She has actually been around for ages and has always been among my favorite singers. It might help to search "EIKO" instead of Shimamiya Eiko as that is how her name used to be stylized (and without the family name at all) back when she was part of I've Sound in particular.
Oddly specific, but this song always reminds me of one of the last chapters of Half Life 2 when you're stuck in the monorail transporter moving around the citadel looking at the enemy army and realizing how fucked you are

Kinda reminds me of some of Yoko Kanno and Ilaria Graziano's works. Its pretty cool when some of your favorite artists use similar styles.
