    I got the Sailor Manyou fountain pen with medium-fine nib not long ago and I'm totally in love with the way it writes.

      Superb range, do you remember which variant you went for ?

    I wish I liked PG slims, but my hands are too large for these as well as most vintage pens. The PG standard, however, is perfect for me, and I much prefer the 21k nib, which is--to me--a much more pleasant writing experience.

      They do at times produce a 21k nib as well, but these are rarer occurrences:) which model/s do you own?

      I have smallish hands. Before i decided on getting the pro gear slim i chanced upon the Jinhao 82 and bought 3 in one go for a test run. Needless to say im so glad i decided to experiment with these first, because they’re relatively the same size as the PG slims and i don’t particularly like writing with them for long periods. For pocket pens they’re ok. I would go with the bigger sized Sailors.

      I don't know about 14 vs 21k, but I dislike smol pens and never post. So 1911 Large is the bare minimum.

    I got a Jinhao 82 because I was curious about the profile, but I learned this size pen is painful for me to write with even for just a few minutes. I like it's size, in theory, but it's just too narrow. I'd like to try the standard size Pro Gear some day.

      I guess if the section was a mm or two bigger??

      @remyvegamedia 6 місяців тому

      @@PenFriends Yeah I think 2mm would do it. It's RIGHT in that just too small zone. But I'm learning to enjoy feedback so I gotta try a 1911 or 1911L. I've sustained a lot of hand and wrist injuries in my life so small pens unfortunately don't work haha. Actually, finding a good fountain pen really changed the whole experience of writing for me.

      @@remyvegamediaI’ll try and feed that back to Sailor, it’s not the first time I’ve heard this.
      What pens are you currently enjoying ?

      Right now the Leonardo Momento Zero is pretty much a perfect fit for long writing sessions. Really loving that one as far as size and weight.

    Great video content.
    I prefer the regular sized Sailor Pro Gear. I have larger hands. The slim is too "slim" for my hands.

    This Sailor pen is yet another beautiful writing instrument from the master makers in Japan- I have an embarrassingly large collection of Sailor pens, which I think are arguably the best pens on the market. However, just one question: I have the same Sailor in the larger Pro Gear regular, but its name is 'Blue Dawn' rather than 'Vega'. Is your Sailor Slim a different edition?

    • @PenFriends
      @PenFriends  2 місяці тому

      It’s actually a slightly different finish, blue dawn is a bit more turquoise. The vega is more midnight blue

    Funnily enough, I actually own this particular model (and its companion ink, because... why not, right?) and it writes like a dream, though for me, I have to write with it unposted (not sure why, but... meh)

      I guess if the cap extends the pen to an uncomfortable balance, then this can upset your experience . Out of curiosity, do you prefer Japanese or western pens?
