I appreciate what he said about going to a grocery store when he’s in a new place. I do the exact same thing. Glad to know I’m not the only one. Grocery stores and open air markets in the Philippines are my particular favorite.
@@FoodTastertv Dried Mangoes are probably the most common answer, and they are good, but super sweet. (Fresh mangoes from the Philippines are out of this world) They have Adobong Mani, which is roasted peanuts w/ garlic chips. There are Nagaraya brand peanuts with cracker shells on them (similar to the peanuts from Japan that Andrew had). Either Garlic or Adobo flavor are my favorite… Then Calbee chips/crisps, which are from Japan but are readily available in PH. (Shrimp/prawn flavor and seaweed are both good… but shrimp can be an acquired taste). My favorite ‘non-snack’ food is pork sisig, which I crave at least once a week when I am back in the states. (Sorry. I get too chatty when it comes to food) 🙂
I absolutely love Andrew Zimmern! He is who i strive to be when I visit other countries. So open minded, so understanding and always goes in for another bite, even if he hates what he's eating. Love him, hes a gem.
Andrew is great. I have always enjoyed his sense of humour. He is highly intelligent, kind, openminded, and his love for food enjoyed around the world is inspiring.
He's got that gift of being able to convince me to stretch out and try different foods. It's more of an enthusiasm than a "peer pressure" approach. He's great... I watch his shows when I can.
Andrew is someone who inspired me not just to travel and try new foods, but explore every aspect about the culture of a different place. Him and Anthony Bourdane made shows that were so much more than just "strange food" but understanding people and their lives. Love this man.
When I was young, my dad always went hunting and then made a lot of "biltong" with the buck meat. After it was cured (dried) to perfection, he kept it in clean pillow cases and we each got a big piece every night while sitting in front of the tv. Thinking about this really made me miss my dad and brother a lot.
I had the pleasure of meeting Andrew several years ago in Chicago at a special party for the National Restaurant Association Show. I must say, it was one of THE most amazing experiences of my life (other than the birth of my children)!! I had a rough start in adulthood. Its taken a bit too long to get in a good spot, unfortunately... but with Andrew and Anthony Bourdain, I was able to travel and experience other cultures and food vicariously through their shows in the ways that I wished I could afford to do. It also gave me an escape to those worlds when things got bad in my marriage - it was something I could always count on being there in some way or another. In that, I am truly thankful for Andrew and Tony! 💜
Easily the best snack selection ever on this show. I badly want to try most of what I saw. That beef jerky especially looked so much better than any I’ve ever seen.
The rare food presenter who not only respected the food but also the culture(s) behind them. RIP Bourdain , the world needed you and Zimmern to keep on rockin.
Andrew is easily one of my favorite food personalities on the planet. I mean, this dude is so well spoken about things he's passionate about... and he seriously wore a Gucci belt for this episode. Please get him on Hot Ones 😍

I love Andrew! He's my all time favorite TV food personality! I was literally just thinking about how I was annoyed I can't find him on any of my usual streaming services, and now I find him on FWF. Lucky lucky!
I met him at Chicago Lit Fest once and he was the funniest, most gracious person. He absolutely did not have to take a picture with me but he did. Major dude.
Gotta echo what others are saying haven't had cable for years but loved watching Andrew's and Tony's(RIP) Food/Travel shows with my dad. Dad recently passed so this was a pleasant surprise.
I've had a few of these. Love the Matcha KitKats! Love the Korean Squid snacks (I was stationed in Korea for 2 years)... Also Love the Mexican candies.. I'm in El Paso and get a lot of Mexican candy.
Honestly, this man changed my life in terms of my perspective on food. I used to be a moderately picky eater, but after watching his amazing show and its motto, I learned to be more adventurous with food. There are still things I don’t like to eat, but overall I’m more willing to try unfamiliar dishes and snacks.
I love Andrew, I don't have cable so I can't watch his shows. I like his stab at big TV. It was awesome to see this. He should do more of this, or produce his own UA-cam show *wink wink* Come on man!
