Art Oficial Age is delicious. Its one of the sweetest albums ever. This Could Be Us love it especially when the guitar riff comes in and it becomes a bit dischordant, feels like I'm lifting off. The metaphysical is definitely happening listening to all Prince's beautiful music. Just enjoying the musicianship itself 1st then the lyrics enhances everything beautifully. The longing, wanting and loneliness is palpable 💜

Many of us have been posting their condolences about Prince, and some people have been saying that we aren't true fans because we don't post stuff about the artist obsessively. What those people don't understand is that you don't have to be obsessed with an artist and their work in order to be considered a fan. Purple Rain came out when I was 5 years old. I grew up listening to Prince like most of the people I know. I thought it was the coolest thing when the Tim Burton version of Batman was filled with his music. During my time as a DJ, I would put a lot of his music in the playlist. He had his own style of music and that style of music changed and inspired musicians and will continue to inspire musicians for years and years to come. Prince was one of the most talented artists to ever hit the music scene. He played every single instrument and did things the way he wanted to. There will never be another like him. I didn't realize how much I listened to his music growing up. I'm only 27 and my older cousins loved some Prince and played his music around me. The sad part is we just lost a legendary radio host here in Chicago the same week named Doug Banks and they played their interview together and I have just been sick since. May they meet each other in heaven.
I never leave comments but I have to pay my respects to a true genius. I've been a fan for as long as I can remember. He may be gone but we can look forward to the release of even more music from the vault. RIP beautiful one, you'll live on for years to come through your music touching people still.

When I bought this album I wasnt too sure but the more I played it I thought what a great, clever album. Its just a pity it didnt make the charts but i dont think it ever got any airplay which is such a shame as a lot of his music got missed unless you went on Tidal which not everyone does. I loved Prince but i do think he shot himself in the foot when it came to getting his music out to a wider audience but who knows maybe he didnt care about that. Anyway its a great album and if you dont have, go out and buy it, you wont be disappointed.
I agree with you. I also don't think he care about getting airplay but knew that his fans wouls continue buying his music. For example when he pass away it was really hard finding his songs on youtube and especially spotify. Now that it is on spotify I am listening to him daily. I do think I might buy this cd. My mother really didn't let me listen to many of his songs when I was little due to his music being so sexual. Lol. But I do consider myself as a fan.

I saw Prince in 2011 @ The Forum in Inglewood, Ca. He helped restore the Forum by selling tkts for $ 25.00 for about 3wks. Now because of Prince the Forum is up & Rollin.....he put on an outstanding show, it's hard for me to believe that I will never ever receive that opportunity to see Prince perform again...... When I bought this album I wasnt too sure but the more I played it I thought what a great, clever album. Its just a pity it didnt make the charts but i dont think it ever got any airplay which is such a shame as a lot of his music got missed unless you went on Tidal which not everyone does. I loved Prince but i do think he shot himself in the foot when it came to getting his music out to a wider audience but who knows maybe he didnt care about that. Anyway its a great album and if you dont have, go out and buy it, you wont be disappointed.
I agree with you. I also don't think he care about getting airplay but knew that his fans wouls continue buying his music. For example when he pass away it was really hard finding his songs on youtube and especially spotify. Now that it is on spotify I am listening to him daily. I do think I might buy this cd.
My mother really didn't let me listen to many of his songs when I was little due to his music being so sexual. Lol. But I do consider myself as a fan.

I saw Prince in 2011 @ The Forum in Inglewood, Ca. He helped restore the Forum by selling tkts for $ 25.00 for about 3wks. Now because of Prince the Forum is up & Rollin.....he put on an outstanding show, it's hard for me to believe that I will never ever receive that opportunity to see Prince perform again...... RIP Prince... Thanks for the music

Every time I see Prince pics listen his music and watch his vids its painful & bitter sweet knowing Ill never be able see him perform live again, hear his voice get a chance meet and just say 'hi' its breaking my heart, alot of these celebs musicians today if I ever saw them in person I wouldn't even acknowledge or try get their attention. Old school sound musically, new school lyrics. Songwriters didn't necessarily write lyrics like that back in the 70s and 80s. Prince started writing like this with the Diamonds and Pearls cd from 91-92. What can he do when Alicia Keys is his only true competition? And she gets all her pointers from him, LOL...so in fact he is his own competition!
