Yeah probably shouldnt use metal to push the pig into the barrel. Just asking for a bad day doing that. Just keep a wood 2x4 at the launcher at all times so the next guy doesnt do the same thing.
Most important thing is to make sure it gets to the reducer and has a good seal. She'll sit there all day long if you just push it bare past kicker line...then ya blow her down, open door, and try again
yup agreed i do pigging on pipeline 48’ inch’ feed gas product , usually i push pig with hydraulic pusher untill they get snugged to kicker/reducer .. *sorry for my bad english
I'm not the smartest man in the world, but those look like butterfly valves so... how is the pig supposed to pass through those with the steam down the middle of the valve body?
The purpose of pipeline pigging is to remove debris buildup, which increases pipeline efficiency. Also, in dry pipelines, such as natural gas, any liquid drop out can be swept down the line and recovered minimizing any internal corrosion. Hope that helps!!!
Hey Ace. I watched both of your videos and they are very informative. You do a great job explaining everything. I have some questions about the pigging process and I was wondering if you would be open to having a conversation about it.
I passed an interview for a pipeline tech position thanks to this video.
That's what I'm doing..lol
Nice video👌🔥. Still waiting for the pig signal to pop up😅

Dustin Draughon I agree with you, they have to push it till the pig seal the minor barre

Second in importance is to Video in LANDSCAPE aspect

Thanks so much. Brought me great clarity on the pigging process. Looking forward to more such videos.
You need a steering wheel knob for those 16 inch valves!
Soooooo did the pig make it into the line 👀
Its such a cliffhanger
Where i come from pig signal is the same as last call.
Thankyou very much its very knowledgeable
I just got a career in pigging as a pipeline tech in Williston, North Dakota. Where is this video made? What should I expect?
So this place doesn't exist right? The backdrop looks like it's from a 90's era video game
Rooster Teeth brought me here
Jeremy Brendli same
What was the point of this video? Or are we watching the wrong one lol
Same
lol me too
i hope burnie didn't want me to watch all 12 minutes of this damn video

Where is the other half of the video! Lol
With this video and pipe mania puzzler I now feel trained to work on industrial pipes.
I noticed that you didn't purge the air out of the barrel before launching the pig. Is it ok to send that much air through downstream meters?
It's not a problem. We would re-calibrate our meters on a regular basis
its not a natural gas line. its a product line.
Did it ever leave the trap?
yes it did
you missed a belt loop
Would not hurt to grease the clamp hinges as well.
TDW door?

Thanks, you made it very easy process.
Don't need all that red grease on that o-ring. Silicone grease works better and does not deteriorate the o-ring.
I'd be working with a written checklist.
What is type of Pig ?
Why isn't Kingston doing this?!
Are those tipple centric butterfly valves?
wont be butterfly valves as they need to be full bore for the pig to get through
Ball valve.
Oops, you accidentally loaded the mule, not the pig. You had one job Clem!
it's a North Dakota location
Just tell me where to apply!

Nice work 👊🏻
Landscape aspect !!!
Never left the launcher
That's right
He didn’t get a good seat, which allowed bypass
Please use proper pig pusher or pig will not launchef
RT post show!
FAIL!
The pig signal DID NOT pop up.
mâle sure it's gets in thé reducer
I m doing diploma in piping engineering
Come on erin
