🌄A Blessed Spring Wednesday In God's Kingdom Field! 🌾 A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT (HOPE). Endure hardship as discipline. God Uses hard times to train you. He Is Treating you as children... Our parents trained us for a little while. THEY DID WHAT THEY THOUGHT WAS BEST. GOD Trains us for our GOOD (5,7,10; NIV, NIrV) No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces A HARVEST OF RIGHTEOUSNESS AND PEACE for those who have been trained BY IT (Hebrews 12: 11). The prophet Micah declares, "Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, THE LORD WILL BE MY LIGHT. Because I have sinned against Him, I will bear the Lord's Wrath, until He Pleads my case and Establishes my right. 🌟HE WILL BRING ME INTO THE LIGHT. I WILL SEE HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS. Micah 7 🕊Amen 🌿🙏🙌🙌🙌

Please explain what you believe to be good disapline and abus3. I was torn down not built up by my parents and want to know how to discapline in a christian way that is helpful not harmful
I can surely tell you that our Heavenly Father does Not Abuse or Beat us like some mean and unloving parents do! HE comes to us with HIS Love of correction taking us through Whatever it is HE has been dealing with us. But...if we don't yield to HIM, not willing to make the correction, that brings sorrow on us. It's a simple "Yes, Lord!" in All situations. Mean it and live happily as HIS child! Beautiful Savior and Lord! Hope this helps. Be Blessed!
I know your sincere question is intended for Pastor Cymbala, but I will share as a longtime believer with Christian parents and now a father & grandfather who wants to instill faith in my family... I think Christian parenting always must begin with the parents themselves truly loving the Lord & surrendering to His guidance. Just as our Heavenly Father chastens or disciplines us in love (not anger or as a means of punishment), the goal is always to "disciple" or to teach so that children learn to distinguish right from wrong. When administered in love and what is in the best long-term interests of our children, sensible spankings and other non-physical forms of correction truly do "hurt" the heart of the parent more than the bottom of the child.😉The Proverbs are full of wisdom about the effectiveness of loving correction. I would recommend always explaining the goal to children and making every corrective action a learning experience! 🙏
Love is the answer. Pastor is talking about discipline in the old days that could get you arrested in 2024. I wasn’t so patient raising my 4 children and may have broken a cook spoon on my son’s butt 😮 however, I’ve watched a very experienced caretaker and how she manages children and it is with constant singing, spiritual or children’s songs, giving children an idea of what they can expect to do next, something to look forward to, for example, “we’re going to the park soon to see your friends and play but first we need to clean up the toys and eat, so let’s see who can get done first!” That’s a much more effective method and one that doesn’t crush the confidence and spirit of little ones and give them trauma to deal with when they grow up (or accuse you of!) You’re clearly a good parent to recognize that corporal discipline doesn’t work. ❤🙏🏻

What I appreciate are many of the wholesome moral values and examples passed down from parents, teachers, elders, community leaders. Now, being from "The Baby-Boomer Generation", African American Heritage, many of us can truthfully attest to some of the stern discipline we experienced. Parents, teachers, church leaders would give us a "paddling" for misbehavior (speaking euphemistically!) 🤗So many look back at earlier time periods with disdain, judgment and piety: "Well, I would never have done that to my child!" God Blessed us with imperfect parents who raised us the best they knew how -given unthinkable circumstances and environments with which they had to face. Still, Christian believers are instructed in God's Word: "Children, obey your parents in The Lord, for this is right. HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER --which is the first commandment with promise --that IT MAY GO WELL WITH YOU and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.
