Enjoyed the video. I can tell you're proud of your son, as you have every right to be. I'm glad you were able to recover quickly from your bout with Covid. Just one question: when can we hope to see an update on the layout? I find I'm suffering from withdrawal from being able to vicariously build a model railroad. In the meantime, may you and yours stay healthy and safe. Let your son know that we're all happy that he's been able to pursue his dream career and wish him the best going forward (and backwards when the train changes direction).

In 1978 when BRAC struck the N&W (former NKP and Wabash) I was a member of management (Supervisor at Roanoke Shops) trained as a road engineer. I made 55 trips out of Bellevue, Ohio, about half from Bellevue to Bison Yard Buffalo. I remember this territory well. I especially dreaded going down 19th Street in Erie!

Even without an on-going health issue having Covid is not good (been there), so hope you're over it soon. Nice to see a railfan video that comes with an explanation of what is taking place and where it is

There is a museum close to Youngstown called J&L narrow gauge railroad, their webpage has the same name.

If ever there was a "That's my Boy" moment, you just shared it with all of us. I could feel the heart felt sincerity in the commentary.
Now I know how dedicated you are to prototype model railroading and time period, but at some point an NS Locomotive has to do a flyby on your layout with Steve hanging out the window waving to all of us. That would be cool. That guy you poke fun at on your layout could be seen running to a phone to report this futuristic locomotive that just went by, of course comments of him hitting the sauce again under peoples breath could be imagined, as his frantic reports go uninvestigated, thus it never happened anyway, holding true to the prototype if the only evidence was....well you get the idea. I'm posting, but I'm going back to find that guy's name. The guy that stuck in my head was the crossing guard on the road to Sharon video. Referred to as a slacker.

Boy Steve is Lucky! When I hired out for NS in the mid 90s. The Division Super that Hired me, told me if he caught me waving at anyone that he would fire me on the spot! I hired out out of Ft Wayne District on the NKP side

Really cool to see your son is working for NS. Have you gotten over to railfan over in Ohio at any of the major hotspots like Berea, Fostoria, Vickers, Marion, or Sandusky Bay?

Continued good health to you. Sounding like a proud papa! It’s a dad’s job to embarrass our kids while they work.

    Dear Sir,
I know the effect of this kind of fatherly attention on a son (of any age). That's love, for shure.
Cheers and maybe a little envy from Brazil!

Not so much of Darth Vader, more like an obscene caller. Darth Vader has the almost popping sound before each breath.
