Thank you for working through your misshaps on video. Makes me feel so much better about when things happen when I work. These are the examples we need to see you work through. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Becky, just a tip for you if you don’t realize it, DBJJ is often running the sale where you can buy 6 sets for $12 so rather than buy 3 and pay $6 each for them, select a few more and get the discounted price. Once I realized that, I have bought many of their design sets and keep going back for more…ITH stuff is not included but is often marked down 40-50% as well.
I am so glad you covered this. I don;t own an embroidery machine so those videos are not always that relevant to me. But I am in the “thinking about” the embroidery machine purchase based on likes and needs stage, lol. So this meets a “need” and a “want”.
In my world, an embroidery machine is a 'need'. Because of this pandemic, if I didn't have my stitching to bring me joy, I'd be insane by now. So my sanity is totally worth the expense of a machine. :) Perspective my friend!
Love JuJu Designs. I add designs to my wish list during the month and then purchase at the end. I always seem to end up with enough to get the monthly extra items for free. They always stitch out beautifully.
Dear Becky I was so sad to hear you can not come to Sew Yeah. I have been looking forward to meeting you. I understand of course that you're not willing to take a chance with your health. I watch you all the time and you have taught me a great deal about working on my computer. I enjoy your style, so relaxed. That translates to me so I don't lose it when something goes wrong. I just say "What would Becky do?" Hopefully I will get to meet you in the future. Keep up the good work! Maureen
I am in the middle of watching this video and have a placement tip using the snowman sticker. Place double stick tape on the back of the printed template….put the snowman directly over the crosshairs on the paper template. Position the template on the fabric with the double stick tape. The machine will find the snowman. Learned this trick in a Floriani sewing school class a few years ago. A game changer👏👏
@@PowerToolsWithThread You are very welcome. I used to cut a hole out of my template to put the snowman sticker in the hole so I could see exactly where my template fell on my fabric. love your show. I run a small business in my home / I do repairs on old quilts and small embroidery jobs. I hit one of my straight pins while doing a job. My repair shop advised using tape, Painters tape. I used it on a client's baby quilt last night ( baby's name in the middle of the quilts) I did not want to leave residue or pin marks. It worked beautifully. I wish somebody would make a water-soluble tape just for embroidery
Becky that was a fabulous video. You are such a blessing to us all. There's nothing like seeing how things are done versus reading it on paper. Love and Blessings my friend.
Great video. I've had trouble using the snowman sticker. Thank you for this super close tutorial. I think I see were I went wrong the few times I tried it. Going to prop my laptop right next to my machine & "get er done"😊.
The snowman really needs to be as close to center as you can get it. The machine takes into account the outside edges of the design and if the snowman is too far off center, and then outside edges of the design get too close to the hoop, then it will not work right. Frustrating to be sure! But the closer you start to center, the better.

I love DDBJ quarter inch fonts for quilts labels! Do you a use a different weight thread when stitching smaller fonts? I find the smaller size isn’t as crisp.

Did you use a thinnner embroidery thread for the qtr inch font? The small lettering on my birth announcements were almost illegible. 60?
If you're having trouble, then yes a thinner thread is suggested.
Since Bernina Q20 is totally out of my price range, what would you suggest as my first machine? I have Viking, Bernina and baby lock sewing machines.
You might consider the Brothe NQ3700. It's a mid-priced combo machine that has the same interface as your Baby Lock so it will look very familiar.

That fabric is from a line called Hustle Bustle and it's at the Fat Quarter Shop.
