I have been standing since June of this year. Over the last year I got Sciatica in my left leg from sitting too much. Literally my hobby and job are sitting. I probably sat for 6-12 hours a day. But since it started really hurting and ruining everything in my life, I started standing all the time (Other than pooping and driving, which are painful).
I feel this guy's experience but so much more. The first month was all about pain in the surface of my feet and knees and being tired all the time. After that, my feet callused up so much that i wasn't ticklish in my feet anymore as it visibly thickened up. I also couldnt feel much through them for a while as the nerves hadn't developed. It felt like I had meat slippers on until recently... where the pain returned to say hello.
I also noticed that my heart rate significantly decreased. From 70ish BPM at rest sitting (measured at the doctor's for many years) to 50ish BPM at rest standing (measured at the doctor's now). Although not much weight change nor do I feel physically better. As a note, I exercise at the gym and hike regularly, eat 3.2kCal a day, 195lbs, 6'6" (big body with tons of spine leverage that hits hard during standing).
Overall, I dislike almost all of it. Sitting freaking rules and standing all day sucks. It makes me unproductive, tired, in pain, and sore in my butt every day. Like everything in life, strike a balance so you don't end up like me with Sciatica at 29 yrs old. I am still working on my Sciatica pain with a PT and hoping to poop in peace some time soon. #realLifeGoals

That must suck... Honestly, I can't imagine not being able to sit, especially only at 29.
However, seeing as you're doing a lot of exercise and hopefully taking care of your body, I hope the pain can become more bearable over time.
This made me think about how much I sit for a minute after I read your comment.... If I don't sit less soon, I probably won't be doing too great either. I'll definitely keep this comment on my mind so just want to tell you, this actually made me think about my sitting habits which is a big deal so thank you for being so open about your problem in a UA-cam comment

Depression sets in when you realize that Browney and Arjen AND Pigmie are all standing and you are sitting.
I am no doctor or anything, but standing for too long doesn't seem too healthy either. It is very common for people who have professions where they have to stand for long periods of time, such as teachers, te experience varicose veins issues for instance.
I started following pigmie because of his flip tutorials, then turned out to a full blown challenges, pretty good content

I suggest if you are going to do this challenge, you don’t bend or slouch a lot. With the legs, don’t bend them like what he did.
These short videos are funny, but also very interesting and maybe little weird sometimes😅
Advice from marching band standing 12 hours a day for a week when you initially start you really have to focus on posture and not locking your legs and when you get to rest do leg drains just sit against the wall with your legs in the air for 10 minutes makes all the difference as you get used to it and keeping the good posture becomes natural

The store from my house one way is like 10 miles. At 2 miles per hour that’s 5 hours to get to the store. So I am looking at an all day trip to the grocery store
I imagin it would be better if he slowly increased the amount he was standing instead of just jumping into it. Like anything slow progression is important.

ı was a barista 1 week ago and ıdindt sit or lay down for 12 hours a day not even 1 minute we make caffe,throw the trash away or go to the depot for the coffe or cup and cleaning first week its hard but after third month its not hard rlly its overpowered ı guess

4:02 there’s no way these numbers are accurate. With these numbers you could spend 12 hours a day sitting and 12 hours a day standing and burn 3900 calories. Something must be really off there.
