Hybrid Heaven: A Random Spotlight

- Look who's back! With the reality of the pandemic, I've gotten to dig into my back log and one of those check marks off the list was a obscure, but thankfully still cheap and easy to find, N64 game called Hybrid Heaven. It never really made any waves and so I wanted to give it some attention!

Had this game as a kid, really wish it was more popular hell maybe we need a spiritual successor to be released
Honestly with the resurgence in fighting games and the indie market, I'd be surprised if at least similar mechanics wouldn't go over super well.
bro this game was dope once you learned how to play i was like 4/5 playing this
Definite hidden gem.
that intro sequence was gold i had to watch that twice
Thank you so much!
Real good break downs. Hope you keep making more
Recording audio for my next one actually!
I fell in love with your editing skills, I'm surprised! I appreciate your effort!
Thank you so much, this means a lot to me
What a surprise after 3 years
PLZ DO NOT STOP MAKING VIDEOS PRIMARILY CUZ YOU HAVE A CERTAIN STYLE.. HARD 2 KOME BY
This and Ogre Battle are my favorite N64 games. Nice to see people still talking about it and doing videos. You may have actually helped me figure out how to beat this game on Ultimate (I want to do a playthrough as an alien). It never occurred to me that you can do the 5 matches/survival to build up your character outside the campaign to build them up. In order to build up your stats and learn new moves, you literally gotta get hit by everything and on ultimate that doesn't work since you can't get hit more than once. It wouldn't be so bad if save points were more frequent.
Thank you for telling me! It makes me so happy to know I actually directly helped someone ♥
I've never heard of this game at all, the gameplay seems really interesting. It would be cool if at the end of a fight you had the option to watch a "normal speed" version of the fight where all the time spent making decisions on moves was removed. If a random game like Phantom Dust could get a reboot (well...it did and that was canceled but...) maybe this could get some kind of spiritual successor.
Maybe, I honestly wonder if the director is even still in the game industry
damn good and unique game!
Absolutely! I hope to see some sort of development on it's ideas in some random indie game or something. I feel like it's perfect for a smaller game, and hell maybe it could even get real tournament play!
If I'm not mistaken, Hybrid Heaven was heavily inspired by the movie Blade Runner.
It definitely wouldn't surprise me. I mean there's already a "replicant" style group of humanoids and there's at least an attempt to have a more serious, low key atmosphere, especially by N64 standards.
The only thing I hated about this game is that once all enemies in a room are defeated, they are gone for good and will not respawn. For an rpg game, this prevents grinding to max your character. I beat the ga!e several times but never maxed out my character
whats up gamers
I've been trying to replay this game but chose ultimate difficulty at the start Is there a way for me to save the battle data for a new game to grind levels or is that only after you completely clear the game which doesn't make any sense why you would be able to level up after you've already beaten it.. in ultimate the second enemy hits you for 90% of your health every hit.
Try chameleon, the 2005 game that uses the mafia engine
I looked it up, reminds me a lot of the older Hitman games, and I like those!
@@GiovannaDioneStarson it uses the "hide in the shadows" thing, obv inspired by manhunt, I somehow got a copy without getting a virus, its a preety good game, the only time the game crashed was in a train level but after the 3rd crash, the game was fine again, well for a forgotten game thats preety ok
@@talpatv512 hopefully it can get a digital storefront release of some kind, especially now with stuff like Metro, Pathologic, and Chernobyl bringing a lot more eyes to Eastern European game devs.
@@GiovannaDioneStarson tbh I just riscked it and downloaded the game from some shady looking site, the game was only sold in 3 eastern european countries and as a eastern european, I still could not find a legit copy, im even surprised the game has a wiki page
@@GiovannaDioneStarson hey, I remember now, I downloaded the game after i saw a link from a review, and after installing it (the game is in czech) i install an english patch in the game, I have links for both things if you want them
This is dope
Thank you so much! 💖
