- A suspect who robbed another man at a gas station was killed in a crash after the victim pursued him. Initial reports that were later confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department indicate that a 21-year-old man was at a gas station in L.A.'s West Adams neighborhood on Saturday evening when a group of armed men approached him and robbed him. The suspects then fled the scene in a white sedan, and the victim gave chase in a Mercedes-Benz SUV. (June 30, 2024)

It's a serious felony plus enhancements to use a firearm in the commission of a crime in LA. You can't cry that crime is somehow legal in LA but the state is wrong to be tough on firearms. If you use a gun to commit a violent crime, you're going to prison, period. Even firing a gun for no reason means jail.
That A-list rapper Tory Lanez got drunk at a party in the Hollywood Hills, got in an argument with that female Megan Thee Stallion rapper, and fired a gun toward her feet. Long story short, he's got 10 years after fighting it in court, and he's going to be deported back to Canada when he's out of prison.
On the plus side a 20 year sentence in Cali will get you turned loose in about four.

I've worked since I was old enough to hustle. Started babysitting, braiding hair, selling snacks at school, all sorts of stuff. Then a life of clocking in and out starting at 15yrs old. Never has it crossed my mind to take something from someone else. If I want it, I work for it. Nowadays there's DoorDash, Ubereats, LaborReady... there's money out there, but these young ppl are lazy and entitled. I'm glad he stood up for himself and I hope he is ok. Its not just California law. This is across the whole country. The original victim rammed their car into the suspects car causing them to crash. Prior to this, the original had "no reasonable fear" to ram their car into the suspects car. If the original suspects shot at the original victim's car then the ramming happened, then it would be justified as self-defense. At the end of the day, the original victim will be charged. Basically, you can't ram your car into a thief's car when the act of stealing has passed. If the original rammed his car into the thief while the thief was stealing, then its different.
