Its always run to see speedruns of games that I've had so much trouble with... Glitchless run of a horror game ...ANYTIME , The feeling kicks up a notch ! Subs earned ... Way to go bro, love to have more glitchless speed run of horror survival games
Monster always takes 1 bullet to scare away, and it vanishes for 10mins. For comparison, it's a few seconds on Normal, and he needs +1-2 additional bullets each time you try and scare him that way. Think back to Alien: Isolation and how the xenomorph needs more fuel to scare away if every time you do it. On Hard I believe he starts off already needing 2-3 shots
First time I finished this game it took me TEN HOURS to explore the areas, find the key items, manage my resources, hide from the monster hahahahaha less than an hour seemed impossible to me, yet you did it in fifteen minutes LOL Thanks to you I'm now attempting the Toot Sweet achievement. Great video!
@@thebeef420 I get that, and say this is hard-mode elitist sure I understand but dang this game is unbelievably cool when youre scrounging for whatever you can get in the dark barely surviving by the belkt of your pants

Damn i didn't even know you could just jump over the barrier at the end. I spent about 2 hours working out how to kill him haha. (You get him to leap when you're standing on the plank, then shoot him mid-air). Well at least i got the trophy for the kill lol
I played on hard mode and I felt like the game gave me way too much fuel. Though to be fair, I ended up doing basically exploratory runs through each of the areas with the lights on, then let the monster kill me, and went back and got everything in darkness. I guess this is sort of savescumming, but I still had a lot of fun with the game.
I Did my first play through on the hard difficulty. I don’t know about you guys it’s actually very hard. I saw some reviews saying that this game is too easy but I have to disagree, I was stuck and barley got the armament room code after Hours of dying to the beast trying to get into the radio room. The monster DOES one shot and he’s super super sensitive to noise and he never goes away once he spawns in. Shooting him only stuns him for like 3 seconds and the only way to get him to leave is using an explosive .Even then, 15-20 seconds later he’s already spawning back right in front of you or spawning in a room next to you but immediately sprinting to your location. Overall I wouldn’t say it ruins the game if anything if you want a more intense and scarier experience playing it on hard could be the way to go.
IDK man, I played it on hard and would say the game took me... maybe 4 hours to complete? Hell, I never grabbed the gas mask or the stopwatch - I just ran around in the dark and figured out ways to juke the monster. The hardest part for me was the maze that was the arsenal, because the monster's spawns there were annoying as all hell. To be honest, I wouldn't mind the game being a bit more difficult, or perhaps Frictional introducing a multi-monster difficulty instead.
@@DieLit_no doubt hard difficulty is genuinely hard. I tried my first play through on that difficulty and had to restart on normal because I was continually dying but after getting used to how the game works i think hard wont be so bad

Perfect run, nice work Anyone any idea why when I crouch the character doesn't want to go through the vents when they're open? It's like there's an invisible wall stopping me? EDIT: Don't unlock the FPS, leave it as it is default in the config files. That's what breaks the vents
I've not bumped into it myself just yet, but from what I heard there are some issues with the map's geometry on occasion. For vents I'd assume just kind of wiggling against it might get you in, but again I haven't bumped into that problem yet so I'm just guessing
Hey man, thanks for the reply. Turns out the issue was quite simple. I have a higher than 60 refresh rate monitor so I unlocked the FPS. That's what made it kaput. If you leave the FPS config to its default, the vents work.
YOU CAN BREAK THE LOCKS WITH ROCKS?? I seriously thought the only way was to shoot them. Now that I think about it, the game encourages you to experiment. I feel quite dumb.
I'm gonna catch flak for this but I am a firm believer that a Speedrun should only bare minimum count on NORMAL difficulty my guy. I know there's separate categories for each difficulty but I just think that speedruns on the easiest difficulties or at least below the standard normal difficulty should be null imo. Either way great run and video.
Sometimes he does spawn for me, but it's very rare. It can be multiple factors, did you set off traps, low health, generator turned off, have the prisoner screaming, waiting around for too long in the area.
I wouldn't consider it as one since the map itself juts out enough to allow it. It's just jumping on a piece of the wall that sticks out enough to allow it as opposed to stuff like clipping through the map or using a physics bug to float up.
This is kind of a bullshit speedrun. He's playing on easy mode (which means the monster will rarely come out when it hears noise). He should have done this speedrun on normal or hard mode, when there's an ACTUAL CHALLENGE!
You do realize that most of speedruns go on easy mode, and not only this game, ALL OF THEM. Its same things as changing language to Spanish so you can finish dialogue in cutscenes faster...so the challenge you are talking about, is well... Get game done asap
@NekolayTheFemboy the point is to get the game done as quick as possible, what you mean? Again you are missing the point. If you're gonna speedrun a game about hiding from a monster hy taking the monster away, is pointless. There's literally no point speed running it on easy because there's no punishment for being loud, which is the entire point of the other modes
@NekolayTheFemboy also saying all speedrunners do it on easy mode is a LIE! You only say that to justify your claim that easy mode on this game isn't cheating when it clearly is.
