"Mountain" Lyrics:
I saw through the devil
He promised to take our land
I ran through the levee
Seeds of the dream in hand
They came 'cross the ocean
With all their loaded guns
Fear then swept my people
Eclipsed in the hatred spun
Oh
Yea
Mountain will shine again
I get up the Mountain
To heed their godless plans:
"we will run the savage from his holy land"
Fire and brimstone burning
Death as far eyes can see
Oh these earthly demons
Blinded by their own greed
Oh
Yea
Mountain will shine again
Tried to wipe us out but we're still here

I've only learned a couple of years ago how my great-grandmother was "brainwashed" into denying her aboriginal culture as a kid (even though she herself was mixed), thanks to an all-paid vacation in a convent. It worked, seeing how she praised her "paler" kids while detesting her own darker complexion. She never told anyone this, my grandmother only learned about it all after her mother died. It only makes me 1/16 Huron, but that baptism scene still punched me right in the gut. I’m mad for her and all the others who had to go through this, even though she herself seemed to have accepted and embraced her "conversion".
That is horrific. To think all this still happened less than a human lifetime ago, and that we easily could revert back to that. That it was still the norm in 90s Australia. That it's still the norm in many places. I'm sickened by that. Thank you for sharing it too, because there can't be enough awareness of the sickness of indigenous assimilation. Kent Nerburn wrote the similar story of a Lakota man who, in the book, goes by the name Dan, in an excellent work called "Neither Wolf Nor Dog" that I found shook me out of ignorance of this issue and made me research more.
No words to describe how nice these guys are.
And how much ass they kick!
Mountains will shine again my brothers n sisters
Black sabbath, Rush, Hendrix.... All those sounds were heard on the night they played at the Bell center in Laval (1st part of Jack White tour) GREAT Band! Rock isn't dead...

So much power and heaviness is concentrated in the two! You rock guys. Greetings from Ukraine! \m/

Saw this band in Denver with Primus, the whole show was awesome
Honored to have fed them burritos last month
Would love to see a collaboration between A Tribe Called Red and yourselves - since you both have such interesting, uniquely different from each other’s sound yet amazing musical prowess. Plus, you share similar narratives.

Just saw the Crown Lands last night in Houston. It was an absolutely beautiful performance. I went to see The Hu, but also discovered an awesome band in the process.
Just red about em in a rock magazine

They are groovy as hell live. I saw them open for Jack White. Would be even better with a bassist tho.
This band should be HUGE
You guys rock. I feel so sorry about the Kamloops situation. In my 50 years I had no idea. I find that your music is so powerful that it encompasses and transcendes. I look forward to more.

@@CrownLandsMusic I can't belive it either, we went for her birthday. You were rockin' that killer nudie/scully type embroidered suit jacket, that shit was pimp.
Met Kevin today when he came to my school for an arts panel. So proud that you are an alumni of my school! Keep up the great work, guys! You are so freaking awesome!!!!!
I just saw this band December 7th 2019 at the Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas and holy crap they blew us away. We love them and if they ever come back to Las Vegas will be the first people to buy tickets.

So freaking awesome! Saw them in Moncton opening for Jack White, so great!
Powerful and insightful!
Just heard this on NCI, good shit! 🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽
Awesome; it's like traveling back to some of the classic 70's style metal.
I just saw these guys opening for the Hu in Lawrence, Kansas, last night. One of the most solid opening acts I've ever seen. I'm now a fan.
So glad I got to see you guys tonight before The Hu! Thanks so much for signing the cds and for the extra stickers~ (I was the one with pink/purple hair towards the very end lol) This video is so powerful damn. Showing the priest right when you sing about the devil is 👌
Saw them tonight for first time. No words can explain their power in this live performance. I’m still just grooving hours later. Went for coheed (die hard fan of fifteen years) and yes supreme and memorable but there is just something about this group, I could’ve paid that much to just see them. They will rise and what they are standing for will create a mass awakening 🙏🏽🌻
Rebel radio played this in Ottawa on the airwaves...I was delivering pizzas...made me slow down on the gas pedal...just so I could take in the sound...fuckin awesome shit ! instant fan!
HOLY FUCK THE DRUMMER IS THE VOCALIST!!!! (*drops to one knee*)
Get wisdom; develop good judgement.
Don't forget my words or turn away from
them.
I watched your group when you came with Jack White in Laval.... the show wasn't so nice....BUT WHAT SAVE IT WAS YOU GUYS !!!! You meritate to be lot more popular, what a discovery for me ! I still can't figure how just two guys can be that powerfull !!! Great job ! I wish you the best !

These guys are awesome live. T.L.A opening for the HU. 11/13/19. Good show.
Just saw Crown Lands tonight in Las Vegas opening for The Hu and holy jeeze...I'm obsessed. As soon as he opened his mouth it instantly reminded me of Robert Plant with some hints of Geddy Lee. Their song Sundance really spoke to me. Seriously incredible and the best concert. Hoping to see them again soon.
Dude I was at that show as well, it's always great when the opening band blows your socks off.
Saw these guys Last Night! They brought the House down!
CBC Radio 1 Reclaimed brought me here.
eared waterfall on radio here in quebec and shazamed the song cause it was real good. would never have thought you guys were a such a not known and small band ... keep that style and you deserve much more !! awesum
Cool video for an awesome song
This is so fucking good.
Great show in Peterborough tonight with monster truck I got both your cds and you guys signed em for me that was cool, even cooler when I saw in there you thanked mustache club I'm from oshawa, you guys stayed and talked to the fans and gave autographs I was very happy to see that down to earth behavior. How funny it was when you told me drums wer your first instrument you learned as well lol you are very talented and the songs are well written I play guitar now though and appreciate the different styles on guitar with brass and steel slide and the double neck rickenbacher with bass bottom that was killer bro. I'll be looking for you guys to come around more often I very much enjoy your music and still waiting for the rest of the band to come out on stage LMAO. Keep on rockin boys, your only going up from here.
Loved you guys in San Antonio, TX at the paper tiger. - Long haired dude with a motorhead shirt.

About to see em live hope there as great as this
Can't get enough of this🤘
❤️❤️
Saw these guys open for The Hu last night, pretty amazing. This video makes an already powerful track that much more meaningful.
So powerful, so well filmed and performed. I'm so proud that these guys are from Canada :D As soon as the kid was getting drowned ("baptised") by the catholic pastor I was like, O daaamn these guys are gonna cause some waves. The Americas are blessed with a profound native spirituality that is deeply and sacredly connected to the land, and they are treated poorly for not assimilating to the "new world." I'm so glad that a hot band like these guys can still be humble enough to risk public accord, and talk about an elephant in the room like this. And to do it in style!
Caden the kid is from my community of Alderville First Nation in Ontario...very powerful song
Great band great guys got to talk to them before and after the show really cool dudes really dig the Moxy
