Your pineapple is lovely! The colors and textures are so realistic and there's such attention to detail. Even a piece of fruit can be a labor of love. Keep up the great work!
I Sam always amazed at how talented you are! I’m trying watercolor now thanks to you, am I’m not afraid! Thank you again for always inspiring me! 😊❤️👍🏼
aww thank you Elizabeth, I am so happy to hear this💖😀yes be brave!!! watercolors are fun!! just go slow and don't be afraid to make mistakes - it's part of the learning process. As long as you watch your paint move.. water flow.. you are learning! every time ;)
Who knew a pineapple could be so beautiful :-) Absolutely gorgeous. I've got my paints sorted and ready to go for this, and the drawing has been downloaded and traced. I can't wait!!!!!
OH MY GOSH....I LOVE IT!!!! LOL!!!! This is co cool! I've never seen a painting like this! You had a great idea!! It's so fun and makes me smile!! Thanks for brightening up my Saturday!!!! Have a great weekend, hun!! Hugz, 💕🌸 Tree

absolutely beautiful 😍✨🍍 makes me want to try painting a pineapple too 😊 very inspiring!! thanks for sharing !! I wanted to see how you achieved the splash effect 😂 hope next video your battery lasts 🙏🏻
Aww thank you 😊 please take a deep breath and try to take it easy, when Watercolors feel hard at the moment, try with something super easy like simple color swatches and doing few splatters of paint or just something you know you are always good at.
aww thank you so much🍍😀🤗you are so sweet!🍍🍍😀🍍I don't really do video portraits because I feel like they are very personal but I will create something at some point to add a variety here on my Channel🍍
At last you put a lot of colourful water on the paper near the pineapple to make a special effect. How do you avoid the obvious water stain when the paper dry?
Hi ElsaFan :) When I did this splash, I first waited until my pineapple has completely dried, I then wetted the area next to the pineapple and some parts of the pineapple, I pre-mixed paint with water - same colors I used to paint pineapple, I then started "dripping" paint/water from a brush onto those wet areas.. I moved the paper around so the colors would mix... I just let it dry, as usual. There was enough paint so it wouldn't look like a stain. thanks
I love those splashes. Need to practice more with it; somehow my arches coldpress gives a bit of water issues; and when the water is ok my brush is to dry, it sometimes drives me up de wall, do you have a golden tip for me to get the damn balance right? It's not my paint, I either use sennelier, schmincke or daniel smith, its not the paper or brush either, i have a very decent -synthetic - royal majestic, its just my lack of knowhow, fail
☺️Hi, thank you so much. The main problem people usually have is using too much paint or water 😅so one thing I always do is making sure my brush is WET. Before I do anything I dip my brush in water then wipe it on a towel, if I need more water, I won't wipe the brush on a towel. I add water to my watercolors too, so they have some water in it. When you wet the paper, make sure you think ahead of what effect you want to achieve, then decide on how much water you would use on a paper. if you want to paint wet on dry, then you don't need to wet the paper, just make sure you brush is wet when you are dipping in paint (water/paint)
I swear this paper gives me the itch. I know i am weird in this as most love arches. I may like 100% cotton. But not arches. I guess i will stick to strathmore...for now. I can get my paint to flow just right on allmost anything - even on canson xl or on my fabriano jumbo block, grinnn -. Imagine my frustration when on an A paper nothing helps, lol
lol that's too bad because Arches is one of the best and I'm actually not a fan of Fabriano and canson haha so its funny that you prefer the other two. Strathmore is my second choice, they do make some good papers, either way I always tell everyone to stay away from student grade papers because they make things really hard in a learning process x
Only 180 grgr / m² ?? And you work by wetting the paper ?? Very little then, and only small surfaces ... I am surprised that the paper does not make waves, I never dared to paint on a paper so thin ... oops, I forgot ... very beautiful anana, Maria, stupid to have dropped 😀😀😀😍
haha thank you so much Dany😀🍍yes this is a thin paper, I paint pretty quick, I mean it still took me maybe 1 hr to finish this one, but my paper lays on a glass, so somehow it helps to keep it nice and flat. Of course once I leave it to fully dry, It will buckle up... but then I just place it under my other paintings.
Hello maria i saw this painting on your instagram and i just wow wow it is soo cool so modern 😍😍😍😍😘😘😘❤❤💛💛💛🍍🍍🍍🍍i just done one drawing of so cute cat i take my mobile phone and yours new video pineapple is like in some game where you cut fruit do you know what i mean
Awww thank you so much Magdalena 🤗🍍🍍🍍💕🌹❤️I appreciate your lovely comment and I think I know what you mean 🌹☺️😍🐬I just wish I also had that part in the video where I was doing the splash 🤣
Maria, you are so wonderful! I'd like to ask, since I can only afford two or three good brushes at a time, what would you recommend as the absolute "must have" brush to get first in order to transition from oils into watercolor? Right now I'm painting landscapes and old buildings. I realize this is difficult to give a definitive answer, but any guidance will be welcome. Thank you for this awesome video!! 👍👍😍
Hi Michael :) thank you so much ☺️and yes, it is a difficult questions because it's hard to choose, especially that you mostly like painting landscapes and buildings, but for that you could go with 1. Flat Brush 3/4 "Black Velvet" by Silver Brush. It can work as a wash brush and painting the buildings itself. 2.Then an angular brush - I suggest a smaller one since you would have a flat brush already, you can go with either Angular 1/2 "Golden Natural" by Silver brush, or Elite series by Princeton also has a good Angular 1/2 brush, 3.then for a smaller round brush, perhaps Round 2 "Versatil" Escoda, for smaller details, you don't need very small brushes because you mentioned landscapes but this one is my "middle small round brush". 4.Also if you can you may consider a rigger/script/liner brush, it's really great for painting thin lines (wheat, grass, flowers, lines on the buildings). You could perhaps go with Script liner 0 by "Golden Natural" or 1 "Black Velvet" by Silver Brush. Thank you :) This part about brushes is free on my teachable website: maria-raczynska.teachable.com/courses/ocean-waves-in-watercolors/lectures/4400024 ☺️
awesome Michael :) thank you and have fun painting!! btw here's the website where some of the brushes are www.thebrushguys.com if you click on "teacher recommended brushes" I have a page there, you get 5% off with coupon "mariar" ( I also get 5% back). No biggie but they do have good prices on Silver brushes etc
Maria Raczynska good deal! I meant to ask you if you had an affiliate link or code. I used to make Photoshop tutorial videos in another lifetime so I know how hard you work to make these for us. You are a genuine treasure, girl! 😁😁💕
