“Because I have the body of an adult woman.” Preach. It always bugged me how people could say “wear children’s clothes” like.. would THAT be comfortable to you??? If not, don’t say it
I don't see the issue, if you find a cute piece of clothing that's children's clothes and it fits you because you're short, whether it's "abnormally" short or just shorter than average, why not buy it? if you can't find adult clothes that fit you size wise there's no problem in buying children's clothes as long as you like them and want to
@@arsena5209 that’s the issue at your end statement. If she WANTED to, she would. Getting TOLD to buy children’s clothes can be utterly demeaning. I would wear certain children’s clothes, as I’m very petite, and have shopped in the boy’s section before. However, nobody TOLD ME to go buy children’s clothing. She has the body of an adult woman, and wants adult clothing, I can’t fault her for that. But I can fault the people telling an adult woman to wear children’s clothes when she would if she wished to do so.
Considering some kids clothes look like adult clothes, there's a lot of kids clothes that simply look childish simply because they are kids clothes and as an adult you don't always want something "cutesy". I hope you get a sewing machine because then you can learn to do more professional tailoring of your clothes! 😊❤👍
I'm not sure if this would work, but I study textiles and I think if you wanted to reach out to a local fashion school the students might be happy to help you for cheap or free to gain experience. Not everyone's cup of tea but could be fun
as another student that studies textiles i totally agree! It is the relatability really. I can relate to her frustration with clothes and I am 5ft tall... it is because the standard sizes don't account for diverse ethnic body types so I get frustrated that my butt and thighs aren't Euro-centric... they are Caribbean-centric. I have small hips but the junk in the trunk and thighs are thick. I did found husky boy clothes to do the trick and fit well. congrats on the growth and I can speak for most you have a warm and inviting personality and u seem like a great best friend and whomever has u as a friend is lucky. so down to earth and relatable
I'm 4'11" and I hate having to hem my pants so I wear mostly dresses and skirts. People always are like "wow you dress so fancy" but really I'm just lazy. Also dresses are better cause you don't have to worry about your clothes matching.
Hem tape is awesome stuff! It's a permanent, washable iron-on adhesive, intended to be used to anchor hems without sewing. I love using it to deal with hems on knit or slippery fabrics, because I find hemming those to be a pain! If it's something I expect to get a lot of wear, I'll reinforce it with some stitching, but for things that only get worn a couple times a month, it works well.
Depending on some tailors, if you bring in your own fabric they can make you pants or shirts to you for the same price that you get at a store. The first time in will cost about 150 because that’s them making a pattern for you. But after they have a pattern then they can make you as many patterns as you want from that pattern. So just compare prices to each tailor per hour and go with the mid line one. Not the cheap one or the expensive one. Whoever is in the middle then that is the one.
If I were you, when you get a sewing machine, you should make yourself a matching top or bag to make a matching set. Makes good use out of the fabrics if you re purpose them and extra clothes, so you get what you pay for (and more).
I am 165 cm and still wear kids clothes. The struggle is real. Women comes in all sizes and I refuse to change for modern beauty standards. I love your videos.
Hi I am a dwarf too and I love seeing other dwarfs on social media because there are not a lot of us in this world Also I have the same problem with clothes too
Think of all that extra denim she’s got lying around. Omg a paradise for me. I low key get excited when I’ve worn jeans beyond repair and have to upcycle them.
I just started sewing because while I'm not as small as you, I find they make some jeans today with like freakishly long legs. Or maybe they're meant to be worn with high heels, but that's just not for me. So now I can actually make the hem look nice and once you get the gist of it, it works splendidly well and quickly too! And it's fun. And you could also alter long sleeves and such.
Having to modify everything must be such a drag sometimes but you have sewing skills most don't which is cool. What if you did a series where you're learning to make your own clothes? That would be so 🔥
If you have any local tailors you could pay them a visit, some are very affordable! Plus i think you could use the extra scraps to ask them to add pockets to dresses/skirts 💕
I need a friend like you. 😊 I love to sew and i feel like we would be a great match! I would hem your stuff in return for the fabric scraps and a bit of "tea" over coffee. 😋
❤ Sending you so many positive vibes. I am 5' tall, very thin, but I still have adult curves. I really need to learn how to alter more of my clothing. You're Bob the Builder reference had me on the floor! I have said similar😅
As another person with short stature (undiagnosed) i also find shopping frustrating. I am 26. Nearly 27 at 4ft 9 (stopped growing at 16) and 14st which i am trying to lose (have GI issues which are being investigated as it's more than just eat less, move more). I am a 26 or 27inch leg at size 18 or 20 in the UK. Top wise i wear mens sizes L to 3XL, though 3XL is too big (i like baggy clothes). I am not good with sewing but am thinking of getting into it. Jeans, trousers , leggings etc are the hardest bits for me. I am proportionate with small hands and big feet lol. Love this video. Have a good week. Xx
As a 4"10 woman, I stick with pants that are sinched or tight at the bottoms so they dont hang over my feet and just bunch up around my ankles instead lol I dont have my life together enough to have my clothes altered. Your inspirational girl!!!
I’ve always had the same problem kids pants fit lengthways, but they never fit in the waist because my hips and butt or a woman’s butt. Only jeans at ever fit me nicely was when American Eagle had kids pants and now they don’t have them anymore.
Just a little tip if you want to be more comfortable instead of jeans lululemon actually hems legging to fit size so if you invest in a pair or two they will last a while and have warranty!

You might want to try No Stitch powder. After you heat it it glues fabric together. Thicker fabrics require more than they say but I’ve had it last through probably 20 washes before you need a touch up. I then often use safety pins if in a pinch.
StitchWitch is your friend! Iron those ends together is quicker if you need quickness. Also, get with a quilter or crafty person. We always need nice cuts of fabric!!

I love that pink and teal shirt, those are fun colors! And also, yes, the hacked-off jeans vibe is great. I might have embarrassed my mom a few times with how raggedy the ends of my jeans got in high school, but it's ✨fashion✨
You can get a small hemming gun that would work probably work for those pants. They are like 30 bucks. I havnt used one myself but totally would try it if i needed to hem things that often.
There was an EA at my elementary school that solved this problem by buying mens shorts because they were so long they fit him as pants. He was a super sweet man but that piece of genius is the thing that really stuck with me lol
