Wonderful. Brought back many memories as visited Sorrento many times since the 1970's. Last time was 2004 and , for me, the pedestrianisation of the Corso Italia has taken the charm and character away somewhat. I must ve getting old for I don't like change... Very good though and a bottle of Borolo helped the enjoyment... Thanks

Check out all of Prowalks walking tours. He's the best there is- relaxed pace, stays still with the camera when there is something particular beautiful or interesting to see, then he moves on. If you need relaxation, and who doesn't these days, pls do look up his other tours. He has a two hour Positano walk from a year or two ago, and it is spectacularly beautiful.

My wife and I were there in 2019. Loved it. Next time we will stay at Positano.
We hope to go in 2022. The Amalfi coast has got to be one of the most beautiful areas in the world. We plan to stay 3-4 nights in Positano as well. Can't wait. Hope you can make it back soon.
@@kensellar - It's fantastic scenery. We took the bus that leaves from the station and did a round trip. You can get on and off the bus along the route to Amalfi town. We want to stay at Positano next time we go. Enjoy your trip.

When we visited Sorrento, I had already seen your walk video of the town a few times and was familiar with the layout, but really it is much more beautiful than I had expected, had lunch at piazza tasso, walked around all day, in the evening took the cirumvesuviana train back to naples, thank you isaac, this is really special to me.

Hi there, Dave! We hope to visit Sorrento and the rest of the Amalfi coast in 2022. I am sure we will love it as much as you obviously did. So nice to exchange friendly comments on UA-cam instead of some of the exchanges I've had with trolls who espouse their political or religious beliefs where it is completely inappropriate! I can't wait to see the piazza tasso myself. I'll just walk around in a dreamy daze the first day, I'm sure! If I may impose, can you tell me where you had your best meals in Sorrento?
@@kensellar Hi Ken, I appreciate your comment, I can't remember the name of the restaurant but it is right in the Centre of Piazza Tasso, next to the steps going down the gorge, the pizza and lazzagna were excellent along with the dessert, reasonable prices too, go down those steps and walk by the beach, wish you a great trip.

You do such an amazing work virtually taking us to beautiful places. Any plans to do a walk in Monaco, Côte d'Azur, Norther Italy, anytime soon?
Hey, thanks. I appreciate it. I don't have plans to be up there this fall but hopefully in the Spring I'll head up north. Maybe in the winter I'll head up to Bolzano and a few other Northern Italy towns after their is some snow.
Fantastic video! 5 weeks ago I was given a choice visit Sorrento or back to Positano that Ive visited before. Now watching this..I shouldve gone to Sorrento..though dont get me wrong..I love Positano but I can see its more built up for Tourism..but Sorrento ...im gobsmacked on how much there is to see, go, view.! So Ive booked up for next August for my 5th Return to Rome..but will extend it to Sorrento for couple days.
.as it will take more than a couple hours to see all its beauty! Thank you so much for making me go to this lovely historical place in 2021!

@@Maloenton-Agency yes I did! Loved it! Very colourful, busy, bursting with aromas,of those huge lemons!! Loved the lanes,like a rabbits warren!
Looks like Sorrento has gentrified in a good way over last decade... more walker friendly and english signage. I like to use that ramp near the lift to scurry down to ferry docks. It was a strategic base to do daytrips from, but I am guessing the little train to points north or bus to points south will be getting overcrowded. Last couple visits I based myself from Capri yet found the daytripping easy due to being out of synch with main crowd movements. I might even try a Naples base another time.

I've noticed that too. I'm kind of mixed on reaction. You don't want more people getting infected, but after the pain and suffering and death that beautiful Italy has gone through, it appears the people have such a need and love for life, such a love of each other, that it seems they are willing to take that risk for the love of breathing in the Amalfi coast sea air and smelling the baked goods, sweets and pasta along those amazing streets. As I say, I have mixed feelings. I wish them all good health. Italy is a place that reaches all the senses, and that seems to be the reason, I think.

I'm not sure if the Cloister of San Francesco was where William Bradford Bishop was allegedly spotted by one of his colleagues in Washington back in '78 when he was a fugitive for murdering his family. I know his colleague spotted him in a toilet in Sorrento. Just remembered it when I saw your video. Love the video btw. Was in Sorrento two years ago on a tour of the Amalfi Coast from Naples.
Been there on a day trip from Rome, but during the day. Was there only briefly for a couple of hours. Seems like a lot of shops to compete with each other, like i saw in Morocco.
