Lagertha was the most famous shield maiden there ever was, along with an Earl in her own right. She was so beautiful, kind and unstoppable.
Ragnar went BACK to the seer and the seer even confirmed to Ragnar that the son he was referring to that would take over everything and rule was his son he had with lagertha. Bjorn. So ragnar ruined everything and his marriage to lagertha for absolutely NOTHING. He got his "king-son" before he ever even met that other conniving ho and had sons with her.
Her legitimate anger and his narcissistic smirk stuck with me for years. She wanted resolution for his transgressions and he thought it was a game that he could somehow win and get to keep everything. At first I was sad about him because he made the wrong choices and he lost his happiness and love for his fame and the possibility of having many sons (his ego). Now I realise that he got exactly what he wanted and that Lagertha went through a very difficult journey in her life that she didn't once regret because she valued herself. His choices, thought, brought him his pain, not fate nor the Gods. He got to play stupid games and won his stupid prices.
