This was great and you should definitely make more videos with your wonderful granny! Bangkok has a million incredible markets but something about Or Tor Kor is always so particularly bright and happy and as a falang with limited Thai language, the aunties are always so friendly and helpful to me

Love Thai fruits, one of the best parts of Thailand aside of the weather, swimming in tropical waters, culture, people & architecture is Thai Food. maybe you can do some traditional Thai dishes, like the curries and see which is best? i like "kaeng khiao wan" Thai Green curry with Tofu, medium or normal level of spice.
Also another idea for future video could be "types of root crops / vegetable" you have to love the Thai Yam (purple yam)
Thank you for all your wonderful videos, very well presented.

This video brought a smile to my face. I ADORED going to Or Tor Kor market when I was in Thailand almost 2 years ago. I'm a fruit addict so I tried and loved all the fruits that you showed here. Brought back so many memories. Would love to come back to Thailand next month but I only have about 10 days of time off from work where I would love to stay there for one month lol! Thanks for sharing and lovely to see your granny. Definitely do a cooking video with her.

I loved all the fruits in your video! My top pick is lychee because I adore sweet and sour flavors, followed by durian. That market looks amazing with high-quality fruits, even if they're a bit pricey. It's wonderful to see you spending quality time with your grannies and sister. I also would love to see your granny special dishes.

Wonderful video (slurp😂) ...I am a fruit lover and a planning a trip to Bangkok, so this is very useful, especially the information that these fruits are usually available in the rainy season. I will be changing my plans now as I was initially planning it in the winter.😊
We have Lychee in my country and can share that you find it sour as you are picking the red ones. Go for the brown ones....they are as sweet as longans.😊
Also, the sandy texture you find in lamut....you should avoid eating the white portion next to the seed... that's where it comes from.
I could not see the difference between Longkong and Longan. Could you please explain?.
Great tips on selecting mangosteen. Would be great to know the particular shop you buy it from 😅

Greetings from Malaysia. Love your videos. Here we call the following
    Sugar apple - custard apple
Lamut - Ciku (Vietnamese ones are bigger)
Durian same same but we have Musang King variant . I think we have the same fruits as Thailand.
    Mangosteen too. 😁

Or Tor Kor to me is the best fruit market in Bangkok- prices may be slightly higher but the quality of the fruits is outstanding! ( well not slightly, but quite- still the quality makes it up)
The market is very clean too.- unlike many Thai frsh markets. Thanks for sharing!
Do they still wrap the Durian in plastic foil for transportation in the MRT?

  • @toyshanger8945

Sugar apple belongs to the custard apple family. Longan is actually known as dragon’s eye because if if you bite half into the fresh you will see the seed in the centre looking like an eye.
Durian I preferred the Malaysian version as it was how I grew up eating and is normally a softer texture and stronger taste than the Thai ones.

  • @nvan78

Some interesting choices, some I am not familiar with like Salak. Like Durian in small quantities. Have a home outside Udon and we generally have more familiar fruits growing like Mango, Jackfruit, Banana, and even Rose Apple..
