gold trim package for 900$ 😎 best 900$ I’ve spent so far

@@RodknockRhett I missed out on this truck. GM makes the smoothest driving trucks on the road.
@@ChuddleBuggy I can agree with that. Just wish the newer ones were built like the older ones.
The gold package adds a touch of class!
UA-cam doesn’t even like this damn car
"If you park this in front of your row home, in a crumbling Pennsylvania mining town, everyone will look at YOU!"
hell yeah white letter tires, what a feature
Most upscale S truck family member in the junkyard LOL. Yet I totally would daily drive a clean one.
I love Bravadas

It looks so nice
12:30 😐 I did not know how to screw a gas cap on till just now! 😕
Good video love the green color
I love my forest green 1977 Oldsmobile Bravada
Psyched for the R9B value package.

oh god here i go again....
Love it
A gas guzzling taxi pickup truck.
Official Florida cocaine smuggler truck?
So you also saw the video of RCR trashing my Bravada? Nice haha
I know right!!!
Oldsmobile found itself competing with Hyundai at that era on the race to the bottom. Hyundai was lucky enough to make a stop before falling even further.
🧐 this truck 🛻 came with everything!! Even floor mats!! Hmm 🤔.
This was what a man would buy his wife if he wants her to know he started the divorce process.
😂😂😂facts! Had a friends mom in high school and a lady neighbor both in that situation
Great car. Why was he bullied?
"Oldsmobile Bravada...
Whatever."
LOL the more I watch this, the more ghastly this vehicle becomes. Elegant Blazer. Yuk.
Gm slowing killing Oldsmobile…
