    Yay! I love that people are living amazing lives with the right treatment and support. Heck, you're healthier than lots of negative people because you pay extra attention to your health and see your doctor regularly.. Lots of people never get check ups. Congratulations on the wedding Jennifer, God bless you guys! 🙏🏻❤💕🌹

    Currently had my first ever 4th gen HIV test. I get my results next week. You made me so happy about getting tested rather then being scared, I know i’m negative,but it still scares me sometimes to get tested. Your videos are so normal vs the scary educational medical videos. Thank you so much.

      Don't forget that CD4s fluctuate all the time, in everyone. And that blip, I've had a small one like that also and it's nothing. For U=U, they say anything under 200 is safe, but I know for a fact that VL amount that is actually safe is higher than 200. They have to be conservative because it's the government, plus they don't want people pushing their luck.

    Jennifer it's true life expectancy is normal...but it's most of the time right? What about people having HIV from birth vs those getting it in 23 or those getting it in 40s. For the former, too much medication side effects can reduce life expectancy (please clear me if I'm wrong).

    So, my question still stands. What if you are undetectable when you leave your doctor's office, but you become detectable without knowing before your next appointment?
    Obviously, it can become detectable again, or they wouldnt even bother testing you every visit. So, cant you transmit HIV if you become detectable without knowing? I know two different guys who got HIV from a female through regular sex..It may be less common than male to female or male to male transmission, but it definitely happens.
    Im really just trying to educate myself about this, but this undetectable thing is where I get stumped. I mean, they are even announcing on tv and radio that the CDC says undetectable means untransmittable. Im not saying this isnt true, but since HIV can become detectable between doctor visits, it just seema like theres still a risk of transmission.

    • @Pozleigh
      @Pozleigh  5 років тому +1

      Www.preventionaccess.org/faq Levels of HIV don’t get to transmittable levels between appointments. In all of the studies that never occurred. That’s years and years of studies with over 75,000 condomless sex acts. Zero transmissions. The CDC says the levels are safe at a viral load of 200 and lower but I’ve heard from experts that a VL of up to 2000 is still safe. People don’t jump to levels of over 2000 between appointments if they are taking their meds every day. That isn’t a thing. The studies proved that scenario. Check out the FAQ page for U=U, this concern is addressed and explained.

    • @desertweasel6965
      @desertweasel6965 5 років тому +1

      Jennifer Vaughan so, they basically align appointments to be before any risk of it raising above detectable levels, allowing them to actually see it rising before it gets a chance? Make sense? If so, kinda answers my question.

    • @Pozleigh
      @Pozleigh  5 років тому +1

      david mark Yes exactly. And honestly when a medication works and it’s been monitored for awhile, it’s not normal for someone to all of a sudden lose their sensitivity to their med and become resistant. Most people get on a drug that works and stay on it for years to life. I don’t ever plan on changing mine, why mess with a good thing. 👍🏻

    I've been a silent viewer for a couple of years... Don't get me wrong, Jennifer does an absolutely amazing job at raising awareness about HIV. However, no matter how much she says she has come to terms with her diagnosis and enjoys a "normal" life, the very fact that she keeps repeating over and over again that she is "absolutely fine" and that she lives her life just like any other folks out there and even enjoys a better life expectancy than diabetics makes me believe that she hasn't fully accepted yet what happened.
    It seems like she is trying very hard to convince others and herself that her life is no different than other people who don't have health issues. The truth is that her life IS different than someone who doesn't have to deal with a chronic illness. Finally, if she had accepted her diagnosis and truly enjoyed her life as it is now, she would be sharing much more about the things she enjoys doing, and stop focusing so much on her HIV.
