Join me for a DIY garden makeover! I'm finally doing my DIY project of adding pea stone to our raised garden pathways. After my project, I'm sharing where I got some of my garden and lavender lemonade inspiration with a tour of the beautiful gardens of Pickety Place. It was also the inspiration for the illustration in Little Red Riding Hood.

I love the pea stone, it looks like a English or French garden. The cobblestones are a nice touch. Your property is just Heaven on earth🌱🌱🌱

If you use a heavy metal garden rake and flip the tines upward, you can push and pull the flat edge to easily smooth out that pea gravel.

Pickety Place is magical....my sweet husband takes me to lunch there quite often...I always get the lavender lemonade..it’s delicious...I would suggest that everyone who lives in New England make the trip...the food is beyond compare, and the grounds are so peaceful, and the folks who work there are just lovely! Also, your garden looks excellent with the pea stone...I’m always so happy listening to your informative and inspired videos!

What a beautiful video! That's a lot of hard work you're putting into your garden but it's going to be worth it. I once told 50 bags of pine bark mulch into our garden and I did it by myself I loaded the car and drove home, then I had to pull those bags through the yard to the garden area. So I know it's a lot of work but ensure the stone is even so much heavier. Very lovely trip to the Little Red Riding Hood cottage! Those flowers are gorgeous.

I love pea stone. A thick layer is so much better. If the pea stone moves a quick raking will refresh it.

Good Morning Linda... You have inspired me to put some pea stone in my garden path. I just love your home and the outside is just as beautiful as the inside. Great job well done can't wait to see the finish paths. I have tried growing poppies but no luck but I am going to see if I can fine that pink iris I love the colour of them! I live in Ontario, Canada and I can still see snow can't wait to have some warmer weather!

Happy mothers day! The Pea gravel looks beautiful, loved the peach iris. I have multi colored iris but the dam chipmunks toss them out of the ground. Love the poppies, which I can not grow. I have roses in my back yard and pernials that grow in my front beds with lots of fall bulbs. My side bed is a mess, thinking of tearing somethings out and putting in white and pink shrub roses and a couple cone shaped hydrangea, love the Strawberry one. Has pink and white in it. Roses are so easier with fertilizing sticks that last for 8 weeks. No more weekly fertilizing. Love your garden, moving my raised beds for veggies thinking of doing something like that. Probably next yr.

My area is a few beds near around my house. Hoping to deter the cat next door. It will be my 2 girls and myself. More yard inspirations. Love your video.

Hey, the older we get the better it is to slow down. When I go out to my garden I have to follow a routine before ever getting there. I need squeeze into my Spanx to hold certain areas in, then my knee brace, then my back brace, my shoe support inserts, my hat, my garden gloves, my allergy inhaler, allergy pill and nose spray. Hahahaha. I have learned over the past 20 years what works and what doesn't. I set my egg timer for 3 hours, set in on the patio table and make myself come I when it rings. Then I stretch, take an Epson salts bath and stretch some more. I am still stiff and sore, until I get acclimated. It takes longer every year. I will be 65 in July, hubs is 67. He does yoga and plates and works out every day. He is a God Send. My aching back thanks God every day. The aging struggle is real. However, there is nothing more satisfying than sitting on our covered patio in mid summer, with our rum and coke or wine and enjoying our efforts. You can only do, what you CAN. ENJOY! Your garden, it is off to a fabulous start. There is no room for perfection in a garden. Dig the hole and stick it in the ground. God and Mother Nature will take over. Yours looks wonderful already! Loved the Pickety Place tour as well! What a glorious place! I would love to see their herb garden wheel area, in full bloom as well. Yes! Keep us updated on yours too! Garden videos bring out the Tasha Tudor and Beatrix Potter in we "rooted in" Gardener's. Sorry I got so lengthy. Love your special touches and attention to detail.

We just picked up over 100 bags recently. Thankfully we have a flat bed trailer and the store had a forklift. Then our two grown sons helped us lay the stone. My husband was in a car accident last summer and broke his back in 8 places do his back is not what it use to be. Those bags are very heavy!

I love pea gravel. Linda Vater was my inspiration to use it at our house. I spread over a hundred bags in the paths up back last year and I have not regretted it. My poor hubby could only bring a couple of bags in the wheelbarrow at a time because they were so heavy(he is 78) and then I would open them and spread them(I am almost 74). Yours is looking wonderful. It takes time to do it all❤️❤️❤️

I have similar raised garden with the exact same fence. Unfortunately the ground hog has managed to learn to climb it. I notice you have a some additional fencing attached to your fence. Is it hardware wire? Also , instead of pea gravel I used larger stone for my pathways. I originally used pea gravel but it had to be replenished too often. Your bed is lovely. You inspired me to edge mine with pavers . I probably should have done that originally but I was in a hurry to get the tomatoes planted.
