Trot Poles & Canter Pole Exercises Four Leaf Clover, Diagonal Corners & Accurate Circles

- In this video we first look at how a simple square of trotting poles can be used creatively to do a variety of trot pole exercises. The Four Leaf Clover trotting pole exercise is excellent for working between lateral bend and straightness. The trotting poles help with elasticity and in Dante's case he stays focussed more.
We then work across the corners to challenge our straightness and add variety with trot poles on a bending line.
The circle is accurately marked out so if we stay over the same part of the poles we have to ride a perfect circle over the trot poles. We then go over alternate raised poles to get the joints really flexing.
Finally some canter work showing how can further use the simple square of poles.
This can start easy as Novice trot polework or as we have shown be made more complex towards advanced trot and canter polework.

Hi, Sonia, I hope you and your gorgeous horses have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to more videos in the new year. They are fabulous.
Hi, thank you so much. Merry Christmas to you and yours too. I am halfway through the next one but a bit busy with Christmas hols coming now xx
what is the appropriate length to take ahorse`s turn from there or the number of steps of a horse to put amark and take a turn
Could you please advise the length of the trot poles you use in the square exercise
For a pony I would do a big step around 3feet? I think for trot poles and two trot poles is equivalent to one canter pole🥰
I seems that she just does a canter pole width, so she doesn’t have to constantly change
@@beckatanner1786 yes she has done the canter width for trot also
