Mother of pearl, you are a clothomancer with that thing! I never thought I would geek out over fashion videos like this, but I have to say that this is inspiring. I might not ever be compatible with this sort of clothing (I'd look great, except people think men in dresses are weird), but as a character concept artist this is incredibly useful. Thank you for sharing!
I decided that I’m tired of wearing tighter clothing, and prefer flowing fabric. I also can’t stand synthetics, so I’m making my own draped garments by dyeing my own fabric and using scarf buckles, sweater clips, etc. Your pareo looks like a 50 inch square, perhaps? Thanks for demonstrating so clearly the idea for anyone who wants to take up this very elegant way of dressing! ❤️🙂👍
Thank you, thank you. I love wraps. I'm going on a cruise in the Caribbean in a couple of weeks. I cannot wait to shop for fabrics, and try ALL OF YOUR CREATIONS.
OMG ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!! IVE SEARCHED VIDEOS TO LEARN THIS BUT THEY'VE ALL BEEN SO LIMITED AS IT PERTAINS TO ACTUAL SCARF DRESSES. THIS VIDEO IS PERFECT AND IM HEADED OUT IN THE MORNING TO GO SCARF SHOPPING CRAZY!!!!! THANKS GIRL! YOU'RE THE BEST
Hi! First of all I loved your video and you look great with the sarong models! I would like to know the measures of your sarong. Thank you and keep going like this xx
Aprox how big was your scarf? I love the pattern!! One or two safety pins in stratigic places on diff designs and you have a couple of great dresses to wear out with friends - not just a cover up to the beach. Great tutorial and very easy to follow and understand!!
OK, for the "more coverage": You make three knots in the scarf, one for each shoulder and then in the front to close it up. It might work better if you do this on the floor. Fold the scarf/sarong/fabric in double so that the front edges of the scarf meet in the middle. That is the front opening of the dress. Now, estimate enough space for your arms and tie the shoulder knots on both sides of this front opening. Lift the thing from the shoulder knots, and put it on. I think you can see it best in 6:32. The upper edge of the scarf goes from front knot to shoulder knot, under arm, shoulder knot at the back, over back, the other shoulder knot, under arm, shoulder knot in front and front knot again. It's a bit like a chiton (google it) except that the opening is in front and not on the side. For the vest - fold the scarf/sarong/fabric in two. You should have two corners in one of your hands, and hold the scarf from the middle with the other hand. Put your hands together and tie the corners to the middle. Put your hands through the holes, so that the knot is in your neck, and there you have it. You can google "scarf vest how to", to see a lot of tutorials, images and videos on how to do it.
She shows on the left how to do it...you fold the scarf double so that the front edges meet in the middle - tie knots on the shoulders about half the way from the front edge to the folded edge, so that there's space for your arms to go through, put your arms into those holes, and knot the front corners. You can see it best in 6:32.
Thank you very much for this. That last one you showed; I'd seen it on TV years and years ago, and couldn't remember exactly how to do it. Now I see what my problem was: I was over-complicating, trying to be fancier than was needed.
Ok, I think I just figured out how she did it on 6:30 Vest: use a tip and then 'create' a tip by just grabbing a part of the top line of the sarong. tie those together for your first armhole - do it for the other side. Then put your vest on an again: produce your own tips by just grabbing a part in the short side of the sarong (on your front) and tying it to a 'created' tip of the other side. Is that understandable? :D
I am new to Sarongs. Please help with the vest. Is the sarong horizontal? Which tassels do I tie together for the arms and the front? Thank you so much for your video.
WOW...MY LADY!! I use to watch this kind of videos always sceptical because the results are...hmmm, ugly and cheap, hahahaha! But you're NOT!!! I LOVE YOUR IDEAS!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!🙏🏻💖💕 BRAVO!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏
It obviously depends on your size. You need AT LEAST as long as the widest part of you (chest, hips, butt) + at least 4 inches to tie the knot, preferably 8 inches. (just try to tie a knot with a regular scarf. How much fabric do you need to be certain of that the knot holds?) Regular sarongs are 66 inches by 44 inches, she uses a square scarf (looks about 60 inches) and she looks rather small, so less area to cover - she can do more with smaller piece of fabric.
Fold the fabric in two - tie the corners with the middle upper edge. You should have like a big 8. Put your arms into the 8 holes, the knot should be in your neck, et voilà. Google "scarf vest" if you are still uncertain.
Thank you for sharing the video. You look so beautiful and I love the way to wear the sarong in many different ways. May I ask what’s the dimensions for that sarong? I want to buy the fabric and have my mom sew me one. Thank you!
these looks are gorgeous! unfortunately my scarf is too slim for the vertical style dresses and do short for the horizontal styles ^^" need to buy a bigger one
Love the video :) The "vest" was my favourite though how to make it wasn't very clear to me :( Hope you can explain it a little further. Thank you and wish you the best :D
What should the fabric measurements be RELATIVE TO ONE'S BODY? I like a lot of the styles, but people always show it with a fabric a certain size that fits them. Some of us are larger, so for beginners to know how to determine a good size fabric for the styles
I'm here in 2023! This video is amazing, thank you so much!

Sarongs are very versatile. I enjoy finding new ways to design the fabric which comes in beautiful patterns. Thanks for the course.
Oh my Goddess ! That is brilliant !! It's like taking a sheet and turning it into 11 dresses !!!

Thank you very much for this. That last one you showed; I'd seen it on TV years and years ago, and couldn't remember exactly how to do it. Now I see what my problem was: I was over-complicating, trying to be fancier than was needed.
I didn't understand where to make the ties to make the vest. Can you explain? Thanks!
Ok, I think I just figured out how she did it on 6:30
Vest: use a tip and then 'create' a tip by just grabbing a part of the top line of the sarong. tie those together for your first armhole - do it for the other side.

Is that understandable? :D

It’s not a scarf? It’s a Sarong. Way more fabric than a scarf.

Amazing magic! Is this silk or cotton?
That is amazing -thank you, you saved my summer !
How to tie the vest?? I don't see it... :(
Fold the fabric in two - tie the corners with the middle upper edge. You should have like a big 8. Put your arms into the 8 holes, the knot should be in your neck, et voilà. Google "scarf vest" if you are still uncertain.
