I've been going here for years and I think it's huge that the park is family-owned again. One of my favorite things from VIP day was that all the effects were working on Lost Coaster; back in the Apex and Morgan days a lot of them didn't work. I'm eager to see what the park will look like once they have a full off-season to work on the park; from my conversation with Gene at VIP day it seems like he has a lot of ideas of improvements he wants to make in the future!

Yeah if there’s one thing my parents have taught me is to only do nonstop flights. I’ve heard too many problems from people who’ve done connecting flights
Especially with short layovers. But with covid its hard to find direct flights to a lot of cities

if I can't get a nonstop, I always make sure I have a good 2-3 hour layover. anything less is too dangerous

not everyone has that option. There are about 5 cities that I can fly to nonstop. Everywhere else will have a layover in one of those 5 cities. I just make sure that the layover isn't too short if possible.
I am so glad that Gene Staples saved such a historic park and that it still seems to be going strong after so many years.

Hallelujah to this new owner for keeping this park from closing. I don't know when I'll be visiting this park for sure but I can promise you I'll get there one day.

I’ve been here countless times when I was younger. I was so happy when I found out it would reopen.
Makes me weary seeing the crouds and lack of precaution...but it makes me happy that it's open, might take a trip next year

I live 40 minutes from the park and I’ve been going for over 25 years. So happy it’s open again.

My dream was to go to Indiana Beach. It closed, I got sad, but now Indiana is back to rock!
I was just at Indiana beach last week (has such a blast everyone go visit!) but hoosier hurricane definitely got rough again.
I'd visit but the border's still closed. Oh well, Quebec government last week gave the all clear to open, so La Ronde will open when Six Flags is ready.
It's my home park and I hope it reopens soon

Airtime Thrills I heard Orion has good pops of airtime, especially at the end. It apparently has a lot of floater.
As someone who grew up in the town that Indiana Beach is located and worked for 6 seasons there, it makes me so happy to see the park reopened and looking like its in good shape. I haven't been able to visit yet, so I thank you for going so I could see what they've done to fix up the park. I'm glad Gene has put his heart and soul into the beach ❤. Keep up the great videos!
Can’t find the video I wanted so I’ll put it here: Although the future looked inevitable it appears that a new owner has come forward and is taking action to save and reopen fantasy island in the summer of 2021. Not much is known as of the changes being made but they plan to be releasing a 5 year plan soon
Grew up on this park, love this place. Can’t wait to visit soon again.

This is such a special park and I’ll always be grateful to Gene Staples for saving it.
If you want a wild ride on Lost Coaster, sit facing backward with no one next to you - you will be ragdolled.
As for Cornball, I couldn’t possibly disagree with you and Taylor more: it’s a back row ride. Not near the back - it has to be back row.

Ah man, i think i got 3rd to back row which is usually a good indicator of the back row experience, like on Twisted Colossus. But i rode Cyclops in the 3rd to back then back and it was totally different, so i can see that being the case. Also, which comment are you talking about on the community tab? The one where you were the original poster?
Airtime Thrills Yeah, it’s the one where we were discussing the chances of Corona infection outdoors. Basically, my second post was me trying to clarify, as I was worried you came away thinking I was ripping into you, which wasn’t at all my intention.
@@StamfordBridge oh yeah no problem, I understand that its still very possible to transmit it outdoors if precautions arent taken even though the danger is much greater indoors.

They randomly handed out the envelopes when you entered the park, unless the people giving them out was holding back til they found someone they recognized, it seemed pretty random

Fantasy Island is also set to Re-open. the date is sometime in 2021.
Soo happy this park got a way better treatment then Geauga Lake
I’m kind of glad to see they aren’t skipping rows and keeping capacity up. Once the ride is moving that one open row doesn’t make a big difference as you’ll be traveling through the air of the person two+ rows ahead still anyway
just ignore the fact that social distancing helps slow the spread of a pandemic but ok...
No mention about the bumper cars, water log ride, haunted castle, miniature golf, Shaffer Queen paddle-wheel boat ride, big crap fish that you feed popcorn to or the arcade game room. Indiana Beach is great. Time for me to go back, my mom won so many tickets playing the Skee-Ball game.

I know you’ve since posted your regret on not wearing a mask and vowed to do so moving forward, but it’s baffling you had to be shamed into that, especially since you had COVID earlier this year. You of all people should be cognizant of what the virus is, how contagious it is, and what little we know about its after effects to not even think twice about doing the bare minimum to protect those around you. The fact that Indiana Beach doesn’t have protocols that they felt like enforcing should be a far bigger topic of conversation than you finally being able to ride Cornball Express.
Getting rid of this virus is way more important than precious credits. That goes for you, Coaster Studios, Coasterforce and the rest who didn’t give a crap about keeping people safe.
I addressed their measures in this video so I didnt sweep it under the rug. And the general idea is that people who recover can't infect people in the short term, do you disagree with this? Seems like if this isnt the case then theres not much hope for a vaccine.
Airtime Thrills We, as a nation, have decided to plow forward with our lives based on ‘general ideas’ that are being thrown out about the virus when in reality we know very little about it. If that turns out to be the case, great! But as someone who dealt with it, why would you even take that chance?
@@dm06012 all the research I've read says that the scientists believe that people who recover develop antibodies that will protect them and others around them for the short term, at least. I believe it. I would have been more careful if i didnt believe it. I believe we cant stay locked down forever and the most optimistic timeline for a vaccine is 18 months and even that's unlikely since most take years, if ever. But i agree we should get back out there and be smart about it. That's why i said what i said about wearing a mask for good optics and warn people about the way IB is operating and even to write them if they refuse to go til they do more to be safe
Airtime Thrills I’m glad you’re going to be more careful moving forward and aren’t being petulant like Taylor has been and closing/deleting comments that call him out for his carelessness. It’s very clear over the last month that, while we all yearn to get back to living life, the nation has handled this so poorly that we weren’t ready. We got sick of being locked down and had enough, and now we’re breaking records each day. Other nations had stricter measures in place and are back to functioning. We fucked it up. No one has a vaccine, but smarter countries quelled the spread. We got bored with it and now we’re staring headlong at locking down again.
The very least we can do is wear a damn mask to try and prevent that from happening, even those who have already had COVID. I’m happy you’re on that line of thinking now. If only local amusement parks and other coaster channels felt similarly to you.
I think I went to this park when I was like 6 and rode Galaxi. It was in Indiana, and I remember there being water right next to the edge of the park. Galaxi had the same kind of layout as the coaster I remember.
Great vid as always! Def give cornball another try in the back the next time you make it out to IB. I’ve had some legendary rides in the back row.
I refuse to support a park with little to no covid safety policies in place. Frankly I think we should be boycotting Indiana Beach until they change their policies. Just go to Kings Island or Cedar Point instead. Or even Holiday World.
I went on vip day even spent the night in a cabin at the camp ground. Park was clean, many repairs done, new rides being installed flying Bob's from Coney island and mini Eli ferris wheel . Taco shop back and new shops . New pavement and concrete, new paint everywhere. Employees very friendly and even sweeping up trash. In short it's back and can't wait for what's in-store for years to come.
Hoosier had me out of my seat, front and back on sunday opening weekend. Maybe it just needed waming up but I was treated to some of the most insane airtime that had me comparing it to Steel Vengeance's outerbank or Magnum's finale... until I rode Cornball in the front car 😳
Such a great park. Happy to see the park in Gene's hands and able to relive childhood memories with my kids in the future.
Holy crap that new track on Hoosier Hurricane versus what it looked like in 2018 is like night and day. Glad to see the park give it some much needed love.
Last time I was here was sometime back in the early 90s (late spring of '91, I believe) with an lady I had been in an on-again, off-again relationship for years... We were giving a two-week fling one last hurrah before she headed out from the Midwest to Vegas later that summer, never to return - not alive, anyway... RIP Karla, and I'll always the times we spent together at I.B. (in '91 and before) and many other places...

I was there today, I felt they are doing a good job. No one with a temp gets in, and plenty of hand sanitizer in the lines for the rides. Also, COVID doesn't do well in direct sunlight and is less likely to spread outdoors.

I live in Indiana and I remember my dad telling me of a tale that one of my grandma or grandpa's friend's that took back in the 40's where one of the carts on a Ferris wheel fell of and it killed two of her/his friends.

Not sure why you chose a connecting flight vs non-stop. Its almost always more trouble to have a connecting flight, unless you have a plan if you get stuck somewhere.
Was there 2 weeks ago today, place was dead. I got 14(!) rides on Cornball Express, 10 on Hoosier Hurricane, 3 on Lost Coaster, and 3 on Steel Hawg. Lost Coaster longest wait for me was 20 minutes. I did not even have to get out of my seat on Cornball or Hoosier for most of the day
So I just have to ask, how do you afford airfare to do one off trips? I mean, I get that prices are low right now (and you are probably immune to the virus so there is little fear), but in general how do you afford one off trips? If you get paid a lot from your job, then I get that. But my wife and I make 110k/year with no kids and we can't concieve of random flights throughout the year.
If you get paid that much between you both and cant afford the odd flight every once in a while you're doing something wrong i'm afraid

6:43 Temperature checks are useless, as it only works if you have the fever symptom, which is one of 8 symptoms. You also go 2 weeks without any symptoms when you get it, and that's when it's most contagious as your body is not fighting back yet.

Beautiful park - looks like a park I'd build in RCT2 -compact with rides layering on top of each other, over the edge of a lake. Very satisfying.
I CAN'T WAIT TO GO AGAIN! Haven't been since I was a kid in the 90's.
I was there in 2018, and apparently not much has changed since then. Of course, I can't compare how the smoothness of the wooden coasters changed just by watching the video, but oterwise it looks like I remember it.
Yes, I would so much love to go there and get on the rides, but unfortunately I can't get into the United States at this time, so I don't have a chance :(

You should rank all the spaghetti bowl (I think that’s the name) coasters that you’ve ridden. Coasters like Flight of Fear, Jokers Jinx, Rock’n Roller Coaster....
I went in 2019. I started my day at SF Great America and drove down to Indiana Beach and got in about 4-4:30 range. I spent about 4 hours or so at the park. It was pretty slow for a Sunday afternoon as weather just came through the area. I agree with you all 5 coasters are solid. Hoosier Hurricane ran a little rough last year. Lost Coaster is a little better in the back as I got rides in the front and back. I really loved Cornball Express. I enjoyed it a lot in the front and back. I actually have it right ahead of Mystic Timbers in my rankings. It is a great coaster! Glad to see the park was saved!
Thats like a 3.5 hour drive from GAM to IB, you must not have been at GAM long
@@AirtimeThrills I was at SFGAM all day on Saturday and then I went back on Sunday AM to get another ride on Maxx Force, Goliath, and maybe one or two other rides. I was out of there just after Noon.

This is one of my home parks. Haven't been since I was a young teen maybe, but I got so sad when I heard it was going to close. So glad someone saved it! Only coaster I've ridden there is Lost Coaster though. Definitely have to go ride the rest.
"World's best tacos" In Indiana. Color me skeptical. How were they? (Other than being predictably expensive)
I had the nachos but taylor had the tacos. They looked ok to me but...not really a foodie myself
The tacos are fantastic, I had a few there today. Also, they're $2.50 a taco, which seems pretty reasonable to me.

I only road Cornball in the front.... and I was disappointed. hm. I found that helix at the end to be very weak and there was really only two pops of air on a very shakey track.

I find it odd that the measures put in now in Indiana beach are more lenient than the measures took at Alton towers pre-lockdown.

If you want a step up from Steel Hawg, try Timber Drop at Fraispertuis, it may be the same layout, but the theming is worth it.

I was there opening day as well. It was a really fun day. It was my first visit and I enjoyed Lost Coaster the most just because of how weird it was I thought riding backwards in the back car was definitely the best place to ride. Also two non coaster rides you didn't mention which I was really impressed with were the Flying swings over the water those were actually pretty insane. The swings felt like they moved forward alot more then other flying swings I've been on if felt like I was gonna smack into the swing in front of me. Also not really a ride but the Frankenstein haunted house walk-through was very impressive. It was pretty old school and it took at least 25 minutes to walk through I was really surprised how good it was.

LOVE IT. This was the closest park to me during high school. I really enjoyed it despite it being small. I'm very happy they aren't doing all the safety measures of other parks. They should stand strong, complainers won't be visiting anyway!
And if they're so worried about the risk they can wear a mask and worry about themselves

The one in Skegness opens July 4th (alongside most other UK parks)
The one in Grand Island appears to have been acquired by a company called 'Empire Adventures' and is set to reopen in 2021.
ElectriKing ok I was asking about the other Apex park and that is good news. So glad I have top tier CCI Megafobia just an hour away in my home park.
Empire Adventures Inc. has announced they have plans to purchase the park and open it for the 2021 season, hopefully that happens as the park is only an hour and a half from me

My home state, I just went there today.
I just went today. Cornball has some insane airtime in the front. I rode Lost Coaster in the second car facing backwards and its was great maybe try that next time you're there. Ive done both steel hawg and el loco, for me el loco has better restraints (steel hawgs hurt my shoulder) but steel hawg was the better ride.
