Thank you. This is a good question . I spent few months on the internet and i did not find anything special. Finally I found WHITE KNUCKLE OFF ROAD and i ask for a custom order that will go with my Toyota. I give them my design and they made it for the same price. I am very happy . These steps save my doors on the BLACK BEAR PASS in Colorado.

Nice set up! I'm in the market to put a shell on my double cab Taco, short bed. I want to put a rack and roof top tent on the shell. I'm worried about the weight capacity. Any advice? What shell, rack, and size Tuff Stuff tent are you using?
The shell is from A.R.E. , its pretty solid and except the power lock in the back door gets broken every year. Roof Rack- are from Yakima. Roof Top Tent- is standard for two people to sleep with annex. The tent weight when its empty is 129 lb. and the shell is strong , but all that stuff plus food, cloths, and water etc. is too heavy for the original leaf springs and that's the reason I put air bags in the rear + air compressor + solenoid value + a switch for the air bags to go up and down. You have a good eye and your right. On this Tacoma there is Limited Slip Differential, after that situation on the beach and I figured out that it is is useless and I was fighting with Toyota and I discovered they lie to the clients about L.S.D. There is no mechanism/gears for the L.S.D. Now they have ELECTRONIC L.S.D. which is completely useless on snow, sand, and rocks. After this trip, I installed a A.R.B. Locker and still I can't believe that the dealer and Toyota customer service lied to me!
I seen one of your replies in the comments about air lockers did you upgrade the gears as well? Is your Tacoma 4x4 or 4x2? How are the air lockers working out?
Tacoma is 4 x 4 with limited slip differential which is useless garbage after That Season i upgrade to Locker ARB is awesome

I've been thinking about getting the Front Runner RTT. I read the dimensions on their website and measured the bed of my Tacoma ('16 short bed). I'm pretty sure i can fit the RTT on top of the wheel wells, inside the bed. I would have the tent open over the tailgate. Do you think it would fit fine? Love your setup, cheers.
I try to understand your question. I think that propably it is not going to fit. but what is more important is that you need some room to open the fly for windows and doors. There are few options,Online directly from the store,or good off-road stores near you,i got my first tent from California,today i can tell you its a good store near me in New Jersey i dont know where you live,but, you should start from the roof racks.
