A little tip: next time when youre vending on a grass (especially if its raining), buy cheap black geotextile (stuff you can buy at gardeners shop for vegetables to cover while growing) and cover the "floor" of your tent. That will prevent mud from comming onto your boots and stuff. And since it drains not like plastic cover, you wont be sitting in a puddle of mud.

What a great market in spite of the weather. Try soaking the tablecloths in oxiclean and dawn dish soap for 15min then wash as normal. You might have to repeat. Ask your Dad what he thinks about maybe using a paste wax or Vaseline in the connecting wood joints to make assembly and teardown easier. The scrunchies tree is fabulous! Here is an OCD aesthetic idea 😁... when you place your labels on the candles line the top edge parallel to the wick.

Bring a portable battery like the brand bluetti and then buy a heated poncho or heated blanket to plug into it at markets during winter

just a suggestion.. get some rubber door mats to set your wooden stands on.. that way the weather won't damage the wood. That kind of wood can warp and split when it gets wet.

I like when you show other booths setup. it is good to get inspiration. when I do markets, I am kind of a busybuddy. I like to give advice to the beginners. I know I still have a lot to learn but what I know I am eager to pas on. my point is if all booths look their best the better the overall impression it gives. which should lead to better sales for all.

I agree! It’s important for small business owners to support one another & pass along what we learn!

To get all sorts of stains out of fabric including grease, use blue colored body soap bars such as Irish Spring / Coast. I picked up this tip from Zero Waste Home (the book) and I've used it for years. I've thrifted many pieces with stains over the years and restored them using this method. Just wet and scrub the soap and fabric. Do a test. Sometimes the soap can lighten a dark fabric significantly so be careful, then just throw the scrubbed item with your laundry. If a stain is really bad I will fill up a sink with water and gets lots of the blue soap on the piece, in the water and soak over night.

I always think ourside rugs are great for rainy markets. Just out them in the car afterwards and water pressure them, and they are clean again for the next time! Plus: Costumers come in and can watch without walking throug mud.

Ever since WaWa opened in FL they are everywhere. I have to always stop and get my coffee from there before a pop up. Also, rain here is the norm and events are rain or shine unless it's severe forecast like today...every outdoor event and farmer's markets have been canceled. Hoping tomorrow holds up for my last event before xmas.
Last weekend it started raining right at the end during load out. I got all my inventory put away before it got crazy but the tent, totes and other display stuff was soaked. Monday morning we spent 1 1/2hrs just drying everything off as we took it out of the car. We couldn't unload the night before when we got home because it was still raining. Left the tent out (Monday morning) open to fully dry in the sun.
General Vendor tip: Never put a tent away with it still wet even if just a little. It can rust frame and cause mold build up extremely fast especially in FL.

I love your setup. I love the scrunchie stand your dad created. We do outdoor shows, and we put a tarp down to cover the ground. It is really helpful during rainy weather.

I want to say that you’re the reason I started staying until the end of (bad) markets. My market last weekend I made no sales until the last 30 mins and then I had a bunch of folks come in and buy stuff.

Great market! Just a thought on transporting your candles. Maybe look into the plastic totes for Christmas ornaments. They typically have the dividers in them. Just a thought. Congrats on your pop up. You’re a wonderful inspiration.
