Wow
It will be nice to walk past and see it opened. It looks beautiful

I really love your channel. The way you do the review is concise, classy and super fair. Keep it up!
Halo Randolph, big thanks for that appreciation ๐๐ Glad you enjoyed my videos
Oh wow want a awesome place I stayed here when it was run down but still awesome
Hello Jinny, thanks for the comment. Run down is indeed an exact term to describe the previous hotel ๐ But agree, the location and setting is indeed beautiful

Halo kak Dhiana, terima kasih untuk โค๏ธ nya๐

Bagus banget konten nya. Suka cara menjelaskan tiap desain dan sejarah dibalik nya menambah wawasan. Terimakasih !
Halo kak Suzana, terima kasih banyak ya atas compliment-nya
sangat indah ๐๐
Halo kak Helianan. Iya benar kak, indah dan megah ๐
The corridor reminds me of Aman Resorts.
Pure artistic immerse in culture
Hi there! Yeah, they designed truly from "art" point of view; "form over function". Just like art, not everyone can relate, like you can see in the comments here ๐
behh baru liat desain yang begitu komplit.
salut sama Arsiteknya๐๐
Halo kak Uchok, terima kasih komennya๐.
Ciputra world gitu loh... ๐
Saya sangat suka musiknya.. pernah kesini waktu tahap revitalisasi
Halo kak Dedy, terima kasih ya atas komennya ๐
Tahun 70 an saya sering main pasir sore2 di hotel Bali Beach hotel, kenangan indah dimasa lalu jadi terngiang dengan adanya video ini. Thank's
Halo kak Wahyudi.
Lama sekali reviewer Hotel Travel with design ini tak muncul. Semoga terus berkarya.
Halo kak Traveler Jakarta ๐
Bali beach adalah salah satu favorit keluarga saya, since site position nyaman sekali.
Grand renovation terlihat jelas menonjolkan art dan lighting play. Meskipun tidak terkesan WARM seperti dulu.
Pros: elegance art. Cleanliness, dibanding dulu banyak sekali karpet2, tembok, plafon yang lembab.
Cons:
buat apa menonjolkan JAPANESE ZEN?
Keep on rev bruh๐
@@travelwithdesign
Semoga demikan...
Koridornya cocok buat uji nyali ๐ desainnya generik sekali ngga ada kepribadiannya. Sangat tertolong sama lokasi yg bagus dan super spacious public area. Anyway, saya tetep suka reviewnya, thumbs up
Anyway, I agree that hallway into new look of lobby is very dramatic, walaupun terasa 'sendirian' atau tidak ada hospitality from human touch.
Hi again kak Tiara.
this hotel used to be the THE hotel back in the 60s. post renov, the look n feel is very grand design of the lobby and hotel pools but unfortunately, the room is so small n feels claustrophobic for me. the consolation is the sea view of each room....
Hi Rita. Hopefully this new design can continue that legacy. And yes kinda agree with the room, the view is truly the saving grave
19:50 lampu balcony brwarna hijau,, da yg tau๐
Would be a beautiful location for a golf course. One with professional caring staff. Oh, thatโs right, there was one until this new hospital and hotel complex shut it down and dug it up.
Hi Chris. Yeah, It's unfortunate. But I understand that this was decided a result of the pandemic; they need to have something for "sustainability" if, god forbid, such thing happening again
Not a result of the pandemic. It's a cancer hospital and an attempt by the RI Gov to compete in the medical tourism industry. I think the concept will work. It's just a pity Sanur had to lose It's golf course in the process.
I can't find the link at all for part 2 about The Meru!
I'm sorry that the lobby is in the basement. I also miss the lush greenery that you have at other beach hotels. The spaces around the beach are too open!
Hi Paul. The link for part 2 is coming soon, the video is working in progress, stay tuned ๐ Yeah right, the points you mentioned are some of the things that can be improved in this hotel, especially "the empty-ness". I'm sure they will, considering they just newly opened
because many Indonesian architects make designs without considering using Balinese architecture. this is what it's like. It's not wrong for the video maker to call this Zen style, including the garden is a Zen garden. a hotel that has lost its Balinese identity
Please review The Renassaince hotel in Nusa Dua
Hi Mario, I've reviewed that hotel actually, way in the past ๐ you can check in my channel
Halo kak. Wahh pasti senang ya melihat hasilnya bagus seperti ini ๐
I thought it was going to be a hospital !
Hi Ness. No ๐ a lot of YT videos has been misleading. The int'l hospital is in fact located some hundred meters from this hotel, but still within the same complex
Klo jaman skrg bintang 5 g selalu ad bathtubny. Pullman aja g ad di ciawi. Cm kamar tingkat tertentu aj. Bahkan doubletree by hilton aj g ad
Cut cost yang berdalih green...hehehhe
tingginya cost, sehingga berdampak kepada biaya airbersih utk bathtub. apalagi orang indo, gak mau rugi.. sehari 4x bathub berapa tuh konsumsi aernya.. ๐ (papa, mama, anak2 bath sendiri2)
Kpn mulai ber operasi.. bln juni apa sdh siap
Respect Yolodi + Maria Architects (d-associates)
Hi David. Yeah kudos to them!
termasuk cepet yah renovasi perombakan gede2an nya
Halo kak Akmal.
wow looks modern now but too much empty spaces less warmth, for sanur area i still pick hyatt regency(better value) or andaz to splurge๐คญ
Hello again Pak Boss ๐. Yeah correct, like many others also mentioned, the "empty & hollow-ness" of this hotel is one thing they must improve on. But yes, at the moment, Hyatt and Andaz is superior (but not really apple to apple to compare it with Hyatt property ๐๐)
Andaz was designed by Japanese people, but still takes into account Balinese culture and architecture. Meanwhile, Indonesian architects use Japanese architectural styles. Indonesian people are not proud of local culture.
Is it called Bali Beach Hotel or The Meru? And weren't they transforming this hotel into the International Hospital? Or is that next door?
Hi Ninette ๐ In regards to the name, Bali Beach Hotel refers to the main tall buidling I showed here, and The Meru for the all-suite area that I'll show in my next video (stay tuned). Each has its own booking system and website. It puzzles me when they didn't just name it as one. And the int'l hospital is some hundred meters from the hotel, but still within the same complex
Meru means a replacement for the old Grand Bali Beach bungalow area. when the term villa was not yet popular in Bali
@@mmouse304 The tall white building is still called Bali Beach Hotel and the villa area next to it is now called The Meru, probably based on what you write!
That's right, the multi-storey building is for an ordinary hotel. and Meru for villa class. in the past it was called a bungalow. It's a shame to lose the tropical garden, a place for outdoor Balinese dance performances too
Lebih bagus hotel nya , bener bener berbeda interiornya , penggabungan modren , tradisional
Halo kak Baim ๐ Yes, benar jauh lebih bagus. Tapi harganya pun juga berlipat-lipat naik ๐
If that was the basic room at 2 million IDR AU$200 a night what do the rest of them cost ?
Hi Steve. Yeah, a bit too much, especially considering the room (but I guess the price pays for that view), but nowadays , thatโs the average hotel price for big 5-star hotel in Bali, so itโs also not surprising. Do stay tuned for part 2 video, I will show the suite rooms, which starts at IDR 3,6 million ๐๐๐ฅฒ
Already booked the room for next month, what do you mean by mystical reputation?? ๐
Hello Dimas ๐ Well, based on many news and rumours on the internet, about โsome certain roomโ ๐ But it was indeed petty โgossipโ, thatโs why I didnโt to talk much about that. No need to worry. Enjoy this newly revamped property!
This hotel used to have a room containing "ratu laut selatan/Queen of the South Sea" themed items which was not rented to guests. but in general this hotel is not scary. There are no scary mystical things like hotels that are spooky and disturb guests
Was there any bacon for breakfast.? I didn't see any ๐ข
Hi Allison. Yes, there are some. I forgot to mention it
ini ganti nama kah hotelnya jadi the meru?
Halo kak. Sedangkan area kamar2 suite seperti villa bernama The Meru. Memang agak ribet kenapa harus jadi dua nama terpisah ๐
Interior kamarnya agak jomplang sama public area-nya yang skg wow banget
Yaaa oke aja, tapi ga berkesan
Halo kak Hendik ๐ Iya, bener banget. Biasa saja.
Room 327 and 2401 still there?
Hello ๐ They're still there, but the staff didn't specify where it is now. They said they planned to convert one of the room into museum of sorts.
@@travelwithdesign how was the vibe staying there at night? Eerie? Spooky? Were u alone?
@@socielledstance Not at all actually. As the hotel is brightly and well lit at night. Even my relative who usually sensitive with that sort of thing, slept well at night. Iโm sure it will even look less eerie when the hotel is crowded with guests like it used to
Sedangkan bangunan baru yang dibuat malah bamyak yang tertutup.... coba tengok rumah tradisional bali, minim dinding ....astaga arsitek indonesia dimana membangun , jafinyankayak apa ๐ข๐ข๐ข parah, sadis, brutal sekali......
tapi tetap video anda yang tidak mengecewakan.... termasuk cara me review nya saya suka, dibanding review2 lain ๐คญ
@@travelwithdesign katanya hotel punya Tommy Soeharto terbengkalai
@@drippingout6154 iya kak, ini hotel punya pemerintah Indonesia
Not kids friendly. No slides@pool. No kids club
Honestly itโs look more japanese than balinese
We stayed there for 20 yaers nearly every year..
Is this Balinese culture where we pay 150.000 Rp for at the border since 2024? In my country crematoria looks like that. I am sorry but It's a shame for the people of Bali.
Hi Paul ๐ Yeah, I understand your sentiments. Like I also said in the video, this new design is not for everyone (especially if compared to old very Balinese design). But the rather sad fact is, the "new" Balinese design is just like this; a combination of the western-influenced design with a touch of Balinese. Moving forward, I think they should thread this carefully
I agree with u Paul...it's a shame.
correctly. Many Indonesian architects forget culture... Balinese architecture is unique. it's a shame to miss it. Even the city planning of Denpasar, villages in Bali, houses in Bali are all based on Balinese architecture which uses the Tri Hita Karana, Sanga Mandala and Panca Maha Butha. It's a shame that the iconic hotel in Sanur has become like this. lost identity in the hands of the architect
Hotel bertingkat iconic pertama dibali, bersejarah, dimiliki oleh negara, cuman dicat putih ๐ข sadis .........
Lobbynya nampak besar, tapi hanya minimalis tanpa jati diri budaya bali. Sama seperti apurva.
Ngeri sekali.....
Are you a representative of an official institution that has the right to provide a rating? if not why do u have to put score based on your own credit? This can cause polemics and debates
Hi. Sorry, this is a statement I canโt agree with. Then how do you explain people who gave score on Google Reviews, and many hotel reviewers & influencers who also gave score on Instagram? Each person has the right to give their own opinion and rating. Itโs part of freedom of speech, as long as the rating is not biased and based on fact, and doesnโt hurt the object they gave the score to, or create โviral/wide mass conflictโ among people. Itโs up to my audiences whether wants to believe in my rating or not. In addition, If you watched all of my videos, I never gave bad scores to hotel I reviewed, but like some of my audiences have stated to me; they are all fair assessment. But, if more than 50% of my audiences reached out to me to object my rating system, then Iโd happy to delete it.
@@travelwithdesign You do not answer my question. May I conclude this is a personal opinion without a premise disclosure. All reviews on Google, IG, etc Iโm skeptic to: clearly most of them make reviews aiming for sensation and fishing followers, for what? Money? Recognition? Pls tell me. But if the person providing the review is credible, competent and has received official recognition from a trusted institution, of course it makes it easier for me to accept their personal opinion in a review.
You said freedom of speech, naturally. You said that as long as the rating is unbiased and based on facts, wellโฆ no offense but your review is actually biased - may I ask u how to get a 10/10 of Room Design for a standard room in this hotel? Why do u score 9,5/10 for Room View? Whatโs your criteria? How to get 10/10 Room View? You have to be fair.
As a viewer of this review, of course it's okay if I also review you the reviewer (on the basis of freedom of opinion!) how do you score? Do u mind explaining based on what criteria, so it wonโt be biased?
You said you never gave bad scores - yes of course, you are entering the world of social media business hehe, it would be careless giving a negative or honest review which is currently popular on social media, risking to be suedโฆ pls dont do it.
You said you will delete a review if more than 50% object it, base on majority which is biased too.
My reason is actually simple: I criticize your review for giving a score. It is biased , based on what?
Until you give disclosure and premise on your review it will always be biased.
If the premise is true, then the conclusion must be true.
Btw u have talent, nice video though.
@bodatsia6687 Clearly everyone is entitled to their own opinion, including me. And I hate to get into debate. So letโs close it at that
This has NOTHING to do with Bali.
Hi Lars, thanks for sharing your opinion. What did you mean by it? ๐
@@travelwithdesign The last 30-40 years Bali went from paradise
to a place I really don't like anymore.
Bali suffers so much from over-tourism, where the number of visitors clearly has a negative impact on the natural environment, and life for local people.
-Traffic Congestion.
-Water Scarcity. ...
-Waste Management and Pollution. ...
-Electricity Supply. ...
-Over-development and Lack of Planning.
And it's only getting worse year by year.
It's game over.
because many come as immigrants, and not as tourists. Foreign immigrants are also building houses on rice fields and local people are increasingly powerless economically.
