"Bag companies are the worst at showing what bags are actually like." So true. Found your page while helping my dad shop for a bag, and I love how humorous and in depth your reviews are! Thanks!
Nice! I own the 40l, use it on every trip. It even comes with a laptop sleeve, perfect for day use when you get there.
like that you are so honest in your reviews and on what you like. Also comparing the bags with the others!!
I bought this bag and love it. I also got the subterra 70cm 2 in 1 luggage to match.
Hey man, I want to say thank's for this review. Stumbled onto your channel looking to for a good Subterra review. Ended up going on what should be described as a Chase Reeves bender marathon. You're like a cross between Robin Williams, my friend Dan Steinberg, and Some Dad making UA-cam Vids in his domicile Basement studio. Subbed now and lovin it!! As for the pack, it was a struggle between Minal Cary on 2.0, Wandrd Prvke and this bag. Ended up back where I began and ordered the same Subterra in Mineral. Not a perfect solution but fits my needs and the understated aesthetic I'm after. Hopefully it works out and great hat :)
Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!
Chase, please review the thule subterra 40l carry on. I struggling to find a bag that could look professional in a banking environment (meaning briefcase mode required) and (obviously) all the other desired features (quick access, laptop compartment, decent room for clothing, and business papers slot). So far the only option I consider is Tom bihn tristar. Thanks man!
I love me some "one bag travel" too! Great video.
I'm not even in the market for a bag, I just like your reviews! Auto like.
I purchased the AER Fitpack V2 on your recommendation. Best bag ever :-) Thank you sir. Keep making these awesome videos :-)
The North Face Recon vs Thule Crossover Backpack 32L ¿Which of the two are better?
please recommend
Hi there. Thanks for the review, I was wondering what or where did you get that small zipper pouch organizer? Looks super handy. I own the Thule Subterra 30L and am so surprised by how much I like it!! I still am loyal to the Escort2 backpack but this bag is super clean for travel and work. I do agree 1000% with you on needing a speed/quick access pocket. I may want to add a modification by installing a zipper on the outside (the sheet below the logo feels like it has a pocket there already) but that can be risky and expensive for the bag.
I was gonna ask if you could review this after seeing this on PackHacker but I thought you mainly focused on indie bag makers. So, I was happy to see this pop up. I'm glad you like the bag, I feel like along with the good points, the price point is good... $140 and can be used as a daypack. I'm comparing this to the homebase backpack which Ive been considering but is like a hundred+ more and doesn't really have a look I love. The homebase does seem comfortable and has the big open layout which is awesome vs stuffing your stuff in like the thule, which I'm so tired of doing in travel bags.
Hey Chase Reeves, what do u recommend for putting 17 inch bulky gaming laptop
Hey I haven't seen any reviews for the black ember citadel and am highly considering buying it. I would love a review of that as it is sleek and looks like it could work as a travel / edc since it is relatively light and is modular.
nice review, have you ever seen the Thule Vea??? quite similar to some AER backpacks.... maybe would be good to have a comparison
Chase, have you reviewed the Thule Enroute Camera Backpack 25L? I would love to know your thoughts.
I'm looking for a daily backpack which could be waterproof, and possibly used as a travel backpack for short journeys. Coming to this purpose, I'm comparing the North Face Surge and this Thule Subterra 34L. Which one do you advice? This would be the first Rolltop backpack, I don't have any experience on that so I'm afraid I will regret that later on. Do you have some other hints?
What is the exact size of the "tablet compartment? Any chance it could hold a 13" Dell laptop?
Thule must have made changes to this bag. I just bought the Subterra 30L today and there are two quick access pockets on the side of the bag. The pockets are on the side of the water bottle pockets. Makes the bag perfect for me.
Hello Chase, could you please review the Thule Landmark 70L
I’m torn on 2 final bags between this Subterra and the Minaal 2.0. Plz help!!
How awesome would it be if it had a better back and magnetic clips. Also maybe make it so you can clip it to the sides and clip it to the middle as an option (just need to reverse the clip ends on half)
Could you plzzzzz do a review on mov riviera backpack and lumzag?
Thanks a galaxy....
Do you have a place to request bag reviews? I would love to see a review of the SwissGear Getaway backpack collection.
Nice review. I think no quick pockets on the outside of this bag is the point no quick pockets no pick pockets . All pockets seem to be on the inside good for travel were pick pocketing might be a problem.
Could you review the Thule chronical 28l thank you
Thanks for covering this one! Love to see a wide range of bag makers (both indie and mainstream). Any plans for the smaller capacity Subterra for everyday purposes? Like the 23L maybe?
No plans currently... it’s actually hard to get these bags from bigger brands.
Chase Reeves I hadn’t considered that, but it makes sense. Too bad they make it tough though. Thanks for doing this one, it was super helpful!
Does not have to be a travel bag. I go to work and I have a zojirushi Mr. bento, water battle/coffe battle + Protein shaker. On top of it I need some space for glasses case because otherwise I would be blind and some space for classic stuff - keys, ids, money, notebook (paper one). Its really nice if my bag has also a space for some sweeter or top that I might take off because morning commute might be chilly. I tell you, you will not put all of this stuff to a 16-20l bag xD
when are you gnna do a review of millican smith 25 roll top
Hi Chase, you should test the new Thule landmark 40l and 60 l ;)
Just to clarify @ 5:01 the laptop compartment is indeed protected from the bottom and the opposite side of the zippers with a foam cilinder. This backpack is amazing!
Awesome! But this one or Aer Duffel?
Pleaaaaaase do a review on the Thule Subterra 25L! Love your videos, man!
Ready for them headphone reviews boiiii¡
I like this guy. Subscribed!
Damn it looks good !
The affordable one bag bag game is stepping up
No quick access? Why even make a bag of this size without a go-to pocket...
Love those magnets!! ... how do they work 🤨
Did you know that the Thule Group (owners of the Thule brand) also own Case Logic? something random I just read in the Wikipedia.
I'd love to see a smaller subterra review (30l)
As always, great video! Can I suggest you to make some videos about backpacks for bike commuters? Something designed to be weather resistant and that that try to keep your back free from excessive sweat whould be amazing.
Cheers!
Check out all the water resistant bags here: bagworks.co/feature/water-resistant/
Chase Reeves thanks dude!
There are no review on Burton Prism...or I've never seen it on this channel.
Pretty good review man.
Is that the blue "mineral" color? or just black? Difference is so minor it looks like it could be either.
This pack is tempting but I agree; would rather save up for the PRVKE. Thanks, Chase!
This one’s blue.
Can it be folded?
the intro is SO true
Your jokes are corny as hell but you are the leading authority on bag reviews. You are awesome bagman LOL I just gave you that title which is also a drug reference Loki
Hey could you review rei rucksack 65 ?????.... please @chasereeves
Could you make a thule landmark 70L review? can i carryon without paying extra luggage?
Where did you get your hat from?
Hi 👋, you think the wandrd prvke is a better option than this one ? I will not use the camera cube, it is a travel bag and I will load packing cubes in it
Prvke is a different bag to be sure. My sense is you can watch the video on each one and go with whichever one speaks most to you.
Chase Reeves I got the Thule for 97 euros today, so the price made the choice ;)
Please do the Crossover 2 30L. Nice videos man!
Hi Chase
Can you please review also the Thule Subterra Carry-On 40L?
Ch Th hey pal, I have one. Feel free to ask away!
Bottle holder?
Yeah... no. No bottle holder and no tech pocket. It has a "shoes pocket" that I THINK (never tested it) is water proof/spill proof. That's where I keep my water bottle, but it's not a quick access thing. You have to drop the bag to reach it.
André Calil I wonder whether it is big enough as a carry-on. Mainly because of its shape that seems to waste some precious space. I mean, do you think it is enough for a week for instance? A part from that any complain that you think we should be aware of? I think it is well designed, and although it has no tech pocket it comes with that laptop sleeve which has some pouches right?
Arnau Via Martinez-seara I'm not sure about one week. I agree that the shape and some pockets do take away from the whole capacity. It has an outside length wise pocket where you can find the laptop sleeve. The same shoulder strap that you can use on the main bag can be used on the laptop sleeve. And all of this is included. It's great, but I think it could be better. Right now I'm looking at the Hexad Access by Wandrd.
It is protected from the bottom of the bag. There is a foam in the bottom.
Thule 🙌😍
Are you reviewing the CPL24 anytime soon :o ?!
Have it filmed! But they’re out of stock till October so I’m waiting as long as I can. GREAT BAG.
I hate roll-top pockets with a burning passion... But this bag looks soooo good
Glad to know I'm not the only one.
Me too, Why don't they just let 34L same as 30L one?
Yup, I was about to order it till I saw it had the roll-top

except for peak design ayyyyyyy
my 1st love and 1st bag, thule paramount survive all those harsh mountain hikes lol.
Nice review! The correct pronunciation is thu-lee.
ICP!
Is it pronounced thul or tuly?
you can lost your wallet like in 10 mins if you use this bag in my hometown, side access is only a good idea when there are no theifs waiting in line for you
Pronounced: TOOL-E
Not exactly. Check out how Thule's representative pronounces it: ua-cam.com/video/rdYPS_fqC5M/v-deo.html
Darrell Cassell yes, you are a tool.
More like tool-uh
U r correct. Its TOOL- e.
No we call people like Chase a Tool no E.
BUT WHERE ARE THE BUSINESS PAPERS POCKETS?!?!
No sunglasses compartment
Too-Lee
Love your reviews, you are very funny, but fyi, Thule is pronounced "Too-lay" - Euro.
Pronounced 2 Lee 😏
TOOL-E
Per-verk-eeeeeee
I know this is old now but I believe it’s pronounced TooLee (Thule). In case anyone cared 😎
I'll just come right out and say it...not a fan. No spot for my papers...my business papers. Also no legit quick access pocket? Bruh...do they even bag?
toolie
It's pronounced To-lee.
said ... toolie
Thule = Tool-E
Actually wearing pants this time
It's a new thing I'm trying to do in my life...
