Hopefully, in the next episode they somehow deal some real damage to mahito somehow. Maybe todo can use a domain expansion to have abdamaging hit to mahito. Or maybe even simple domain like Miwa's. Wouldn't be so hard to believe that todo could learn by watching her do the move countless of times. Plus, that could tie it all in with miwa's story of her feeling useless. It could show that she's is not useless. She's weak but everybody plays the role the best they can and to do that is to be useful. Like ijichi, he might not be in the fights but he takes his work seriously and is putting his life on the line by being on the battlefield to gather intel despite having very likited knowledge and skills of curse techniques and energy.
It didnt hurt because physical damage doesnt affect mahito, you have to be able to hurt his soul directly which only nobara and itadori have shown to do. Really sucks tho because in the manga they at least made the black flash LOOK like it hurt.

It wasnt about doing damage, it was about getting in the zone, he had to make sure he was on yujis level, as hes hit so many black flashes its unreal
