Becky Fender (nee Varnado) was born December 25, 1952 in St. Paul, Minnesota. At six months of age, she and her parents moved to Louisiana to pastor a church. Becky has always been deeply involved in the work of God...singing at the early age of three at camp meetings... then, later at revivals and conventions. Music has been an enormous part of her life.
In January of 1971, she married Steve Fender and together they traveled as evangelists for seven years. In 1979, the Lord spoke to them to go to San Antonio, Texas, and found Livingway Church. They began in their living room with six adults. The church quickly prospered and they have outgrown several buildings in a very short time. Now, it is one of the most prolific Spirit-filled churches in San Antonio!
In 1982, she founded "No Matter What Women", Livingway's ministry to women. In the past few years, she has ministered around the world, not only in song, but also in the Word. She has a heart to minister to women and has been featured as soloist and special speaker at numerous women's conventions.
God granted another of her greatest desires when He began to use her to write music for His glory. Her most recorded song to date is "I Give You Jesus". Another song that has touched many hearts is, "I Am Changed". One of her favorites is "Whose Report Shall You Believe?" which was inspired by one of Steve's messages, and was instrumental in her personal healing of a tumor behind her eye. "I Still Have A Future" has brought hope and encouragement to many.
Becky is the Director of Music at Livingway and is the founder of Living Praise Choir, a dynamic group of people who love to sing praises to God. She is highly involved in all areas of music at Livingway and is also the praise leader for all services. In the midst of responsibilities of her family and the activities of Livingway, Becky still finds time to travel and minister both in song, and with her husband, Steve. She believes "...to whom much is given, much is required..." and she would be the first to testify that God has blessed her abundantly with "much"! Her greatest desire is to share the love and joy that comes from really knowing Jesus...you can hear it in her songs!

And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. I wasn't around when this song was being song, I came on the scene many many many years after but yet I listen to this song and it breaks my heart, it makes me fall in love with Jesus and wants to meet him. I pray that whosoever reads this will find Jesus through his word and be saved when he comes, he is coming very very soon.

In the 80's I worked under Nancy Harmon and when Nancy heard this song it quickly became one of her staples. She ministered to countless people through this song. Two very anointed women.

Thank you so much for posting this song. I bought this cassette when it came out in 1984. This song is the answer. Nothing more, nothing less....Jesus. We can't give anyone or our world anything more than Him. He was, is and will always be the ONLY answer. No matter what the question is, He IS the Answer. If you have someone in your life that needs Him, send them this song and release His anointing to flow like a River of Living Water into their life. I don't know what others do without Jesus and I don't ever want to find out. Thank you for loving me Lord and being All that I need, every time, all the time, no matter what.

I had this album it was blue! My favorite
No, it is the 1979 album initially called "Becky" that was blue vinyl and renamed "Peace in the Midst of the Storm". The tracks are exactly the same. I still have the original blue release and re-release. This one was released 5 years later. I still have all of her albums., except her first from 1971 called "I Hear God". If you go to my channel and search by her name you will pull up other songs that I have posted from those albums. Blessings.
