Thank you for checking out my brand new UA-cam channel! I’ve got a lot of exciting videos planned for my pioneer homestead and I’d love your feedback so please leave a comment. God bless.
Beautifully done Sir, What is the LxWxH of the cabin And can you give me a list of the tools that you are using for your build. It helps me understand things better. Thank you for your videos I love historical architecture and the cowboy Way of life 🤠🤠❤❤❤
@@DonnaLane-pw4rg Thank you. Internally the back and the sides are 14 feet long but the front is 16 feet, I didn't do that on purpose but that's how it turned out. Externally the cabin is much larger, the sod walls are between 30 inches and 12 inches thick and the roof extends beyond that to help prevent erosion. The height is probably 6 feet tall on the sides and almost 8 feet in the center. The tools have been very basic, a few different shovels, saws, hammers, axes, knives, but the most interesting is probably the sod cutter I made. You can see that a few episodes back. I'm glad you're enjoying the videos!
I love your videos, the choice of music, you read scripture, pray, and you journal... Very much like some of the pioneers who recorded their experiences. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong era. Of course the early writers and movie makers romanticized much of History mingled in with the reality of their hardships. Please keep filming...
Partner, have to say your doing a great job and I really appreciate historical western videos and content. We are from the Black Hills and share your passion. God bless!
My father was raised by a Grandmother that experienced exactly what you are re-creating. I got to hear such stories about how we were Sooners and NOT Boomers. As she put it we were Smarter ones. Our wagon was on The-Line but our menfolk had been out there for weeks scoutin' and meeting the locals. She made it to 100, and so did my other G-Gma...city girl that one was, rode a train out west. Home grown myself. Watonga born, raised between Longdale and Canton. 1000 acres of living the life.
Young man, you have struck a chord in my soul! This is the precise watch I have been searching for. You can count yourself a historian. Thank you very much!
Hello Cowboy. I just discovered your channel and started watching it right from the first video. You have a great style, I love it. I hope you continue for a long time. I will share it with my friends to support you. By the way, I fell in love with all the tools you used. I wish them continued success. Loves from Turkey. : )
Awesome video. Yeah I love to see people still care to try this type of camping. Makes me realize how it was back in their day. Love your videos I want to watch more!😊
I'm from South Africa & subbed to your channel months ago. However life got in the way. I'm fascinated by pioneers & I started @ the very first upload. I'm confused as to how you got the wagon there as I don't see a horse. Anyhoo this is by far the best channel on YT. Awesome thanks 🌍🇿🇦💌🙏👍
I appreciate that, thank you. Sadly I don't have any horses, hopefully one day I can buy horses to use in the videos but right now I'm just using a tractor. A good friend of mine just moved to South Africa, she's super excited about it.
Congratulations on the work, I really liked the videos, thank you for sharing them with us, bringing back memories of the difficult journey of colonization.
Love this videos. And it is as usual very disturbing with such videos, when UA-cam puts commercials in between. And they always have the kind of commercial content, that shows me, that this pioneer life makes sense, while our modern society is just superficial and sick.
I was surprised you did not have a "cowboy bed roll" oil skin and a blanket instead of the two blankets. an oilskin would keep your body off the ground. yes I agree they are not cheap to buy.
Great question! Right now I'm thinking I'll have a sod house, a workshop that I can put my wagon inside of if there's a bad storm, and an ice house to store ice I've collected in the winter all year round.
Your latest video just came up on my feed. Subscribed to your channel and starting at the beginning. I’m SW of Enid near Drummond. What part of the state are you in? TC
Mostly I'm just bringing clean water or hoping for the best with the creek water (I won't do that again lol) but once the cabin is done I'll work on a dedicated water purifier.
@@WesternPioneerExcellent! I watched you with the creek water, and was afraid you’d poop yourself inside out! Have an excellent day, your channel rocks!
I sent my horse to go get me whisky but it's been a while so I think he ran off with my money. Thank you! If the channel does take off I think it's only proper that I buy a horse, the channel needs one!
Thank you! I'm in southern Oklahoma, not too far from Texas. I just looked at my channel analytics and 0.7% of my viewers are from Uruguay, I love looking at stuff like that, thank you for watching!
Hi,I am one of your followers and I have a question at night: Is it true that you sleep in the wilderness after turning off the lamp or only in front of the camera and then go to sleep in your car because the area is dangerous and contains snakes, insects, and perhaps predatory animals?
It can be a mix of both depending on the weather, I don't have a good set up for rain. This was filmed during winter so I didn't need to worry about snakes and bugs. There are coyote but they don't seem to bother people.
Thank you for checking out my brand new UA-cam channel!

great videos, feels like stepping back in time, from deep in the heart of Texas, thanks and God bless the cowboys.
Thank you!
What a great start to this journey! It's really interesting getting to see that wagon filled with all those antiques. This was a fun watch!
I appreciate that, thank you so much!
Im excited for this series. Episode 4 came up on my feed. Gotta start here first!
Been looking for this for years thanks for doing this time period love it
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I've been thinking about this for 7 years, I'm happy I'm finally doing it and the responses have been wonderful.
That is a beautiful covered wagon.
Thank you, I restored it myself.
@@WesternPioneerYou did an amazing job on it. Lovely colours on it.
@@CWF-ez5ru That means a lot to me thank you.
@@WesternPioneer Are the bows made of wood?
@@CWF-ez5ru Yes they are. And they're a lot stronger than I imagined they would be.

I am also from the hills and when I go out hunting/hiking I try to do similar things to this.
There is another Wyoming Cowboy living out the dream, “0ver on the wild side” UA-cam channel.
This is awesome

Just found your channel. Love anything pioneering. Feel like I’m watching a good ol’ western movie.

I was surprised you did not have a "cowboy bed roll" oil skin and a blanket instead of the two blankets. an oilskin would keep your body off the ground. yes I agree they are not cheap to buy.
Yeah I really wanted one and it would have been great to show for historical accuracy but yeah I couldn't find one cheap enough.
I just subscribed. Looks like you have a fun journey ahead. A lot of hard work but it will be worth it.
Thanks for sharing
I think you need to upgrade your wagon with a i4 gas engine😂😂
That would have way more horse power!
What buildings will the homestead have ? Great video

I have liked and subscribed Pa, it's Mary that didn't do her part yet!
Laura! What did you do with the horses?! 😂
Your video remind me of the move dancing width wolf !!!
That’s a fantastic movie, thank you.

That's a fer piece from me Brother! Most folks don't know just how big a state Oklahoma really is!

Just started watching, started watching # 10, love what I see! How do you filter your water?
Mostly I'm just bringing clean water or hoping for the best with the creek water (I won't do that again lol) but once the cabin is done I'll work on a dedicated water purifier.

I always wanted to live like a cowboy, just one question, where's your horses?? I mean that's definitely part of the cowboy experience right?
I'll be able to afford them one day.
This is cool. You cheetin son of gun
❤
where are the horses and cows.
Only complaint I have is why in the world did he camp so far from the trees and water source?
The wide angle camera lends makes it look farther away than it is.
