"Indians eat a lot of onions."
Yeah.. I'm gonna miss saying or hearing these statements.. 😂😂
I am feeling nostalgic! Gone are those days when onions were a common sight from street vendors to a 5 Star hotel😭😭
Just an hour back I bought one kg onions and one kg apples. Both for 120 per Kg. 😁
"Shut up white boy"

😂😂😂😂😂
Hey guys, mishti means sweet and everyone calls gulab jamun all around India including Calcutta.
@Claptrap Revolution pantua is a different sweet. Gulab Jamun and Pantua aren't the same.
My point is we dont call gulab jamuun. We dont go and say " dada gulab jamun din "
Calcutta was when British Ruled
It is Kolkata now
+Rahul Ray I lived in Calcutta for much of my childhood. 8/10 locals I know still call it Calcutta. I would say upper-class Bengalis prefer the old name.
@@sithlordrj8883 The niche class...
The commoners on the streets refers it as Kolkata in their usual manner of speaking...
The word Kolkata fits into Bangla language better than Calcutta
@@rahulray9983 I agree with that. It flows better as Kolkata in BENGALI. But they shouldn't have changed the name to Kolkata in EVERY language. While I was born in Dhanbad, I spent much of my early life in Calcutta when I wasn't in boarding school up North. So it is instinctively still Calcutta to me. The best way I can explain is that Kolkata sounds very provincial instead of one of the 4 major cities, and once THE major city in India.
All Bengalis love Kolkata. But Calcutta is a totally different emotion.
PANI PURI has lots of names such as PUCHKA in West Bengal, GOL GAPPA in North India.
@@dOVERanalyst we too say gupchup in west bengal...(we, those we are historically from odia but now became bengali staying here for 500years)
For once I agree with Korbin and not Rick about food. "Sushi is disgusting".
"Panipuri" it is also known as "Phuchka" in Bengal ... pani puri has many different name in India....in some places it is called
"Gup Chup"
'Panipuri, Golgappa, Phuchka, Gup Chup' are all same and in every state it offers more than one stuffing
Flavours differ as well. Prefer the Mumbai variant over the Delhi Golgappas. Haldiram’s of course has reduced them to “water balls”!
Panipuri has a lot of water in it. Fuchka has more potato filling and it's tastier with tamarind sauce.
He actually pronounces the name of the city correctly.....during British rule, the city was called "Calcutta".....But later on, she has been renamed to "Kolkata", pronounced the way he pronounces it....
Indians used to eat a lot of onions, but now its like truffles
Dont worry its due to floods in fields of southern india..tonnes of onion is being imported
In the words of Mr Anjan Dutta I just want to say one thing "এসো আমার ঘরে একবার
তুমি এসো আমার শহরে একবার,
পারো যদি দেখে যেও
বেঁচে থাকা কারে বলে
এসো আমার শহরে একবার!!"
Love from kolkata guys.
It is said that never trust a bengali who dont like fish and football .LOL
Why writing in bengali? Don't u want others to read and appreciate it?
Kolkata mane gaan-bajna, Kolkata mane sahitya, Kolkata manei shilpo-songskriti-chitrokola-natok-oitijhyo
শুভ বড়দিন ও নতুন বছরের আগাম শুভেচ্ছা সবাইকে । নতুন বছর আরো ভালো কাটুক সবার।😊
Bengal, Orissa, Konkan and Kerala, these areas are known for their spiced, curried and fried fish and seafood dishes
Bengalis eat more fresh water fish from rivers, ponds and lakes, more than 200 varieties, and Bengali food is more oily, greasy, because we use mustard paste, mustard oil, coconut milk, poppy seed paste, milk cream, etc for cooking...
We only eat some sea fishes
Korbin is intelligent. Yes, India has a HUGE coastline. Rice and fish curry is a staple all around the coast.
Yes korbin is intiligent,Rick here mentioning the fish which comes from river water (sweet water)
@@suprobhatchattaraj I don't think so. He just knows more about Bengali culture and sometimes assumes some things are unique to it when they are not.
"We will be doing a lot of food blogs when we are in India." It is going to be spicy, full of weird (for you) textures and a lot of use of bare hands. I look forward to Korbin's reactions. 😛
Those weird moments where Rick and korbin laugh at him for pronouncing kolkata correct throughout the video 👽
Actually Rick is pronouncing Kolkata wrong and that guy is pronouncing Kolkata closer to the right spelling
Ei, don't laugh at the other white boy. At least he's saying Kolkata. You guys still call it Calcutta. And of you say it right! 🤷🤦
these guys are just chyabla ar mannerless...but markwiens, foodranger, volpe, davidsbeenhere era jothesto bhodro
Yes...all of them are mishties.......but gulab jaamun is called 'Laal Mohan' in kolkata
Thank you so much for these genuine reactions guys, I enjoy watching your reactions.
This man has an iron stomach. you do not know food poisoning till you've experienced Indian street food. As an Indian living abroad, I am seriously warning you guys. Dont go there thinking you can eat everything, your stomachs arent primed.
Tanay Luthra I went to India recently and from day 1 started eating street food thinking I was immune to the germs since I was born there and lived there for about 17 yrs . I was fine for the first week and then day 10 I had to go to the doctor 😂
That's not the case. It happens with us Indians too when we visit a different state. But once you get sick that's about it. After that you will be just fine.
Exactly.. I mean food in India for them is so cheap.. so instead of trying from these too local street shops, it's better from them to try some good restaurants... Don't be too adventurous.. I wish the guys who will guide them in India for food tours consider that...
@@Dr.SyedSaifAbbasNaqvi but y get sick... Spoils the trip... We know safety standards , specially in India are way too low..
It happens to Indians as well..even if you go to a good restaurant and eat for 10 days at stretch you would feel sick after a while and crave for home made food.
The look on Rick's face when Korbin mentioned that the the video is from Kolkata. That's what love looks like.
when you are from kolkata and see this video!!!
I am from Mumbai..but I feel a strong connection with Kolkata. I was there in year 2007. I instantly fell in love with this city. City of joy for a reason 💓 my favorite street food are kathi roll, puchka and chilla. And Bengali sweets are heaven. And bengali cinema 😍.. Durga pujo 🥰 and Sourav Ganguly is love 😂
Misti Means Sweets
GULAB jumun is one of the sweet just like Rasgulla And Mysore pak
Guys India have different types of Biriyanis of India's different regions every regions tastes are different from one another.
It's really weird & funny🤪 when rick & korbin laughed at him for pronouncing KOLKATA correctly
DON'T... I REPEAT, DON'T TRY EVERYTHING IN JUST ONE DAY... And do wisely choose places where to eat from.. Cuz hygiene comes first... I don't want u people to get sick... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@fbird3856 Hehe... everything's fine.. I just have exams, so stopped watching youtube.. Thanks for the concern..👍🙌
It's not all Mishtis Rick. Each one has different name😊
@Gargee Basak Gulab jamun is basically Golapjam. Lal mishti is a kind which includes Lyancha, Pantua Chhanar jilipi, Golapjam etc. I am one mishti addicted bangali u know😊
@@A-myth It's Gulabjamun or Gulapjamun in hindi. We bengalis call it Golapjam.
Those indians who eats onions eats a lot lot lottttttt of onions while those who don't eat onions regularly actually doesn't eats at all.
Just one thing I should assure you that anyone never can taste all the dishes of any region of India even if he's an indian...A small village of India containing 20k people can have at least 50 different varieties of a same dish...My brothers, that's our true beauty....The never ending diversity.... it's like our own world inside the world
It's 8:45 in the morning and I am already hungry .. Ok OSR.. What should I do now? Can't even get that same food at this time😒😒😒
Trevor is genuinely sincere and has deep passion for food around the world. You've got to watch other Food Ranger videos.... I think he also did one in Amritsar
Don't hesitate korbin you didn't like it we can understand from your face . Me as an Indian Living in Kerala I also don't eat unhygienic food from street
Guys actually its 'KOLKATA' now....calcutta is the name the brits called bcz they couldnt pronunce kolkata....its amended to its former kolkata later...
Can you react to the Street food of Another great Ancient Indian City - Lucknow. It's a nonveg haven and you guys will absolutely love it ! There's a video too on UA-cam where that same guy in this video has explored the street food of Lucknow
Gulab Jamun is called Pantua in Kolkata, you should try the Bengal fish delicacies, mutton, the mishti, and also the Kolkata Mughlai cuisine is the most authentic mughlai cuisine in India.
I like ur reaction...support from India. Iam a business woman... your videos are stress buster for me. Thank you brothers
U Guys dont even give credit to the person who's video u are reacting to, I know Trevor james has more subscribers, bt come on guys, atleast gv credit where credit is due, not giving credit is almost like content theft
Yes it was pani puri. In Kolkata it is called 'Puchka', in Delhi it is called 'Golgappa'. I'm a Bengali but live in Mumbai & visited Delhi. I can confirm that 'Pani Puri' of Mumbai is better than other two.
Taste level: Pani Puri > Golgappa > Puchka
All in one day... Next few days in hotel bathroom
Fish curry and rice is staple food of Goa too 😊
I am from Kolkata but staying Luxembourg now for Job I agree Ricky coz you are the one who knows how to taste foods.. I love you Rick the way you always express if it's bad or good. You have genuine heart not only you everyone with you. You all are wonderful people. I wish you a very happy Merry Christmas and family with lots of love and warm hugs. God bless you all and have beautiful life ahead. 😘❤️🤗😍💐🎊💖🎁🎄🎅🍰🎈🙏🏻
I would recommend Mark Weins video on Delhi Street food.. it’s amazing!
And you have to squeeze the syrup out of the rasagulla to adjust the sweetness to your liking
I m a bong girl....born and brought of west bengal....so I know the value of all these food....specially fish....in bengali it means 'MAACH'...most of the bengalis love to have fish with rice...means "Maachh Bhaat" and deep fried fish in mastered oil....means "Maachh Bhaja" because it compliments the flavour....but we also like to have sea food...FISH...its not only a food for bengalis...IT'S AN EMOTION...LOVE....OUR IDENTITY🤣😘❤️🐟🐟🐟
I bet kolkata isn't all about deep fried junk food ( as demonstrated in the video) . There are some really good authentic homely bengali dishes that are to die for( aloo posto etc.) . I think we should advertise those salubrious aspects of Indian cuisine than just portraying us as people who love drinking shit load oil and sugar syrup . Deep down , an outsider would never actually want to try such food
Rick you're on point with all the fish + Kolkata wisdom 😀
Loved the video and the guy on the tour was really sweet!
We love you both! Lots of love from India❤😊
I'm a Bengali and i hate roshogolla .
It's too sweet 😫
I'm Tamil and I have to break someone's bones for hating Rasgulla 😠
😁
Pritha Editz me to. Bengali and dont like sweets specially rasgolla.
Korbin you have a dank sense of humour 😂
Love From Kolkata ..
Bengali fish is different from Ireland here we put tons of spices and cook it in different way. You will definitely like it.
Calcutta Is Love.
The Bengali version of gulabjamun is PANTUA.
It's softer and less fried.. You gotta try it next time.warm pantua and vanilla ice cream 🥰
BTW misti means sweets... Anything sweet is misti.. But they have different names for different mistis.
Bengali love fish( varitey of fishes),luchi & potato curry..ghugni,masalamuri,moghlai food(mughali paratha),rolls,&...sweets. sply rosogolla,mistidoi,...sandesh(more than 100 variety). & tea...
I love the fact that Rick is practically an honorary Kolkatan now...I smiled every time you got excited at the sight of "mishtis" :D!!! Spent my entire childhood in the city of joy.....love from Germany
By the way Rick, Indrani didn’t tell you about Calcutta’s original name Kolkata! Yes it is pronounced exactly the way it is written (pronounced like coal-ka-ta). Btw Beef is not a luxury but a rarity, as you can only have it in certain states and certain parts of India where there is pre-dominantly non-Hindu population.
Bengal is famous for durga puja
We bengali People loves to eat fish
And capital city of bengal is "kolkata" also known as "cultural capital of India/city of joy"
The Book store you saw this is the biggest book market all over asia called "college street, kolkata"
Only very few places whare you will find mountains tea garden and sea beach
Its like mini india
I am hungry now....get me indian street food in phoenix!!!!!
Amazon please start instant food delivery from all over the world :(
Gulab jamun is nt Bengali sweet. We have what is called "pantua"
Its called a tuk tuk in Thailand not India. We call it Auto Rickshaw.
Tejas Khandekar: it’s called an auto rickshaw in Mumbai...there are different terms for it in different regions of India
@@r2.b2 well then please enlighten me..and don't forget to mention where in India it's called a tuk tuk
@@garimakilledar5810 no it isn't...it's all the tourists that go to Thailand before they visit India and then call auto rickshaws tuk tuks. After which ofcourse Indians have to follow blindly because a white person said it...btw I wonder why this came up after 10 months.
I love Rick's expression when korbin first said kolkata
Guys, i know you guys are busy, just wanted to remind you that you promised a Rick's tap dance video. So just saying that I'm still waiting.
I am bangali but from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
I found it funny how they kept laughing at Trevor James. He has millions of followers and been all over the world. He’s currently in Iran
You guys should visit India asap if you really want to taste Indian dishes.
Oh cool , don't care , shut up - korbin 😂😂😂 thug life 🔥
Awe... thats so nice of Korbin for Rick😍😍😍
ME : Desert Vlog
Korbin : yes
Me: how many sweet u have tasted
Korbin: none
Me: why ?
Korbin: they all made with bare hands
Me: Food Vlog ?
Korbin: No
:D
Watch his other Kolkata food videos as well... and "Mishti" means "Sweet" in Bengal, so you can say mishti to any sweet... Kolkata is heaven for Sweets and Fishes
11:47 the place where he is eating is a very popular cafe serves good food at budget.
It is named Mitra Cafe
Merry Christmas guys... ⛄
So as someone whose family is from Kolkata (his pronunciation is fine btw) living in Delhi, this video was very difficult to watch!
Luchi ❤️
Maach❤️
All the sweets!! ❤️
Also, I ordered Mughlai parantha while watching this. It will not be as good here, but it’s something. 🤞🏽
Yayy ! Hello from Kolkata here !
Warning: PLEASE DON'T TRY THEM EVER RICK unless you want one of your feet nearing grave (not for Korbin as he would not do it as he has issues with man touching his food) .. I MEAN eating THIS WAY from such PLACES.. INSTEAD, ASK INDRANI TO PREPARE FOR YOU SOME AT HOME OR GO FOR A HYGIENIC RESTAURANTS.. I MYSELF BEING AN INDIAN WOULD NEVER DO SUCH A STUNT UNLESS I AM HIGH ON SOMETHING.
Rick should also have an interest in Calcutta because it's a freakin awesooooooooooome city. People are so so modern in their thoughts. The gender barrier is very little.
They call it gulab jamun only Rick..not just misthi..
Mishti just means Sweets..
Confidently wrong..Rick..:P
From Kolkata. Used to live in LA. Now in folsom.
Guys, I just got back from my vacation to Kolkata. Had I known about your love of street food ( especially Rick's ), I would have brought something along with me for you.
Cheers to the world being a small place. ✌🏻
Thanks you also and happy krismes every one
Great guys....you can refer to his channel for all the food videos and tips for your trip to India😊😊
Try jaggerry rasogolla... roso malai.. Jaggerry is called Gur in bengali. On winter time we produce Nolen Gur.. By this we make rasogolla. Its mesmerising.. We make Jagerry Ice cream also..
Now I am second guessing myself. Isn't Mishti a common name for all of the sweets? Or people in Kolkata call everything just Misthi?
@Gargee Basak I had thought Laal Mohans are those miniature Gulab Jamuns.. Good to Know.. 😁
And jol vora , mouchak, khir kodom , chomchom , pantua , dorbesh , many more ❤️😁
Yes, misti means sweet, like 'mithai'. But there are different names for different mishtis.
Mithai=Mishti. Just like every sweet is Mithai in Hindi, every sweet is Mishti in Bengali. But every Mithai/Mishti has a unique name.
People with weak mentality can't handle street food.. If u r up for go get in streets it's worth it.. If u r gonna cry like baby it's nt being safe.. Then I'll tell u wt many restaurants in India doesn't hv that standards.. "When u r in Rome, be Roman" In India streets food is the best food.. I would I say I am a chef I know where my heart's there..
Finally one more video on food 💞❤actually i like it
I love you Rick for loving Bengali n Bengali culture as I am a Bengali
Guys pls react to Muqabla song from Street Dancer 3D
The dance is really very good but I feel they should have kept it as a surprise not release the whole dance
I am just loving this food reactions OSR.. We need more like this 😍 😍 😍
It is an old video. 130 rupees is $2.1 in this video. Now it is less than $2. I am quite sure that the prices of the food items wouldn't have proportionality increased with the fall of rupee.
