I absolutely loved this tour!!! I agree with not needing a formal dining room as a formal dining room. Library wins....hands down!! Thanks for sharing your amazing collection.
Enjoyed this immensely. A book collection not overrun by one "popular" genre. This has some classics and books that I could relate too. Very impressive and well done.
I really enjoyed this. It's great to see some many unique books and your collection is pretty atypical on Booktube (at least as far as what I've found).
I arrange books by binding and size. Clothbounds together, leatherbounds together etc and penguin editions together on their own shelves. Dusting the library is a nightmare though. Maybe its a good idea to add glass panes to the shelves. Great video!!
Great array of books. A lot of YT have a massive collection of YA and not much else (nothing wrong with it just not my thing). I do have the Harry Potter collection but i have a wide range of genres. Seeing yours is refreshing. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Hi - Just came across your channel, and watched this video. Great, and your bookshelves (content, that is) is very similar to what I collect - really focused on books I read and loved as a kid. So, narnia, lm montgomery, Louisa May Alcott, Roald Dahl, etc. I'm always on the hunt!! So, looking forward to watching your other videos.
Oh cool! We must be kindred spirits as LM Montgomery would say. I love a treasure hunt. Let me know if there's anything on the shelves you would like details about and I'll make a video to show the details and anything I happen to know about the editions.
I enjoyed your video. Thank you for creating and uploading it for us! I would have enjoyed it so much more if you had talked about each of your books that you showcased. But as it is, still a very fun, enjoyable video!
Hi! I just stumbled upon your channel and this video. Your book collection is literally my dream. 🙌 You have exceptional taste. Can’t wait to watch the rest of your videos and learn more about vintage book editions. Can you share how you became a book collector? And also why you collect vintage books? I’m only starting to build my vintage library and would appreciate hearing stories from those who have been in this for awhile. Thank you again for sharing!
Thanks for watching! I love books and reading, and I enjoy having a special edition to read. I am also a bargain hunter so many of my vintage books were cheap. I focus on collecting books I loved as a child and classics. My advice is to start with your very favorite books and try to find a special edition (first or signed or a special illustrator).
Those are some of my favorites too! I did a separate video just about the Mary Poppins books. If you have a chance to give it a watch I would love to hear what you think!
I am proud seeing that exists a woman like you! (I am woman too) so lover of books, so beautiful and wise. 🤗❤ excuse for my kiddy english, but I am italian, not so able using english 😆
Spectacular! I like your tee shirt too. I noted that you have a copy of the book as well. Was that a first edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland?
Thanks for watching! I do love Ray Bradbury and I was lucky to find a bargain vintage hardcover of Fahrenheit. It is ex-libris but that seems appropriate ;) I do have several early editions of Alice. I did a tour of my Lewis Carroll collection you can see at: ua-cam.com/video/N9X4GsjrOlM/v-deo.html
This is a great collection. We have some of these titles in common. I have the Thornton edition of the Brontes in full brown leather bindings. I have to ask, however, is that a first edition of Catcher in the Rye?
Aren't early editions of classics fun? That is not a first edition of Catcher in the Rye (that would be amazing!), but it does have the cover art. It is a reprint that was a bargain auction find.
Hi there! Thanks for watching. Those are not firsts. The Catcher in the Rye is a Grosset & Dunlap reprint, but the used the original dust jacket so it looks great. The Mrs. Frisby is a book club edition bit also has the original look (I LOVE that book). Are you a collector?
@@rarebookviews The Mrs Frisby caught my eye because it’s not a book I usually see on book shelves. And I love most of the Newbery award winners. I knew a first edition of Catcher would be worth many thousands, and I’ve always loved it…
If you will come in Italy, one day, I'd to donate you some italian versions of my favourite books 🤗 usually, I and two friends organize a day in a park when we donate free books. We call this voluntary work "Girolibri" ("books turning among readers") or "Libro Libero" ("free book"). In this month of may, we will do this on 6th may 🥰
I can send you a lots of different Emilio Salgari’s books cover artworks about “Corsaro Nero”, “Misteri della Jungla Nera” and Sandokan saga. I am non sure if our famous italian writer about pirates and exotic adventures (800/‘900) was translate in english with different bookcovers. Here in Italy some readers collect Salgari’s books with different cover books because they are a lots of version 😄
@@rarebookviews yes, and I can share with you the bookcovers sending you by mail so you can watch them and if you like them, do a video 😃 Salgari was the Italian father of Adventure romance 🏴☠️
By the way my fav italian writers are Giovanni Pascoli (“Myricae”, a collection of rural/country a bit sepulchral poems similar to Thomas Gray’s elegies, and Igino Tarchetti, a decadent writer who wrote “Fosca” a gothic romance. “Fosca” is the word in ancient italian for “Dark woman”
Finally! A different set of books than the dozen other book tours I've seen. Great collection of classics.
Thanks!
@@rarebookviews thank you for sharing 👍

@@rarebookviews I particularly enjoyed your impressive L.M. Montgomery collection. Sorry for the delay in replying.

Just came across this. Your husband is a gem...those shelves are gorgeous! Quite envious of the Bellairs and the Pippi books. Took me back!
thank you! I really lucked out with the Pipi books, I've never seen some of them again in person.
Oooooh a collector. I've tried to present a rare book in each of my videos. It's nice to see different kinds.
Thanks! I'll check out your channel. I'm hoping to post some rare book shopping, let me know what you think ;)
@@rarebookviews I just started an Instagram account to hit some of my rare ones (I have a few accounts, but I hate IG).

Oww beautiful! Love, love , love.
Loved that 'Crime and Punishment by Dostoyevsky' you own.
Thank you! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one reading Dostoevsky for fun!

The collection of "Les Miserables" is stunning! It's a fairly big book but I'm amazed at how many volumes it's been divided into!

The original french version is composed of 10 volumes 😁
