True. I've always said that the activation of a body camera should be controlled by a sensor that is contained within the cabin of a cop's cruiser regardless if the cruiser is on or off. When a cop opens the cruiser's door from the inside, a sensor is triggered to activate turning on the body camera automatically and the body camera cannot be turned off until you go back in the cruiser to turn it off. No forgetting to activate the body camera. Full accountability. Full transparency.

I really think that the other officers at the scene who did not turn on their cameras need to be disciplined for that alone, in a major way. Otherwise, the message becomes, "Next time something like this happens, just don't turn on your camera - best to live with the consequences of that than to have evidence of what actually happened."

BUT.. what I do know is the cops went in raging at 100 when all they should have done is knock on the door. Is a disgrace. If the caller is human they must feel horrible.
