Nice catch in trying conditions Brett. I like the look of the sure strike lure and will be in to get one for myself. Lovely sunset footage as well. Unfortunately you did not say what time the braai started😊
Hi Brett hope you're good?I have 2 questions regarding topwater lures , do you always drift when targeting Grunters and can you fish deep water as well or do you only have to fish the shallows?..Nice watching your outings @ the Gamtoos..Stywe Lyne
Hi Stompie, great stuff, glad you are enjoying the videos...im enjoying making them! Re the Grunter, I normally anchor the boat once I find a shoal thats in feeding mode and then tend to use the tide to drift a top water over the area to get the bite. Some days you can simply drift the lure with a occasional twitch, other days you have to work the lure at a slow pace using the 'walk the dog' action. I have, by mistake, caught Grunter in deep water, but generally water 1m and shallower does the business. Keeping very QT is the key, avoid any loud talking or bumps on the boat to avoid spooking the shoal! Good luck!!
Can u pls help me with finding the perfect spining rod ? I was hoping to buy one soon at Trophy tackle den store and im looking for a 5-6 foot rod for light jigs and topwater lures
Afternoon Caiden, thanks for the message...seems this one slipped past the landing net! Did you pop past the shop and did you come right with your purchase? Regards, Brett
Please sir would you consider taking me with you to catch a grunter on surface lure, it has always been a dream of mine. I will pay for the session and petrol
Afternoon Cameron, glad you enjoyed the video! I dont do charters as such, but pop past the shop and we can see if we can set a goal towards reaching that dream catch! Regards, Brett
