This popped up in my feed around the end of 2019 which was an extremely difficult time in my life for me. On top of the awkward in-between phase of being a teenager but also an adult, I cut off several friends from my life. Working in the back of a shitty department store, they never looked out for us listening to music. So many shifts closing out with this... I'm not really sure if it helped me necessarily, but the fact that I can look back to such a low time and remember this mix fondly says something I think.
6 years ago I binged this mix while grieving for my mom, whom I lost in December 2015. Music was a big part of what kept me going and this mix played a huge part in it. Still a fire playlist in 22, thank you Mittens.

I discovered FreeTEMPO through this playlist a while back and I quickly became obsessed. Takeshi Hanzawa, the musician behind FreeTEMPO, hasn't published any music under the name for about a decade now. I recently found out we'll be getting a new FreeTEMPO album this year and I'm excited about it!

Man this playlist makes me feel so nostalgic for my childhood during the early-mid 2000s. Playing games like jet set radio, persona 3, psychonauts, watching anime like death note, case closed, ouran and guren lagann.
