Hey Julie, I don’t think I am considered a super fan buuuuuuutt, I do watch all your videos and absolutely love your content. Your personality just cracks me up. I wanted to bring to your attention that I have tried out most of the planners you have. I have gone through the Hobonichi phase with you - I like having all the layouts in one A5 book but while the paper is durable, I got tired of the shadowing and bumpy handwriting from stickers on previous page. I went through the plum paper planner phase with you - like the paper and the priorities layout but was running out of room to put all my events and didn’t like the stacked weekends. Long story short……….. I want to share with you what I did t try out. I got the Erin condren hourly and the Erin condren daily duo, then I uncoiled them and put my daily duo sheets behind my weekly layouts. So I ended up with a Monthly layout, followed by my weekly layouts, followed by my daily duo sheets for every month (6 months per coil) it has been working so far and I like the paper! I know uncoiling sounds hard and frustrating but it is a lot easier than you think and so worth it. Plus it give you an idea for a video! Win…. Win
I bought the B6 common planner last year because I love B6/Personal Wide size. I went back to Wonderland 222 for 2024. I just don't like the skinny little weekly vertical timed layout. I would love it if she came out with a B6 horizontal weekly or one with the Weeks' style weekly on the left and notes on the right. I did end up getting a lot of her notebooks because I love the grid and paper.
Love love love the b6 Sterling ink. I have the full year compact for my schedule and daily todo’s. And I also bought a passport notebook for daily reflections and therapy notes and a passport vertical to track wellness habits. Loving the smaller sizes. I use the b6 in my Wonderland222 planner cover/crossbody purse so it’s with me wherever I go and I absolutely love the system!
I preordered the a5 in camel and passport in Mist. I have been using my b6 undated this last half of year and love it. I’m excited for the a5 though. I do have the cousin too. 😂 and a couple of weeks. And a b6 and standard Tn from aura Estelle. Yikes.
Beautiful planners! I ordered the Sterling Ink A5 and B6 common planners this year and you didn’t mention it, but the feel of the covers is brilliant. Mine have such a buttery soft feel. I hate to put the protectors on them. I can’t wait to get into them. I’m in a Hobonichi Cousin this year and love it too. It stands up to so many inks and I’ve experimented with different ways to use the sections. I’m like you where I am still trying to sort out exactly how I want to use each product.
Hi Julie! I have been a “Hobo” gal since 2018. Started in a A6, tried a Weeks but was not ready for it, found my sweet spot in a A5 Cousin, revisited and now adore the Weeks size. In 2024 I will be using a B6 SI Common Planner for the first time as a journal along with a Hobonichi Weeks for EDC and a Midori Hibino for my Bible reading, Scripture writing and gratitude. Not going to lie, I have A5 FOMO, LOL. I went with the Common planner because I wanted a break from the colors, quotes and daily page print. I want to see if I will show up each day without the dates taunting me. A challenge it may be but I feel up to it. P.S. Love Tomoe River paper.
Thanks for this in-depth video! I was thinking of using a second half year because I adopted a first half year Cousin, but when I saw the 12 hrs timeline instead of 24 hrs, I was out.
Love the new darker times! Wish they’d make the grid a bit darker too. I got an A5 forest half year bundle. LOVE my common planner. I used for the last half of 2023. Totally think you should give the B6 common planner a try.
I purchased the B6 in two books in the caramel. It's gorgeous and I am so excited about using them next year. I looking for the perfect color combination for Moterm covers. This year I used Sterling Ink B6 and it is very full, but I love it!❤
@@kendradavid2389 I used a fair amount of stickers. About 90% of the pages I have stickers on, plus vellum and acetate binding, are still great!!! I also used a Moterm cover.
I've been spot-checking the SI site/IG every few days so I don't miss the release of the extras. I'm hoping to get the A5 but after watching this video, I'm thinking I may need to bite the bullet and get the B6 as well too. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you in trying to decide what size I want to use. Hopefully having it in hand will provide some clarity.
I have a horizontal N2 (weeks) compact, an A6 vertical 520 page, and a passport vertical compact on their way - US to Aus shipping takes a while and the N2 were some of the last to start shipping after the manufacturing delay happened. I can’t remember which cover choice belongs to which book, but there’ll be one camel, one forest, and one onyx. Weeks for work (probably- I may swap it for the passport) A6 probably or maybe passport for EDC. If I end up stealing the passport for work then the weeks will probably be used for either reading or gaming since health stuff goes in the EDC.
Thank you, Julie! This video was super helpful with my Hobo and SI dilemma. My biggest concern is the ghosting from page-to-page. Does the SI have 'less' ghosting than the Hobo?
I decided to try the Common Planner A5 compact because I did feel the stress of the dailies in the Hobonichi Cousin. I tried the Wonderland, but the stacked weekends also annoyed me. The common planner extras are on sale right now.
I don't have either one of these planners but from your video I'm loving the Sterling B6 in camel! Of course, I want to try all the planners but I'm running out of room on my desk, lol.
I preordered 1 of each... I just had a bad case of FOMO. I'm actually thinking if I like them? They would look great stored on a shelf and be able to see the year marked in the spine. That's my OCD thoughts.
Thanks for your video! I pre-ordered the B6 Compact in Mist. It's beautiful. Like you, I haven't decided which other planner to use for 2024. I'm thinking of going with the Common Planner A5 Compact instead of the Hobonichi Cousin. Decisions, Decisions!!
Oh, Julie's opinion on recent planner trends...I need that video! 😂 I've been bullet journaling in the Sterling Ink B6 notebook this year but I'm thinking of getting either the weeks size or the B6 common planner for memory keeping and journaling.
I got my preorder while I was watching this video! I got the A5 compact full year as I wanted more decorative space than my B6 I have this year. I kind of wish I had got the weeks size too but there’s always another year! xxx💕
I love the SI pale blue! I ordered an a5 but would love the b6! Which website were you referring to? Is there a buy-sell-trade spot ti do this? Thank you to anyone who knows!!
So is the difference between Hobinichi cousin and common planner in the weekly lay out that in Hobinichi there is a 24 hour time to plan and in the common planner they don’t give from midnight to 5 am to plan? What is the difference in the quality of the paper?
How did the paper compare ? What did you miss most between the Hobonichi and the Common Planner ? Thank you! I also love Hobonichi but Im attempted to try the other!
Hi Julia, Is there any way you could tell me if the sizing for the Hobonichi weeks and sterling ink are the same? In particular I use stickers a lot and am wondering if the Hobinichi weeks kits will fit in the Sterling Ink weeks planner.
measurements of the planners they are almost identical. Thickness at the spine is different though because the regular weeks from hobonichi is super thin and compact weeks from SI is slightly thicker because it has more pages
@@JuliesPlans Do you think the A5 common planner will fit in the Aura Estelle cover? I was thinking about using the Hobo Cousin but I think I like the simplicity of the common planner much better.
For those who are saying that darker print or grids are distracting. Remember that there are people who are vision impaired that would also like to use these planners. In my book, the grids should be darker. As long as there no writing on the page before or after, the grid seems dark enough, because of the pages behind hit. However, the grid becomes too hard to see in these planners once in use. Maybe when she gets older, she will see the mistake in this design. If you want to have lighter grids for water coloring, artwork, etc, get a Stalology. . I wish more people would not feel their desires are more entitled to those with disabilities. I want this layout for a real common place book, not a planner. I want to not write on a slant, or get headaches drawing lines or what not. There are even Etsy sellers that will sell you blank TMR Sansan or old TMR paper notebooks. I get this is her ascetic, but I feel she is excluding the older population and those with vision impairments like my niece.
personally, my brain can't take the split of the months/weeks/days that she uses - I prefer the way Aura Estelle and Papertess do that but definitely a better aesthetic than the Hobonicis!
I made a mistake with the size and the color (thanks to the nervous)... I won't be use my A6, but I don't wanna order other 2024 (next year I will choice the correct one). 🥲

I'm using the caramel A5 common planner with that olive moterm, The caramel and olive together is perfection!
She will have the extras for sale in Nov.
That’s interesting since she hasn’t shipped my preorder yet ….
@@elsbells4841 it will be once all of the preorders ship.
Great video, helped me decide between hobonochi weeks and SI, have decided to go with SI weeks. Thank you for the comparison!
I'm new to Sterling this year and got one in the camel and pink and the camel is stunning - great video!

Love that camel. I ended up ordering a Wonderland 222 A5 because it has another section of habit tracking which I’ve been missing.
I switched to SI for my a5 and weeks. Exited to try it and see if it holds up well over the year!
That b6 with that moterm cover is chef's kiss! I have already decided but man this is a really nice planner.
It’s one of my favorite covers!

The two blank pages at the beginning are often used for index pages, or vision boards or word of the year.
Thank goodness they are blank so you can do whatever you want! I’d probably decorate it!
I got the A6 in camel and the B6 in forest. I absolutely love the minimalistic design.
Love the new darker times! Wish they’d make the grid a bit darker too.

Hi Julie you use the hobonici more for memory keeping and journaling correct ? I’m
Curious how you see yourself utilizing a sterling ink
Use it for both planning and journaling with memory keeping!

The common planner would be perfect for me if it came in A5 and that the months/weeks/days were sectioned together chronologically.
Yes this!

Great video! I still want a Cousin. Many blessings.
The cousin is a classic fave!!!
I probably should have bought this one again this year. I instead opted for the Wonderland222 and she is a thick thick one.
Well, I probably won’t use all of these so….. 🤣🤣🤣
If you're looking for stickers many companies are making decorative and journaling kits that aren't planner size specific.

Hello, do you have the website for the B6 planner..
Do you have a video of your color markers/brush pens color palette? Seems you have a beautiful collection visible in your video.
Nope! I have too many 😅
Do you like the Common Planner or Hobonichi Cousin better? They look the same to me.
I don't think one is better than the other. It's really down to which aesthetic you prefer.
