I am just rewatching season 8. I think the production clearly had Acid Betty in mind. There is some mini challenge early in the season where they throw Acid an advantage (for no presented reason). Her placements, edit, and overall prevalence help to seemingly confirm this. And more and more. She adds dimension to the cast as an outspoken villain type. Meanwhile, they didn't have many plans for Naomi Smalls -- possibly wanting to relegate her storyline to "stop relying on that body". But the moment where all of that changed, literally inverted itself on its axis in mere seconds, was the lip sync between Acid Betty and Naomi Smalls. When Naomi turned that lip sync I think it shocked everyone; the producers realized they got what they needed from Acid in terms of a character for the season, and started to focus on Naomi as a legitimate contender instead. One of my favorite weird hidden edits I can think of.
Kennedy Davenport should have made top 3 of season 7. I forget WHY Pearl got in there, but Kennedy once let it out in an interview that RuPaul apologized to her *before* her elimination, saying it was just the way it had to be. I believe this, because on the Season 7 finale, Kennedy Davenport was the only contestant in Drag Race Herstory that RuPaul urged the TV viewing audience to go see perform in person!
Special mention to Loosey who went home in the makeover with an identical twin and the next challenge after is the rumix where she'll let loose the house down mawma
The way Denali genuinely won that lipsync against Olivia in the makeover challenge Aja if she comes back on All Stars will absolutely destroy, I can see Aja and Thorgy getting redemption for how they got shafted in All Stars 3
I totally agree I thought the top 4 for season 13 after the rusical were going to be rosenali, gottmik, the Olivia and symone fight for the fourth spot

if Valentina won the lip sync on season 9 I think she would've slayed the remaining challenges and even won them - ball she could've been high/win, makeover she problem would've been high/win and then she's great at verses and performance challenges so she would've ate the top 4 category song up also - only downfall wouldve been the lip-sync for the crown
i have a theory where if thorgy was just low on episode 2 of all stars 3 and milk was in the bottom with kennedy, she had a chance to win a season. somebody just do what if video about that and watch how season goes.
I can see this. She’s good at improv (the next two challenges), good at design but not standout. Girl groups was solid and she’s good at acting. I could see maybe not standing out enough in ball or GG could hurt her
she would have camped out the soup can part and would do a decent sewing, i think. also her verse was funniest out of everybody on kitty girl and even if she got just bad written swan part on acting challenge she would still be funny.

I will never get the needless elim from awhora. Like you knew it was gonna be an acting challenge. And that bimini and Lawrence would have done way better. So if they had just waited they would have had an episode story line wrapped up nicely, which her vs ellie. Then however the next lipsync would go it wouldnt matter. Lawrence would win.
With all the mind games going on the season I wouldn't be surprised if Kandy or Alexis Michelle ended up choosing her lip-sync even if she had gone farther. But overall the production meddling was so obvious, the cast chemistry was so off, I feel like it was one of the weaker AS seasons, next to 1 and 5. @@RuPaulsDragRaceRejudged

I totally agree with Denali, i think the qhole mistreatment of the losers was the downfall of the season, she did fine to great in almost every challenge and could’ve easily been just low in the makeover, I think keeping her would’ve made the season quite better even if the mistreatment continued and also maybe she would’ve made the finale watchable after those hedious lipsyncs lmao
