Im a local in the springfield area. I frequent ritter springs park very often.. and i feel a strong need to tell you and anyone else who see's this, PLEASE WATCH FOR COPPERHEADS!!! I have seen ALOT of them in that particular park. I went into that exact cave one cool spring morning to make a cup of coffee, and sat down right next to about 5-7 hatchling copperheads. I almost pissed myself.... watch your children. I have also found mountain lion tracks in ritter springs and surrounding areas of woods.

Thank you for all you do Rob & Christy! Love your channel and reference it often trying (as I have since 1987) to get people out to our parks, especially our jewel Ritter Springs.

The small openings where you had turned back cause you didn't want to crawl thru there is alot more cave back there and there is a big room with a curved ceiling like a ball room, it's very neat in there, I live here in springfield mo and I been in that cave several times, there is a cave on the other side of town at Sequiota Park but no one is allowed to go in it anymore, I got to go in it a few times before they blocked it off and it's very big and real cool, there is a waterfall in the very back of it, there is Fantasic caverns that is a ride thru cave and cost money farther north on 13 highway

Oh sweet! Wish I would've known about the tour! Totally would've gone haha.
Also, thank you for the timely response! I've lived here my whole life and just found your channel. I'm really enjoying seeing some of the Ozarks that I've never seen before :)

Hey I have a question I went inside junction cave a little further than you did in this video today and when i got that far in we started to see what looked like smoke I have been in a few caves and have not seen that before. it did not have a smell but we decided to turn around and get out instead of going further so you know what that could have been?
