Great list ;). If I were to add some honorable mentions: Troyes, Caylus, Empires: Age of Discovery, Bus, Bora Bora, Automobile, Ginkgopolis, Steam/Age of Steam, Belfort, Dominant Species ;)
I really appreciate you telling us which player count(s) is the best. Every game in your list (except keyflower) plays best at more than 2 players. Can you please make another list of Interactive Euro Board Games, designed for more than 2 players but play EQUALLY well (not necessarily the best) at 2 players? Thanks
This was also my question or actually it would be enough just to get a mention if the game works well with two players. So maybe just a 2p👍🏻 or 2p👎🏻 added to the player count text.
tomorrow i will get my la granja deluxe finally...bruxelles is also one of the old games that i really miss...thanks for the information on reprint...such a great design....
Unusual list. I love half of these and barely familiar with the other half. El Grande is gem, yes! Wanna check Lancaster and Hansa some day. Here are some of mine. Pretty much anything by Splotter Spellen. New Frontiers or Carnegie for lighter or heavier variations of Puerto Rico formula. Caylus and Agricola for oldschool meanness. Troyes for snatching other players' dice. And Argent: the Consortium where your "workers" shoot fireballs. I also love me some euro area controls like El Grande. Many games by Reiner Knizia: Yellow & Yangtze, Babylonia, Samurai. Then Ginkgopolis and Petrichor have their own unique takes on card-based tile control. Dominant Species: Marine and Cerebria for heavy gamers.
Fabulous list. Some I would love to try if I can get my hands on them. Can't wait for the el grande and T&E reprints. My picks for now would be Brian Boru for pure confrontational games. As for hybrids, I'd pick Dwellings of Eldervale.
Hello, I also appreciate a lot that you refer to "bedt at..." player count. As many of them plays better at higher player count, which one of them has the faster turns, pace? Thank you!
Thanks for the list. With regards to some rules of your nr 1 pick, you confuse the rules for the Grande with the rules for the King. Great choice though!
Thanks much for your videos. You should try and get a better mic and/or put up just a little sound insulation (or hang a blanket from hooks temporarily when you record or something). Your sound could probably pretty easily be improved making this less echoey and more watchable =)
I'm surprised Tigris & Euphrates didn't make the list, for me it's at the top! Is it because you don't categorize it as a euro or because you don't rate it as high as I thought?
If Caverna interaction is a gentle argument round the fire after dinner then Hansa Teutonica is a knife fight in a lift. I prefer the knife fight. Not sure I agree that El Grande is a euro game, I would compare it (favourably) to area of control games like Inis, Cyclades etc.
Great thematic choice, rather unusual, very interesting. Great job to present as clearly each game in about 2 minutes! and with passion. I love interactive games. Bruxelles and Keyflower are in my top 10 ever. Curious about Lancaster and Tower of Babel... I think I understand you're not interested in a mean interactive games review, too bad because I love them: Vanuatu, In the Year of the Dragon, Myrmes... See you
El Grande is not a euro game, it's an area control game. Should not be on the list. Teotihuacan, Trajan, Castles of Burgundy or Troyes could easily find their way onto this list.
@@ChairmanoftheBoard I guess euro games are all about resources, exchanging one thing to another, developing your engine, scoring VP from multiple sources; El Grande has nothing to do with economy, trading, developing etc
You're not wrong. 99% of the time Euros are about those things but there are exceptions. A Euro is basically another term used to define German-style games that are mechanically simple yet strategic. I suppose the term has been watered down over time.
@@kamilkuklo4225 It is unfortunate that euros get pigeonholed into being only resource management games. Definitely A LOT of those, but I don't think that's true.
These are the best type of games period
Really appreciate you mentioning the best player count.
more. please 😅 especially 'best with 3'
Wonderful and informative list. I appreciate that you include “best at” player counts, as well, on your pop up display of each game.
Looking forward to the revised edition of Bruxelles 1893 coming out later this year
Vasco da Gama is also cool. Glad to see some love for Calimala. Love that game.
PS Caylus is missing :)
Great list ;). If I were to add some honorable mentions: Troyes, Caylus, Empires: Age of Discovery, Bus, Bora Bora, Automobile, Ginkgopolis, Steam/Age of Steam, Belfort, Dominant Species ;)
Troyes and Caylus were very close to making it for me
Great list ! It‘s missing „Rococo Deluxe“ though, another great Euro with an unusual theme and area control elements.

Several of my biggest favourites here :)

Reef Encounter, Mexica and Bus are some of my favourites
Very interesting list. I own 7,5 of these games. Instead of Bruxelles 1893, I have Bruxelles 1897, the very well regarded card game version. Cheers!
I love Bruxelles 1897! I wish I could get a hold of the playmat.😢
If Taj Mahal isn’t on this list, I’ll eat my hat.

Ah yeah, I used the wrong term. You know what I meant though ha 😜

I’d add Mombasa to the list
Good taste!
Ha I didn't even need to watch to see what was no.1..it was always gonna be the best game EVER!!
El Grande is an awesome game - unfortunately out of print. Any news of the same getting a re-print?
It's getting reprinted this year
Getting reprinted by Lucky Duck Games this year
I love interaction. Im still thinking about barage but heard its not great at 2
I still enjoy it at two but it definitely shines with 3 or 4
Curious if Dominant Species was a close miss for this list, or if you are just not a fan.
I didn't like it. Too fiddly for me.
@@ChairmanoftheBoard That was not an impression I got from it ... but then... I play much more fiddly games with joy.
what about interacitve games for 2 players?
we enjoy lost cities, hanamikoji, battle line, patchwork, deep sea adventure...
The only issue is that almost every 2 player game is highly interactive.
@@ChairmanoftheBoard yes, those duel games for sure. but some euro games that play 2-4/5 players which also work well in 2p is a harder one to find.
@fleazapp oh I understand. I have a list like that brewing!
Nice list!
Favorite combat games?
Top 10 coming in the future
I'm surprised Tigris & Euphrates didn't make the list, for me it's at the top! Is it because you don't categorize it as a euro or because you don't rate it as high as I thought?
I categorise it more as an abstract strategy game. I do really enjoy it though
Too bad you haven't gotten to play Come Together yet. Would fit this list perfectly ;)
Great list though. Love all of these games!
Got four of those.
El Grande is really amazing 😊
I love your videos. But as a constructive feedback, just a budget microphone would drastically increase the quality of your videos!
I've tried about 4 different ones and they never work for some reason

I hate interactive games, i love interactive games, i hate interactive games, i love interactive games 😅
You definitely missed a big one. Caylus
Only had room for 10 unfortunately 😜

I'm a big fan of Year of the Dragon and Myrmes. Not played Vanuatu.
@@ChairmanoftheBoard So you like "heavy" cutthroat's games! Nice ^^

It is most definitely a euro game.

Castles isn't interactive at all, what are you smoking? 😂
