I am not sure if it is the same in Norway, but traditionally thrift shops were targeted at people didn't have as much money as others, but now there is a movement here in the UK, especially among young people, where regardless of peoples income there are drawn towards charity shop/thrift shops as they are seen as a big driver for a sustainable world. Many of the young people I interact with on a daily basis are increasing buying their clothing from charity shops as their "little bit" of contribution to a better world environment.

Yes , there are many of them around. Most of them are small though, not like this one. Obviously popular, and often packed with people.
