SEBI has presented a Consultation Paper that outlines various limitations on the activities of financial influencers. But does this spell the end of personal finance and wealth management content online? To address this and all other related concerns, I’ve prepared a comprehensive video response.

He may not get banned but people should understand there’s a huge difference between experts who have spent years earning a degree, experience and license in finance vs a mere engineer trying to become a UA-camr through skits related to finance.

I absolutely agree but RIA people are also committing scams, in such a scenario I feel its best to consume knowledge from everywhere and do your own research, just because someone has a degree doesn't mean that they are great. Why is degree a measure of anything, makes no sense to me. Knowledge should be the prime parameter . I don't have a Btech CS degree but I know coding better than my engineering friends.

Let me see you build an os from scratch for a specific system architecture. IT is huge and has more money hence everyone (engineers and coders) get there.

I genuinely don’t understand the value of Degrees anymore, although I respect the need of degrees in the role of education & maintenance of social status in our life but what if our interests gets changed after getting a degree in a specific subject.
My point is by getting a degree is pretty good for those who want to go into jobs & preparations for govt. exams, because there you need to get qualified enough to even sit into the examination hall.
For people like Sharan, degrees don’t and they shouldn’t be because you cannot compare education with degrees.
I love when people with a large following are bold enough to tackle hate targeting in a very mature way, just like you did by addressing this situation by highlighting the important pointers!

I like lla as they teach very good finance advice. We should all know how Money work but money is a curse and can change anyone mindset for profit. People can scam people to just invest in big stocks, this and that stock and then will take money as commission from them. Few people even lost money in stocks and talk about giving advice to youths. So having a control setup is always appreciated.

It's a question of how do you trust ? We usually trust people basis their qualifications, competence,accreditations & certifications on a particular subject. How do I know, looking at a face, that a person is trustworthy ? Every fin advisor must prove his/her competence before starting talking on a subject, especially if there is a financial reward attached to it, whether directly or indirectly.
Fun fact is that we trust others more than we trust ourselves...😒

Sharan, you said that mutual fund Distributors earn lots of money from mutual funds companies. I just want to clarify here that mutual funds commission is less than 1% on AUM. Where Insurance commission is 15% on per policy. Now you can indetify that how we can earn money from MF.

Sharan is selling courses about investment so hes not going to be impacted. So maybe other few he mentioned. But Akshat Shrivastav, Ankoor Warikoo etc and some other did promote Vault ( crypto stuff). Though not exactly this but they did give very greedy poor investment advices.

It's a good move to register the finfluencers and what Sharan is doing is just increasing the financial literacy which is actually very low in the country and yes if you have studied economics and finance you will understand that Sharan or person like him are doing the good job it's just sometime corporate or industrial lobby wants people to do job and don't get financially sound so they discredit them✅
