What's really amazing is that (G)I-DLE is only three years old, and at this point in Queendom, they were barely a year and a half old. They've given us a lot in a short amount of time, especially seeing that they write and produce their own stuff. We've really gotten spoiled with so much music, covers and the K/DA and solo stuff too! Oh, and about becoming actresses - Miyeon and Minnie have already each starred in their own K-drama series 😊
I love G Idle just bc of performance like this. They are so different and out the box. This put them in first place in Queendom for this week. The beginning part Minnie was speaking in Thai. TALENTED!!!!! A lot of kpop songs have chants that the crowd sings along with from their Fandom. I love watching queendom bc I love getting to see the other idols reactions!
Regarding them being actresses, well Minnie and Miyeon already are. Minnie starred in a Netflix kseries called "Not So Worth It". Miyeon starred on a web kseries called "REPLAY: THE MOMENT" and even have 2 songs for the mini series. Yuqi was part of "Keep Running". This is the Chinese version of the korean show "Running Man", plus we saw her act a little in Bonnie and Clyde MV. Shuhua always had the confidence and beauty to be an actress, and I believe she's part of a show in Taiwan. Soyeon just released a video where her 3 personalities were interviewed for her album WINDY, with a bit of acting, especially for one of the characters.
The thing about this performance is two fold. First (G)I-DLE won the first round with this re-mix. Second, and I think more importantly, this performance showed the other groups in the show that it was OK to think outside the box. Most of the other opening round performances were kinda meh. Not saying they were bad, just didn't stand out much. I mean Mamamoo was Mamamoo and Bom was Bom, but the rest just kind of put on one shot stage kind of like Music Bank or something. After this first round ALL the groups stepped it up. I think the grout that embraced it the best, aside from (G)I-DLE, was Oh My Girl. I agree, the music from the orginal song is better, but if you just put a normal performance, there is no interest for the show.
