    If you really want people to collect them all, consider a trade-in system where people deposit duplicate cosmetics for a single coin. That way the duplicates have a use.

      @@kildain3438 It's unlikely to work that way though as due to the cost of 2 missions per cosmetic, the number of missions needed before you can expect 1 of every item to be dispensed is 51 missions, which for the amount of work required to get a unique one worth trading it is unlikely anyone is going to do it, given the trades will likely be for profit.

      @@kjono4611 I think it will make for some fun interactions due to the RNG, like a collectible card game. The ones people like the most, or drop the least randomly will go up in value. It could make for some entertaining dealing instead of just a one time trade in to a machine.

      @@kildain3438 Ultimately, the issue is with the cost rather than the duplicates, though. Two coins means double the missions, so the Hermits are looking at 102 missions before it is expected that there will be at least 2 of every prize. I agree that trading will make fun interactions due to the RNG, but with the rate at which it is likely to have duplicates of all 9 in the hands of the Hermits, it unfortunately just seems unrealistic.

      @@kjono4611 This is a big assumption that every Hermit is going to want to collect every one. There will be a bunch who only want one or 2 of their favorites. You don't need 2 of everything in circulation. There is some pluses and minuses to both, but I feel like he is erring on the side of fun interactions rather then collect 'em all.

    Whatever you do, do NOT make nothing a reward for putting in tokens. It isn't that fun and more likely than not someone getting nothing will assume it's a bug or not be happy, neither are very good outcomes.

      I agree with this. It just doesn't sound fun to get nothing. Especially when you are all ready going to be getting doubles you don't want. That is already getting practically nothing.

      Hard agree, like sure the missions aren't difficult but they still take time and the hermits are busy, plus it feels bad to do a thing expecting a reward and get nada.

    That was the second funniest TNT redstone mishap this season. Right after Tango's factory willingly commiting suicide by automatically dispensing a TNT right into its redstone while Tango wasn't looking.

    I love the jazz you added to the bottom floor, and I don’t really mind the stone walls if you wanted to keep them.
    I don’t think there should be a chance to get nothing, you’re being rewarded for your contributions, it’s not a gambling game.

    That’s actually a really great feedback from Ren. The player experience for the reward should have more jazz than the one for getting a mission, as people are working toward this goal (that’s the classic from gamification and the endorphin delivery). So more light, more jingle, more sparkle !

    The Neighbourhood and the Magic Mountain Crew being in the same server seems surreal because both areas feel so unique and not related at all and im reminded everytime they collide each other in some way

    It might be fun to leave the books unsigned and have the hermits put their names down when they complete it. Then whenever someone goes to do a challenge they could see in the book who all has down that one before. Kind of like an old paper copy of a library card in a book.

    Iskall! Dont forget to Wax the Mission Possible instruction signs. For one it does help reduce sign lag a tiny bit but it would also prevent others from changing the colors or whatever of the sign and triggering the system above.

    3:24 that chord there is an F diminished chord (F, A flat, B). Diminished chords in music are meant to sound "bad". I would recommend shifting the second and third notes up one pitch so you get an F major chord (F, A, C) which is a "happy" sound! :)

    Since you already have the coin counter and coin accepted noise, perhaps you could add two lamps to show how many coins have been inserted so people could see if there's one credit already in there.

    Great episode Iskall, I was in tears when you accidentally blew the place up. I would suggest that you leave a blank space in the middle of the display case so that the item that drops down is displayed more clearly!

    I still think it would be nice to have a "whitespace" where the armor stand falls down, meaning no items in the background in this spot, maybe even a different concrete color for those 1 or 2 blocks, or an ocre froglight. Just to make the grand prize more visible/eyecatching.
    But the whole redstone mechanism, the idea and the execution is very cool already!

    I love mission possible. Only advice I would give is that maybe you could do a trade in system, where you trade in two or three cosmetics for a coin. That way if a hermit really wants one particular one and keeps getting repeats, there is a way other than trading with other hermits to get rid of repeats for new ones. It would also be kinda fun if like, maybe for next phase, there are one of two of them that are more valuable, and thus have a lower drop rate. At that point you're really leaning into the gacha system but that would be fun and would add a little extra to the competition between hermits aspect.

    i think the number of tokens needed depends on how long you're planning on having this rotation up.
    Realistically, to get all 10 of the hats (not taking into account hat trading of course), it would A LOT more than 10 spins, meaning A LOT more than 20 missions per hermit, which could either be a lot to ask of them or pretty simple, depending on how long those items stay up.
    But making it only 1 token might make the coin redundant (since you could just put the mission in the barrel instead of the coin, in that case)
    Now if you take into account trading, it's already a whole lot more reasonable, people get duplicates and trade them for the ones they don't have.
    Overral I think it might be nice as is, but if you're planning on adding more than 10 in a next rotation, it might be good to try to change the price.
    Also I think you could make like a shop-esque part of the build where you can turn in like, 5 tokens lets say, for a hat of the hermit's choosing, and down the line another barrel when you can pay even more for a hat from a previous set of hats! That way you'll have more uses for The Tokens(tm).

      Since you've mentioned it, to explain the maths surrounding how likely it is to get 9 prizes in a row and how many missions will be required to be done before you can expect (average number and not a guarantee) to get all 9 prizes.
      Also worth noting, Iskall stated in his Vodskall episode that 1 prize will be given for free to everyone to encourage participation due to the dispenser's limit of 9 slots.
      - LIKELIHOOD OF GETTING ALL 9 IN A ROW: 0.09%
      - EXPECTED NUMBER OF MISSIONS BEFORE ALL 9 ARE DISPENSED AT LEAST ONCE: 52
      -----
      THE MATHS:
      The dispenser has 9 unique outputs, as there are 9 unique prizes.
      When you make your first purchase, there are 9 unique prizes.
      When you make the second purchase, there are 8 unique prizes.
      And so on, until there are no unique prizes left, then you multiply the number of outcomes for each purchase:
      9x8x7x6x5x4x3x2x1= 362880
      This gives you the total number of possible outcomes where you get a different prize each purchase.
      Now, to find the probability, you divide this number by the total number of possible outcomes when triggering the dispenser 9 times:
      9^9 = 387420489
      So the probability is:
      362880/387420489 = 0.0009367, which is 0.09%.
      =======
      When calculating the average number of purchases before we would expect to see all 9 prizes at least once, we do so as follows:
      For the first purchase, there are 9 possible prizes to obtain and 9 unique prizes: 9/9
      On the second purchase, you've already gotten one unique prize, so there are only 8 unique prizes left to get: 9/8
      On the third purchase, you've obtained two unique prizes, so there are 7 unique prizes left to get: 9/7
      This pattern continues until the ninth purchase, where you've purchased 8 unique prizes, and there's only 1 unique prize left to obtain: 9/1
      Adding all these up:
      (9/9) + (9/8) + (9/7) + (9/6) + (9/5) + (9/4) + (9/3) + (9/2) + (9/1) = 25.46 purchases (and as you can't have a part purchase this would be rounded up to 26).
      This means:
      At 1 coin per purchase, you will need to complete an average of 26 missions before getting all 9 prizes dispensed at least once.
      At 2 coins per purchase, you will need to complete an average of 52 missions before getting all 9 prizes dispensed at least once.
      -----
      As such, if multiple Hermits wish to win all 9 prizes, it's better for each prize to cost 1 token, not 2.

      With the comments showing the math on an average number of missions that'll be necessary to win all of them, which shows that 2 tokens per spin is too much, and with this point where the tokens would be redundant if it's dropped down to 1 token per spin; my thoughts on this are to ask if the payout per mission completion can be tweaked instead? I mean, suppose that you turn a book in and get 3 tokens. You pay 2 for a spin, and you've got a spare to save for next time. And then next time you'll have 4 in total so you can spin twice. Bonus spin with every other spin. Someone who did the math on the 2 tokens per spin said 51 missions on average to win everything, but with my suggestion that becomes 17 missions.
      Could also tweak it on both sides if he wants to focus in on a different balance for this. Like maybe a book gives 4 tokens and it costs 3 to spin. So you save up and get a bonus spin with every 3rd mission.
      I doubt there's room for it with how much is already going on under the floor there, but another twist to throw in could be to randomize the payout. Turn in a book and randomly get anywhere between 2 to 4 tokens. (I know I've seen people randomize between two options based on whether a stackable or non-stackable item gets dispensed, but would it be possible to encode three options where the difference is determined by 64-stackable vs 16-stackable vs non-stackable? Does the reading from a comparator make a big enough difference in signal strength from the different stack sizes or are they too close to each other?) Although that might just be annoying and turn people off from the whole thing when a bad roll gives the minimum payout, knowing that it could've been better.

    a quick suggestion (if you have the space), having the other possible rewards behind the one you get is a bit confusing at least in my opinion. You could move the rwards slightly to the side using armorstand magic. that way the one you get sticks out more. Very cool build :D

    you should add a function for if and when duplicates are recieved, there is the option to return it for a single mission token, or a certain sum of diamonds

    Please reconsider the payment requirement; 1 token to prize seems much more reasonable.
    Due to the randomness of the dispenser, the probability of getting all 9 (the 10th is given for free for those who haven't watched the vodskall video) prizes in a row is 0.09%
    When looking at the average number of purchases before you can expect all 9 prizes to have been dispensed at least once, you are looking at 26 purchases (maths comes out at 25.5 purchases)
    This means at 2 coins per prize, you are requiring 51 missions on average for all 9 prizes to be dispensed at least once.
    If you are looking to bring trading tokens as well, you are going to be looking for at least 2 of each item dispensed at least once, which is 102 missions on average, which in the space of 2 months seems unrealistic.

      Worth keeping in mind the intent isn’t for a single person to do it all- it’s about trading with other hermits and a lot of people playing. I do think it’s a lot still, but it definitely helps in that circumstance

      If you get one prize per token, then the tokens become redundant. If that's the case just cut the tokens out entirely and have the prize dispense when you turn in your mission.

      You're forgetting that the intention is for multiple hermits to do missions and collect prizes. If Mission Possible were only single-player, it would be a flat 51 missions on average to get all 9 prizes, but let's say Hermit A does four missions and ends up getting two Question Marks and Hermit B does four missions and gets two Ackshually Glasses. They could trade their duplicates, and the effect would be a 2:1 ratio of missions completed to collection progress for both of them. And that's with only two hermits. On a large enough scale, duplicates are a complete non-issue, at least in theory.

      ​@@ChrisMerkelStudios, I'm not forgetting about the fact that there are multiple Hermits. I'm considering the likely possibility that multiple Hermits will wish for all 9 prizes. The Hermits collectively are going to need to do multiples of 52 missions. I.e., if 2 Hermits want all 9 prizes, that's 104 between the Hermits plus trading. This is within a two-month period when the prizes are changed.
      Iskall has said he wants the Hermits to be able to collect all 9, and while Hermits do grind things, the points of the missions are to be "side quests", things to do to pass the time.
      There are also not many missions available, which means they become repetitive over time, especially when those who want all 9 prizes grind for them.
      Yes, when it only comes to the Hermits that don't want all of them, the cost of 2 coins isn't a big ask, but being realistic, that 52 coins for all 9 prizes is multiplied for every Hermit that wants all 9, making it an unreasonable ask, especially within a short time scale.
      1 coin per prize will also encourage the Hermits who aren't in it for all 9 to help those who are, as there will be fewer missions overall for them to grind, promoting engagement.
      There has to be a balance between time, cost, production value, and the number of unique missions. A couple of months, where Hermits are doing a video a week, doing repetitive tasks that, because they are repetitive, don't hold much production value, is not enough time for the cost to be at 2 tokens for 1 prize.
      The Hermits, while playing for fun, are also reliant on their videos as their source of income, and as such, if something isn't going to make a good video, such as repeating missions, it's not going to be done. It being too expensive is detrimental to engagement, not beneficial.
      If Iskall wants the Hermits to have a reasonable opportunity to collect all the prizes, he either has to drop the cost, drop the rotation of prizes or implement a way of getting coins back/rerolls of duplicates.

    Nothing would be waaay too disappointing. It will already be somewhat sad to get a duplicate, but at least those can be traded. How many missions need to be completed to get all the items? Perfect luck, average luck, bad luck. and they only have 2-3 months? No, no nothing spins please. Beautiful build! and love the added feedback on floor one.

    It's perhaps a little confusing to have the armour stand drop down in front of the other artifacts - it's a little hard to see what you've got if it's something less vibrant like the arrow. There's also no the best visibility against the yellow (possibly youtube compression). I know you're going for gameshow, but perhaps you could have the back of the box for the artifacts be black concrete or terracotta or a brown colour and then the artifacts would pop more and it would draw your eye against the front and side walls of yellow.

    I'm not sure if this was mentioned already (or if iskall is planning on doing this already), but for the mission possible item dispenser machine - it looks like theres a big empty space just above where you can see the items - looks like the perfect space for some banners !
    Also I don't think the chance to get nothing would be very good, too disappointing for hermits after doing two whole missions! Alternatively, there could be a very lucky pull they could very randomly get (a rare special secret item like how blind boxes do, or a very rare chance to get an extra mission token as well as a prize).
    If you are also doing mission possible seasonal prize rotations (after 2months prize change), it be really cool to have a custom map displaying all the prizes for the season that you could put up in mission possible! (if you did a secret item it could be greyed out on it).
    Loved the video, really enjoying how mission possible is coming along!

    i like the new mission possible building, with the look of the reward machine and the sound of the mission giver it gives me the feeling of an old arcade that you could get little tickets from and give in for tiny little reward trinkets. maybe you could even make some arcade game machines to sell the aesthetic?

    Maybe instead of getting nothing, you add alternative prizes? Rarer items, like armour trim templates, music discs, saddles, etc, that are still fun to get, but aren’t Mission Possible exclusives. That way, people are still rewarded for completing the missions, but there’s also motivation to keep playing, since there isn’t a 100% chance of getting a cosmetic every time.

    1:50 - As soon as you walked in to see all the items in the yellow section, the Zelda shopkeeper music from OoT started playing in my head.
    If you go with shelves, you should split it similar to that, and add a villager shopkeeper - maybe get Xisuma to add the shooting gallery music as a record to play :P

    I feel like the new lights & noteblocks before your item pops up from the dispenser could have a drumroll sound of some kind - like a disc or something, instead of just the noteblocks. The upstairs jazz has music and that still feels a little jazzier than the downstairs jazz lol i think the music makes just that little extra bit of difference, but it doesn't have to be over the top. All in all i think this interior is super cool and i wish i was in game to collect all those prizes!

    I liked the first M you had on the building.
    Also think the hermits should get a prize every time they spin. It seems to go against what's at the heart of this whole thing (to encourage fun interactions, etc) to then 'prank' them for participating by not giving them their prize.
    All in all... can't wait to see everyone doing these :)

    Instead of receiving nothing, there could be one prank prize so there’s always a risk of receiving the “bad” item and it adds some more fun risk/suspense to spinning. I think that would make it feel like part of the system instead of something cheap/annoying. But up to you of course! I really enjoyed this video :) excited to see the hermits play!

    Mission impossible is coming along really nicely. Good job Iskall! The chance of someone collecting everything is a really low number so don’t make winning nothing an option, but you should offer something for duplicate items. Like, every 3 duplicates gives a coin or something similar

    MISSION IDEAS (for the next phase):
    1. You have to get someone to stand completely still for 60 seconds. You can do this however you see fit, they just need to not move.
    2. Pretend you are a chicken, run up to a player and drop an egg. If they pick it up you are done.
    3. Tell SmallishBeans that he is pretty. (You can do this in whatever form you wish to, for ex. Speaking, Mail, Writing in chat etc.)
    4. Put a scarecrow on Gem's powerlines.
    5. Put an animal on a lead and attach it to a fence with which you put onto someone's house / base.
    6. Make a shrine to any player you want (not yourself) and put it somewhere. Also put a gift in it. Mail the coordinates of the shrine to the player.

    as the stages continue with different rewards you can make a SUPER RARE stage where you have a chance of getting nothing, don't do it in the first stage because if a hermit gets nothing for the first 2 tasks they do it might de-motivate them from doing more😊
