I thought she looked strange during the application but the end result made her look radiant and fresh and more youthful. Beautiful technique. Too much makeup for me but I'm game if it can withstand heat and humidity.
For all wondering what studio finish concealer she used I don't think she mentioned the exact one because towards the end of the video she says it needs to match your exact skin tone.
This was really helpful. I might need to watch it again so that I can really soak in those brilliant tips. I live in Queensland, Australia where it is humid and hot 95% of the time and I work in a cafe so my makeup is doing exactly what Vimi described. I've never been able to figure out what to do to fix, so I'm honestly really thankful. (By the way, this is the first MAC video that I have found useful and not simply 'pretty'. However, the lighting is crap because you can't 'see the pigments'.)
Studio finish concealer and studio fix is all I need. I hate the end of the day cracking and caking. Under-eyes don't like a lot of makeup. They rebel when you don't listen to them!
Try the corrector people ! It works! I went to mac counter and an Indian artist there showed me those correctors and the cover the discolouration so your foundation is even and most of all doesn't look grey or ashy! I'm in the shade nc 42 and nc 44 in summer but wear my corrector round my mouth and darker part of my eyes even the lids and the put on concealer....it's sort of an extra step but I can't afford to leave it out if I want flawless finish :-)
Idian skin is considered to be dark and have the same issues with pigmentation that much deeper tones have. So this technique would work well on olive tones all the way down.
please start listing the products used in the description, use better lighting, and when tge artist is applying dont jump cut away! we would all love to learn from MAC videos.
yeah I think it's the lighting because in other shots, she looks completely fine but in certain ones she looks really yellow. I think it's the whole lighting of how they shot the video. Hopefully they'll use better lighting to show the actual pigment and color of the makeup.
I agree w/ you! I'm bias of coarse, b/c I use to work for the company. So I don't take makeup, or any of the videos made by a professional or aspiring artist/guru seriously. For me makeup is about having fun, everyone's technique & style is different. My favorite makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin never followed the rules, which is very boring in my opinion. That's the main reason why I got into makeup in the first place, I don't want to be over analyzing every detail! Lol
Why cant we have more MAC artists like her and Fatima at the local locations? Most of the counter girls seem to lack knowledge. I think every MAC counter should have a master artist.
I live in the Middle East and Studio Finish concealer makes lines under my eyes it is necessary to prove makeup powder because it will only stay two hours and will disappear completely I hope to become a Makeup Artist in the Middle East because I will do makeup better because I live and I know very fully air that moisture and heat
I have 2 things that are so wrong with this look. 1. the foundation is waaay too yellow. It might be the lighting but when she was applying the products I kept saying, "That is too yellow". And the second thing is that without setting everything with a sort of powder, it looked too oily and it looks like if she lived in a very hot climate, her face would literally fall off. So a pro should know to apply a powder in the first place. But the technique was a great one though for the darkness
unfortunately I could not benefit much from this video because nothing was clear to see. The light is so bad in the studio. Now I have to look some where else that explains what you showed, to find the info. I need. anyway, thanks
see!! i know im not the only one! so you say Bobbie Brown? were both NC30. what shade did you get for the concealer? but back to the NW...i think color theory has times when it just doesnt work, especially for yellow people lol
all the technique vids r in this lighting style. Clearly we respect the senior artists...that's why we want to drink in all the info. Try to not be so hostile.
Is the mineral charged face moisturizer ok for acne prone skin? My skin gets dry & flaky when it's cold, but if I use stuff for dry skin, I break out...
Love this!!! Only people with the pigmentation round there mouth and eyes will know what you mean.... Everyone else who aren't around your shade or even two to three shades either way can piss of!!! Must say tho the lighting didn't do your tutorial justice :-) funny how u had to mix two colours to get your foundation shade lol everyone is so unique in there complexion.... U can't just pick up a bottle and think it will work, anyway
i dont understand why people put NW concealers in an NC face...i know it has to do with canceling the oxidation underneath the dermis under our eyes, but then, you end up having this pink under eye effect (NW = Pink Undertones), especially when your undertones are yellow...if you have a good concealer it SHOULD conceal the problem area. and besides this technique id say only works for women/men of color. especially near the mouth. ive tried it and efter an hour the pink just becomes too notable.
mac videos are so artfully shot. i love them. but the colour/lighting for this video is a total bust! please mac, get someone with editing skills to sort out these garish yellow and orange hues!
I really cannot figure out why- she's explaining that she uses the studio finish concealer but she does not SHOW US how she uses it... the video goes from her warming the product up between her fingers to - *POOF* - the product is on her face. How frustrating is this? How are we supposed to learn how to use the products?
One of the best videos MAC has done so far, information-wise. The artist gives great information, speaks well. Now if only MAC would stop trying to make it feel "fashionable" by using terrible lighting and bad camera work. Admittedly, this is some of the better camera work MAC has done thus far, as well... but still terrible. Please find another way to express your individuality that doesn't undermine the value of the video itself.
I honestly think the lighting in this video is terrible. She had a yellow tone before she even started applying makeup, it also effected the colour of the makeup she was applying.
They def need to learn how to use better lighting, bc these videos are makeing them mac look really bad! Its sad that the gurus on youtube are better then this! I'm sure it wasn't meant to look bad at all but the lighting makes a biiggggg diffrence!
I don't like this video because we can what she's doing... Why did you guys keeping moving the camera away from her face? Her foundation looks too yellow and I can still see the bags under her eyes.
Surely MAC accidentally uploaded this video because the shitty lighting does NOTHING for Vimi. Do they really expect to convince us to buy the products she used when she looks so yellow?
was it just me or was that the worst ever did anyone else notice that her whole face was yellow or really discolored it looked like she put on two concealers and then some bronze blush where was the foundation why didn't anything match how was her color that off was it just technique
How is that darker skin? Aren't black people "dark skin"? I expected to click on this and see a black/ darker skinned person... instead I see a medium skin tone.. olive at best. What's up with that? Would a real "dark skinned person" be called "BLACK SKIN"? Would that tutorial be called "black skin concealing"? =/ I'm disappointed, Mac.
this entire video is a joke. the lighting and camera work is terrible, her skin prep advice is questionable, and that's not even a good colour match for her. funny how she holds up the concealer to her skin while saying it has to be a perfect match.... and it's not. let's face it, MAC shades are very limited and that is not befitting for a brand that calls itself a pro artist brand.
Idian skin is considered to be dark and have the same issues with pigmentation that much deeper tones have. So this technique would work well on olive tones all the way down.
Yayyy!!! Vimmi & Mickey Contractor are my FAVORITES!!! :D
I thought she looked strange during the application but the end result made her look radiant and fresh and more youthful. Beautiful technique. Too much makeup for me but I'm game if it can withstand heat and humidity.
Thank you for these advice and for this invaluable precision

Now this is a good video!
Loved it. Informative and practical :D
Thanks heaps
i love mac makeup!!!!!
Studio finish concealer and studio fix is all I need. I hate the end of the day cracking and caking. Under-eyes don't like a lot of makeup. They rebel when you don't listen to them!
Love this please do more videos vimi
Best MAC video so far, and yes the lighting is not great but love the technique
Nice tutorial Mac...but I agree with the lighting. Maybe a bit too bright BUT I agree and love Vimi's concealer tips
Try the corrector people ! It works! Great tips.. And a great video
really good to know since i live in hawaii
She very pretty!

Great video!

Very informal video!!!

Very informative!
I miss the old videos on the webside, like Romeo, Fatima and the others. Please back ! :S
Again, which goes first? Concealer or foundation?? Guess it's a about techniques....try and see what is best....still learning, thanks for the tips!
Cool thanks!
if you are looking for technique on how to do your make up watch pixiwoo...

Beautiful

MAC please make the videos in a better light so we can see the pigments. Thank you.

This is GREAT if you love YELLOW!
nice video i bthink i am going to mac now lol
unfortunately I could not benefit much from this video because nothing was clear to see. The light is so bad in the studio. Now I have to look some where else that explains what you showed, to find the info. I need. anyway, thanks
great video but the title is misleading. Her skin is far away from being dark.
see!! i know im not the only one! so you say Bobbie Brown? were both NC30. what shade did you get for the concealer?
but back to the NW...i think color theory has times when it just doesnt work, especially for yellow people lol
That lighting was really strange it changed the color of the makeup but the technique was nice ill try that
all the technique vids r in this lighting style. Clearly we respect the senior artists...that's why we want to drink in all the info. Try to not be so hostile.
The artist said NW concealer under the eye gives warmth... I'm confused :/ Doesn't the NW concealer mean it is cool toned?
i think the lighting is weird coz in some frames she looks flawless.
Yeah it seems that way, hey! MAC need better lighting so we can really see what's going on.
Is the mineral charged face moisturizer ok for acne prone skin?
My skin gets dry & flaky when it's cold, but if I use stuff for dry skin, I break out...
so do we not need to set the concealer with powder at all?
how MAC upload this video?

so yellow!
Im so confused, she is a warm skin tone, why is she using NW(cool tone color) concealer for her undereye?
nice but its like a movie? i think they should do the demo on broad daylight
U can still c the yellow correction on her under eyes :O
Which blush did she use?
which corrector do u use?
Which blush was used??

MAC please use true colours for the tutorials! now. the concealers look like they are so so wrong when i now how good they are in real.
Why is everything so yellow?
mac videos are so artfully shot. i love them. but the colour/lighting for this video is a total bust! please mac, get someone with editing skills to sort out these garish yellow and orange hues!
this is darker skin?
OK the skin is not even dark lol

this looks like it was filmed in the 80s
looks like harmony or buff...! :)
love the video but hate the lighting they always use for the M.A.C videos.
bad lighting but very informative
lets all comment about how yellow she looks as if everyone didnt notice!!!!!!!!!!!!!~
I agree the videos are hreat but the lighting is aweful. Please fix!!
I don't know why but her voice to me kinda sounds like Cher Lloyd... probably just me...
Poor lighting & camera angle. But very informative artist.
liked how she explained herself, but the lighting Israel crap and cant see much ...
is it just me or both concealers and the foundation do not match her skin? and are way too yellow... maybe it's the lighting...
I don't understand why you use this type of lighting!
the lighting makes her face look so oily :(
The colour of conceal she was using seems really yellow, does not look matching her skin tone at all!
Everything she used was way too yellow.
honestly can't tell if this works because of the horrible lighting
Oh and do you actually think makeup artists recommend putting makeup on in a dark studio?? LOL....all of their videos have a dark dungeon type feel.
she looks yellow !!

too much of a greenish/yellowish undertone. the technique is good though
They def need to learn how to use better lighting, bc these videos are makeing them mac look really bad! Its sad that the gurus on youtube are better then this! I'm sure it wasn't meant to look bad at all but the lighting makes a biiggggg diffrence!

the face looks soooo yellow...
Surely MAC accidentally uploaded this video because the shitty lighting does NOTHING for Vimi. Do they really expect to convince us to buy the products she used when she looks so yellow?
The artist made a lot of effort to explain but the terrible lighting and bad camera angles really spoiled it for me!
was it just me or was that the worst ever did anyone else notice that her whole face was yellow or really discolored it looked like she put on two concealers and then some bronze blush where was the foundation why didn't anything match how was her color that off was it just technique
This video is created very badly, it looks cheap, the lighting is terrible and the over all quality is just bad.
The lighting is horrible and that is the worst thing on a video about MAKEUP. 🤦♀️
I feel like I can do my makeup better than her hahahaha
the lighting definiately makes her skin/foundation look greenish-yellow...gross
The lighting is like rubbish.
Way too much makeup... one can look like a yellow birthday cake with this much amount of makeup.
Not a good look from a MAC PRO!
Its not really a beautiful even undertone... more like a mustard color.
Is this video a joke??
The color looks so bad!
this entire video is a joke. the lighting and camera work is terrible, her skin prep advice is questionable, and that's not even a good colour match for her. funny how she holds up the concealer to her skin while saying it has to be a perfect match.... and it's not. let's face it, MAC shades are very limited and that is not befitting for a brand that calls itself a pro artist brand.
they ran out of products so she had to make do with what was available saddly
She doesnt sound competent hahahaha
great video!
Idian skin is considered to be dark and have the same issues with pigmentation that much deeper tones have. So this technique would work well on olive tones all the way down.
