Which liner brand do you suggest? Right now (June 2021) Merlin liners are 7 months out, Loop-loc liners are 2-3 weeks. Also 20 or 28 mil? Thanks!

We were using Latham but they have implemented some extremely negative policies so we switched to megna because they are local to us. Kayden liners out of jersey are pretty squared away as well.

@@LazyDayPool Here on Long Island we have Merlin and Loop-Loc. Generally speaking, is any one brand much better than another?

Hi - thanks for sharing. Is it true that textured liner is harder to maintain because algae and bacteria get into the grooves?

I guess theoretically that’s possible. But I’ve never seen that as an issue on any pool.

@@aceqqq8112 That's ok...I think I understand. Liners last about 10 years on average if your pool is equipped with a salt or chlorine system. About 13 to 17 years if the pool is equipped with a drinkable pool water system or zerochlor system. I prefer liner pools but that is really just a matter of personal preference. Watch my video on the pros and cons of each pool type to learn more. Thanks.

I did a 5 year study that ended in 2011 that showed roughly 95% of liner damage was caused by chlorine below the waterline. UV from the sun accounted for a small amount of liner degradation above the water line.
